@SuperSilverback I honestly never believed this would happen, adored every Onimusha and replayed them tons on vPS2,PS3- never got the remaster as I didn't want to smudge my roses tinted glasses
Guy is phenomenally talented, no question. I'd have to go with Joel and his Indy cover was basically perfect-
High quality VA can add a lot to the immersion, playing Stalker in Ukrainian, Cyberpunks huge cast, Cal in Jedi, KCD in Czech Japanese games in Japanese- Immortals had some great motion capture and VA work- finished product was a fun time.
I genuinely hope there is some truth to these figures.
Bethesda was given an extra year by MS and still released a half baked game...
They had 2 extra years to fine tune it, and what 7-8 months to simply port it to PS...
They STILL released a game that breaks for many owners..., I've read the POI repeating issue is still a thing as well
Look at CD with their own in house engine- cooking updates
Bethesda with their own in house engine- constantly broken, and glacially slow updates
@lazarus11 I'm coming here to read about the updates, and ya know, read the comments.
It's a fascinating and interesting capture of social media and attachment.
I've seen these threads quite literally everywhere that mirror this intense defense of a game that clearly has imperfections, and fans that are aghast at any negative criticism.
As I just said, the game looks fun. Especially for an OCD action adventure explorer, but I am drowning in backlog I really want to play.
So.... I'm keeping tabs on it for whenever I've got the time
Starfield community was a lot like this at launch as well. Unless your invested stock wise in the company, it's a bit odd
@themightyant I can't recall seeing anything like this fervent unabashed ferocity around the defense of this game , especially at scale.
It's fascinating...
Game sounds like a fun but jumbled wonky mess. I think 12 months is a safe bet for waiting it out on the patches side, especially with how heavy handed they are going with patches- some serious changes and really quickly
So I bit on the Pro, only had a pretty nice 1440 IPS moniter before.
I figured I'd go all in and grabbed a 32 ASUS Swift woled the same day this patch released( pure coincidence)
Holy geez..... so that's what you'll have been talking about with the Pro and an oled
*Very very tempted to go big screen on the oled, but i really don't like gaming on huge screens- just too much eye real-estate, very gorgeous I'm sure though
@Fiendish-Beaver Hello fellow Combat Engineer, from across the pond.
I was a bit glad to see "Combat Engineer" as the main until it went into Medic/ Corpman definitions of saving lives. Huh... that's... that's not really what a Combat Engineer does
@Gurdi ?????? This isn't " journalist" thing with the controls as I've read a mountain of posts mentioning the controls are " "absurdly obtuse"- What an odd thing to flip out about.....
@UltimateOtaku91 Hadn't visited Polygon in years, that was without a doubt one of the funniest and still written sincerely , game impressions I've EVER read- Good shout out ha ha
@trev666 Boy, good thing you're on most threads with video games mentioned. Otherwise we'd never know what a game plays like because most of us haven't actually played it most likely.
@RoomWithaMoose It's decent on SD with Chiaki, works well on a tablet with the dualsense.
PS Portal is a much better experience all the way around, the tablet only beating screen size, but with the limited mobility.
PC Handhelds are " heavy"-Greenlight on Deck was buttery smooth, but man that Deck gets heavy
@Yor-sama I haven't played it, but been on the fence because I've seen a lot of mixed opinions. Boring world, pretty bad dialogue and Yasuke isn't fun to play as i guess or the play styles are jarring between the two characters?- I've seen these complaints quite a bit. Do you feel like there's merit to any of those complaints?
@Sakai Its what my PS5 is, just a 3rd party machine. I'll get to Ghost of Y eventually, but Sony hasn't released a 1st party game I've drooled over for a while. Nearly as dumb as MS has been this gen, but at least we know they'll stay in the business of consoles. No idea what MS is doing anymore, and pending the new Zelda, Nindy is kind of coasting as well

Re: Gran Turismo Copycat Forced to Change Its Name for Release on PS5, PS4
*A thought...
I must be using the store differently, maybe because I live in the sales tabs.
Sure there's shovelware, but for me it's not inundated with it.
Re: Gran Turismo Copycat Forced to Change Its Name for Release on PS5, PS4
@Dogbreath That's a lot of faith in humanity.....
I have to constantly stop my wife from buying nonsense because she was only half paying attention, and she's a nurse.
Lord knows I probably do 4 stupid things a day and don't realize it

Re: PS5's Fairgames Is a Free-to-Play Extraction Shooter, and It's Not Dead Yet
Just think, if this fails we have nothing to worry about because we've still got that Horizon Fortnite Montser Hunter game coming up.

Re: Starfield's 'Unplayable' PS5 Crashing Issues Prompt Sony to Refund Players
I briefly considered getting this last night for the Pro, Cyberpunk 2077 keeps crashing on me .....haha
But as I was redditing the sub to see if others were having issues, I glanced over to check on Starfield and lo and behold.... it was crashing
Ive had issues with Jedi Survivor crashing a lot as well
I've also had latency issues with my Portal
Not sure if the updated PSSR is causing fits, or the recent updates but having a lot of New issues

@MrPeanutbutterz Wasn't this the case with the PS4 Pro as well?
It's just the nature of the beast with electronics 🤷♂️

I played through 2x, and second time with female V, both actors were really good. I havnt started the DLC though, guess it was a good thing i waited!
Re: Here's Why Starfield Will Be Best on PS5 When It Finally Releases Next Week
@DNortonX Ah yes, the precursor irrational Fandom to Crimson Desert...
"If you didn't like it, it's because you obviously never played it theory.."
Is this parroting a behavoirial symptom of social media🤔
Kind of hoping I run across this at work, very interested to talk with someone like this in a clinical setting

Exactly!!!
I mean for one thing is not an extraction shooter, so it belongs in the who cares pile
Re: Opinion: Does Starfield Suck? People Keep Telling Me to Skip Its PS5 Release
I genuinely enjoy the reviews from Pushsquare and PureXbox
I don't always agree, but they actually read like a gamer is reviewing them, not a communications major who needed a job
Re: Opinion: Does Starfield Suck? People Keep Telling Me to Skip Its PS5 Release
@Dimey HATING A GAME FOR BEING DISAPPOINTING IS COMPLETELY RATIONAL.........
This strange notion that if someone dislikes a game " well then, they obviously havnt played it!!" reasoning is remarkably childish
I think it speaks to society living through the internet and viewing important facets of life through the lenses of"internet"
Re: Crimson Desert Improves Image Quality on Base PS5 with Simple Upscaling
@LikelySatan Are u you trying to be willfully obtuse?
I never said it was a bad game, and this thread isn't a bubble in time..... but if you aren't seeing what I and others takes about......
Um....
Re: Crimson Desert Improves Image Quality on Base PS5 with Simple Upscaling
It's utterly bizzare to see never ending posts of people incensed when this game isn't talked about in gushing bombastic flowery prose.......
Quite possibly the strangest attachment syndrome I've ever seen around a game, and Starfield was really goofy/ but CD has easily 1 upped it.
Re: Feature: PS5 Price - Why Does It Cost So Much in 2026?
@Member_the_game I'm in the same boat, not to mention a 3 years long backlog of games genuinely want to play.
Just bought a Pro, have a kid that gets a 10% discount+ credit card cash back, I got it at a decent price
If god forbid the inflation never backs down, it should hold decent resale value
Re: PS5 FPS Alien Deathstorm Is Not to Be Confused with the Ridley Scott Movie, Despite Its Dev
I was in early 2000's/Iraq- it was mostly munitions demolition/ MSR clearance and breach support
I always figure it's a win for us if a character gets called a Combat Engineer instead of infantry 😆
Re: Sony Announces Gigantic PS5 Price Increases, Effective from April 2026

Hope you enjoy it!
For a Unity Engine game worth only 30 or so Devs it's impressive
Re: 70+ PS5, PS4 Games to Buy in PS Store's Huge Spring Sale
@MKD88 Tainted Grail is spectacular!
Having said that, I've only played it on the Steam Deck, and I've heard it runs a little ruff on PS5- maybe the latest patch fixed it.
Avowed isn't bad, really shallow and generic though- Outerworlds 1 with magic

Thanks for the intro info Liam, bizarre...
I haven't seen such intense bickering in forums around a game since Starfield.
Been entertaining, really really dumb at times but entertaining

It wasn't bad at all, but Holy cow it was so, so, so, so, shallow-Utterly gorgeous sky boxes though
Re: Rumour: Starfield PS5 Release Date Locked in for April as Xbox RPG Targets Lower Price Point
@Bsb56 Not sure if this still works, but get PC Gamepass for 1$, 1€, and stream it
That way you know if it's for you
Re: Rumour: Starfield PS5 Release Date Locked in for April as Xbox RPG Targets Lower Price Point
@MrPeanutbutterz At least that would be exciting, still can't believe how many times I fell asleep playing this game.
Genuinely think 15+ hours of playtime i had fallen asleep
