Night and day improvement and i can't wait to play on my Pro on release. Got the Deluxe pre ordered.

Graphics are technically better but it's got the HDR curse of boring, low-contrast lighting. Swapping a mysterious cloaked visage for... some dude's overlit face is 100% tech showcase, 0% art. Look how much blue they sucked from the sea in that boat screenshot. Give this thing an old school colourful mastering ON TOP of cutting edge graphics and then you're on the right track.

ps4 absolutely still holds up. way to milk a fairly recent game ubisoft

@ridiculous_ties yup, remasters always kill the atmosphere and artstyle - two things that arguably make a game look better more than raw crystal clear graphics and stupid hdr

I'm looking forward to the game, I haven't played Black Flag since it initially released.

Difference is night and day, and all the better for it. I'm on Pro, so I guess I'll be diving back in!

@ridiculous_ties I will give you that about the blue sea.

Holiday brochures and Calendars always have dishonest manipulation of the sea to make it that bright blue colour, when in reality it's the same grey as Weston-Super-Mare.

But that's what I want in Black Flag! I don't want reality! I want that fantasy of being in the Caribbean as I imagine it in my head with the bright blue sea!

PC gamers will no doubt use some kind of game filter to saturate the colours. You are dead right that it's technically good, but based on those screenshots it just needs an artistic pass.

@Dogbreath There's a chance they'll have a filter in the remake. They had an AC1 color filter for Mirage.

I personally like the new look, but no harm in giving people options.

@LiamCroft show them both on the ps5 pro instead of showing one on the ps4 which automatically puts it at a disadvantage. Reviews here's one stop stacking the deck be honest stop trying to get the response you need instead of a true honest comparison response. I played original on my ps 5 pro and its negligence between the two. Faces are better in the resynced but that's the only feature that stands out

@Rambostjohn Why would we do that? Most people played this on PS4, so this is a comparison between what they played and what the Resynced version has to offer.

@LiamCroft I, for one, own the version I could play on my PS5 Pro now, and am not buying the remake - but a comparison of what both would look like on the hardware I'd actually play them on today would be more telling than comparing the new to what the older one would look like on a PS4 I no longer own.

That said, I tend to doubt the PS4 version would look dramatically different on my PS5 Pro compared to a PS4, though I do expect it might have a higher frame rate than it did on the PS4.

Absolutely insane that people think these look the same, or the original looks better. The remake is miles better.

@RobN it was a native 1080p with a locked 30fps on PS4. It would look and run exactly the same on PS5 Pro?

What about the base ps5?

Why not compare it to PS4 Pro at this point?

I always loved exploring the tiny islands in Black flag and often just stood watching the Jackdaw bobbing offshore in those crystal clear waters. So serene.

I love it, but I don't much see the point. Not that I won't buy it...
If they can do this to black flag, why have they never gone back to the start and sort Altair's journey into a better well trodden AC path with a bit more variation whilst keeping the core game the same?
