You'll be able to examine Tekken 7's character models in closer detail with PlayStation VR, as Bandai Namco has included support for Sony's headset in the upcoming brawler. While the specifics of this feature still remain something of a mystery, some footage of the mode has appeared online this weekend, so we can get a better idea of what it's all about.
First up, there's a video of Akuma and Jin Kazama going at it, with the camera positioned in its usual side-on position. The twist is that you can look around the admittedly simplistic stage, and view the action from a number of different angles, which is a nice novelty – even if it presumably won't extend to the rest of the game.
You'll also be able to get close and personal with the game's various character models, and given how good Summer Lesson looked in virtual reality, we have high hopes for this throwaway feature. Who wouldn't want to get personal with Lili et al, after all? We rest our case.

I'm guessing there's going to be some pervy dudes checking out female models in VR LMAO! That said just viewing the models seems a little pointless...
I have only one fear for this game : that you have to buy stuff with real money instead of unlocking it with your skill.
But kudos for this little VR mode !!
@Bobobiwan As far as I know, you can't purchase in-game items with real money in Tekken 7 - unless it has a way to buy in-game money with real money once it launches? Haven't heard anything about it though.
This seems dumb. Like, why wouldn't you just make it so that you were sitting as, like, a spectator in a Pro-Wrestling or MMA Match or something? You sit there, but you're controlling the action? That seems like the obvious view to try to emulate if you're doing gameplay for a fighting game in VR.
Just having Jin and Akuma fighting in an endless space void while you floppily turn your head around to watch them from a too-close view is real dumb, gimmicky and awkward. I'm disappointed; they should've learned more about VR experiences from Summer Lesson, although I guess since that was all up-close stuff the Tekken 7 model viewer will benefit most from that experience. Yeah, I suppose they learned nothing about mid-range and long-range experiences from that game, dangit :/
Still, I guess its not as dumb, gimmicky, awkward and worthless as that first person mode Street Fighter is doing for the Switch, so... that's... a victory, I guess?
Maybe they'll learn more about VR from Ace Combat 7, and I presume, a new Time Crisis or Ridge Racer for PSVR after that. Fingers crossed, eh?
