SEGA has high sales expectations for both Persona 4 Revival and Stranger Than Heaven, which may seem a little unrealistic depending on your point of view.
In its latest business Q&A, the publisher highlighted the two aforementioned titles as "flagship" or "mainstay" releases. These are basically SEGA's heavy hitters for the near future.
When an investor asked about the meaning behind such a categorisation, the company gave a pretty straightforward response, stating that games from flagship properties are "expected to sell over 5 million units" across their lifespan.

The thing is, that kind of figure seems like a bit of a long shot when you consider each property's recent sales numbers.
Case in point: fellow Persona remake Persona 3 Reload has sold 2.97 million copies to date, while even the most popular of RGG Studio games tend to cap at around 3 million sales.
In fact, the latter's actually on a bit of a slope, with Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth managing just 2.05 million copies — a decrease of roughly 1 million units when compared to its predecessor, Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
To be fair, SEGA is referring to lifetime sales here, so that includes discounted sales for potentially years to come.
Still, shifting 5 million copies is a pretty tall order for any game, unless it's attached to an established AAA brand, or it's some kind of viral smash hit.
