Remember A King's Tale: Final Fantasy XV? Announced before Final Fantasy XV released, the 2D sidescrolling beat-'em-up was available as a GameStop pre-order bonus, but once the main title launched, we admittedly heard very little about the additional adventure. Fortunately, if you've been interested in trying A King's Tale for yourself, you're in luck.
The game, which features King Regis and his allies fighting off hordes of monsters, will be available to download from the 1st March on the PlayStation Store - and it won't cost you a penny. Here's hoping that it's actually worth a shot.
Will you be giving this a go? Form a party and break out some combos in the comments section below.

Where does this fit in the timeline, between the movie and the game, or prior to both?
@fchinaski Apparently it's 30 years before FFXV.
@ShogunRok Ah, thanks. Young King Regis then. Cool.
It's free and its Final Fantasy related so I'll definitely be d/l.Hopefully it's like Streets Of Rage 2...including a kangaroo with boxing gloves
Does it have any Trophies at all?
@get2sammyb I have it. It has trophies, no platinum though.
@belmont That's pretty cool. I didn't think it would have any seeing as it's free.
how long does/will it take to finish from start to end. (average)
@Dr4gonkiller96 About 2-4 hours depending on skill. A little bit more if you want all the trophies.
@get2sammyb To be more presice it has 1 gold, 3 silver and 9 bronze. Most are assosiated with the story and some extra missions that unlock if you beat the story.
Overall it is a fun side scroller beat em up with a bit of Final Fanatsy stuff.
Hell's yeah I'll give it a go!
Nice. I'll definitely play this.
@get2sammyb @ShogunRok Shouldn't you guys be writing an article about how instead of wasting their time making this free download they should have been busy working on the PS4 Pro frame rate issues instead?
@rjejr No because they already made this. I think we did sh*t on it when it was announced, though.
Yes, we did:

I look forward to see how people will complain about this free stuff XD
Has this got co-op? It might be fun
Well....atleast it doesn't look as bad as Slashy Souls.
Better than double dragon?
@get2sammyb You can say sh*t on here, this isn't Twitter, Tsukaki is going to get you.
Yeah, you didn't seem thrilled back then either. And that was when you game was still coming out in September. Had they announced it after the delay to November I'm sure you would have ripped it right proper.
QUESTION: i already own this game, got it with my FFXV pre-order but is it also gonna be on XB1?, i know this is a PlayStation site but i ask because if it is no harm in owning another copy
yes yes yes yes yeeeeeeeeeeeesssss omg I was already giving up hope for it !!!!!!!!!!! i can not waaaaiiiiiiittt oO
More FF is a good thing, always wanted to try this so 'll be downloading this from the get go.
@FullbringIchigo Yes it will also come in X1
Aaaaah ! And thinking that I bought a code (yes : bought !) from an evil seller on EBay who abused my fanboy attitude ! I paid 30 euros, months ago, just for this game ! o_O
The reason was that I wanted the complete FFXV experience, and since the code didn't came with my version of the game... I COULD HAVE WAIT, SQUARE-ENIX, IF ONLY YOU TOLD ME TO. But no, nothing, you kept your fans in the dark and let some evil sellers speculate on this "rare, never coming again" game.
Board. At least, the game is good. Damn good, if you are nostalgic of the 16 bits era. And I am.
@belmont sweet, as long as MS doesn't require card details on your account like it did when i tried to download other frees games, which is dumb, the game is free so why do they nee your card details?
@Wazeddie22 LOL!!
