If you need some way of justifying your PS5 Pro purchase — either before or, god forbid, after the recent price increase — then Saros looks to be one way of doing so. Housemarque has put out a new trailer today focusing on the upgraded console and what it brings over the base PS5 system. Catch it above.

Amongst gameplay clips, footage highlights the use of PSSR 2, and it'll all surely be delivered at the sort of high frame rates a fast-paced roguelike shooter demands. It comes to PS5 on 30th April 2026.

On the PlayStation Blog, technical director Seppo Halonen said Saros has an increased base render resolution over the original PS5 even before any upscaling.

He said: "This means on PS5 Pro, you will have an even clearer higher resolution image at 60 fps. While we use dynamic resolution to ensure stable frame rate even in the middle of hectic combat, PS5 Pro always delivers a sharper image in a scene-to-scene comparison."

We have access to Saros on PS5 to review now, and shall be delivering our full review on 24th April. Check back on the site then for our thoughts. Will you be playing on base PS5 or PS5 Pro? Tell us in the comments below.
