Stellar Blade’s PC demo has blown up on Steam, peaking with highs of 26,443 concurrent players. That’s higher than some blockbuster games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and close to the recent release of DOOM: The Dark Ages.
Of course, the demo is free to try, but it’s already been available for over a year on PS5, so this is a particularly promising result for Korean developer Shift Up.
Even more importantly, the demo is running well across a variety of rigs – including the Steam Deck handheld. At the time of writing, almost 92% of the user reviews are highly positive.

Shift Up has also been working with Sony to roll out the game in as many regions as possible, after it was initially reported that a significant number of countries couldn’t buy the game due to the publisher’s policies. That’s now been partly rectified, and the release can now be pre-ordered in over 250 countries.
