Re: Horizon Sales Update Cements It As One of Sony's Strongest Franchises

Dalamar

I bought Zero Dawn on release. I started it FOUR TIMES, two on PS4 and another two on PS5. I just couldn't finish it. Many reasons: poor melee system, very boring fights with human enemies, primitive stealth, long treks from point A to point B with nothing interesting in between... Still I could live with all that. But the writing - oh my god, it's so bad! Everyone has a lot to say and a very little to actually tell, and the protagonist is insufferable. People say she is even worse in the sequel, I can't imagine it. I have Forbidden West copy that was bundled with my PS5, it's still wrapped.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 606

Dalamar

Greetings, good people.

I'm still plowing through Ghost of Yogurt, and it's much longer than I anticipated. Either I'm extremely slow, or howlongtobeat lied to me, I'm only in the third region and the timer already shows almost 40 hours. In the beginning I really enjoyed the gameplay loop, but now I just want to be done with it and return to Ninja Gaiden 4.

Other than that, I'm having a wonderful time with Once Upon a Katamari, it's a delightful little game. It might be the best entry in the series, it has everything that I love about Katamari: songs, humour, variety - abundance of all. Play it if you ever liked Katamari.

That's all for now, have a great weekend.

Re: Poll: Is Ghost of Yotei Better Than Ghost of Tsushima?

Dalamar

While graphics and gameplay in Yotei are improvements over Tsushima, it's honestly not by much. And it's not because Yotei looks bad, but because Tsushima is unbelievably pretty for a PS4 game. And while gameplay is more refined and varied, I was quite disappointed with the new weapon system. It's not that I expected Nioh level or something, but it's just the same shape block puzzle for toddlers as Jin's stances were, the only difference is animation.
And while I'm only 35 hours in and can't speak for the whole story, I definitely prefer Jin over Atsu because of his transformation from samurai to ghost. Compared to that, Atsu has no character growth, simply because of the game open system that does nothing good, but hurts the writing.
