Re: Soapbox: I Think I'm Over Trophies

vhsodre

I like to get trophies but I'm not that obsessed about them. If I'm in the mood to keep playing them, I'll probably run for it. Otherwise, I will play something else. Not a big deal.
Now, it really amazes me how many people (not talking about who wrote this) make a big fuss about the subject, especially those who are opposed to. Sometimes, they sound like those morons that think gaming is a waste of time.
Talking about wasting, I think it's a wasted feature on PSN. Sony could have used it to engage the community even more but, they done nothing, as usual. Sony Reward could have been a thing but they shut it down.

Re: Biomutant on PS4 Part of Sony's Free Game Trial Service This Month

vhsodre

"Recently, Sony very quietly introduced Game Trials."

Game trials were part the original ideias for the Playstation Plus' benefits. There were a couple of game you could test them for an hour. I think PS Plus still has PS3 games you could do this. However, for unknown reasons, Sony stopped doing that.
Another wasted idea was the alpha/beta access, that actually was never implemented properly.

Re: Don't Hold Your Breath for Bethesda's Starfield on PS5, PS4

vhsodre

@lacerz first of all, comparing "power of the cloud" with their new investiment is a terrible mistake.
I chose PS3 and PS4 because they had the franchises I wanted to play but, my choice wasn't only about that. Sony will keep producing games from franchises I'm into but they're getting over their heads with their prices.
As I previously discussed here in Push Square, I'm from Brazil. Gaming here is getting too expensive for the common folk. While Microsoft is giving us an "option B", via Gamepass, Sony isn't. There are PS3 games in the PS Store that cost 40% of our minimum wage (Yes, I still play my PS3 and there are a couple of games I still want to buy), there are a couple of publishers, like Ubisoft, that raised their prices and there's no relevant sale for PS3 games since 2018. Physical copies are not an option because either they're also expensive or they're digital only. Since I'm not rich, I have to spend wisely. UK/US reality are not everyone's reality.

By the way I don't chose platform by devotion. I know nothing is 100% with Microsoft but they didn't acquire those studios for nothing. Bethesda titles are a huge deal or me and Microsoft is also promising a couple of good titles from other studios. If Sony give me a better option to acquire their titles, I'll be all in. But, for now, Xbox will suit me better.

Re: Class Action Lawsuit Claims Sony Has Monopoly on PS Store Games

vhsodre

@gollumb82 my problem is with Sony. I would like to buy a couple of PS3 games but it's way overpriced for years. Besides that, there are no sales for PS3 games since December 2019 and, before that, they only offered a small number of titles. So, how can I buy those games?
On Steam, by the way, my account is set correctly.

Re: PS4 Owners Are Worried Their Games Won't Work if a Clock Battery Fails

vhsodre

@jrt87 and @get2sammyb yeah, this conversation started with the news about the PS3 Store shutting down. I assumed it isn't pure speculation since I saw at least two people that are involved in the mod community.
Like SNES cartridges and motherboards, PS3 has a PRAM Battery that supplies energy to the internal clock and keep the storage of your game's licences, among other things. I believe this battery is used on motherboards to store the BIOS and the SNES cartridges uses to store the save datas from that respective cartridge.
The patch problem is even bigger on PS4 since the majority of titles requires a day one patch. It happened with PS3 as well but it wasn't that often.

@Paranoimia if they don't do that, less people will access their sites since the lack of content. Even if it's only irrelevant stuff being posted, it will bring the illusion of constant activity.

Re: Sony Banning PS5 Owners for Exploiting PS Plus Collection

vhsodre

Sorry but the whole "benefit for PS5's owners only " is total BS since you can't access those games if you aren't a PS Plus subscriber. Besides that, a lot of people used to redeem the free PS3 and PS Vita monthly games on Plus even if they never owned these consoles. Now, suddenly, Sony decides that's against the ToS. My point is: this is a benefit for PS Plus subscribers.

Sony is stupid to think nobody would notice this and totally incompetent for not being able to implement a way that only PS5 owner's could access those games. Why did they not add a code for those games inside PS5's boxes???

The ToS talks about selling content (all transactions should be made by the final user so, you can't sell your games or account). Unless someone points out, I don't think redeeming the Plus Collection to someone is against the ToS. If it's, they should ban everyone their share their accounts.

Re: Poll: How Much Are You Willing to Pay for PS5?

vhsodre

Brazil is living a "dark age" in games again. One Dollar costs around Five Reais (R$5). While americans pay US$400 for a PS4 Pro, here it costs around US$800. You can't find a PS4 Slim here for less than US$450. Any AAA costs no less than US$50.
Now, while the american minimum wage is around US$10 per hour, the brazilian is around US$1,30.
I really don't know what to expect for the next years during incoming recession. So, I'll be playing indie games on PC and my PS3 backlog for a while.

Re: There's Been a Big Scandal About Whether PS5 Can Run Games in 4K

vhsodre

I'm kind of sick of the whole "insiders" leaking things. Even a monkey can create a Twitter, a Reddit or whatever, to spread any bs they want and people are always gonna believe the truth that suits the best to them.
Why can't everyone grow up and like video games by their qualities instead of a freaking brand? I really don't understand this necessity of point fingers and mocking each other. My entire life I've been tired of people telling me that video games are for children. Now, it's very difficult to argue that when a lot of players act like one.

Re: Xbox Sure Did Announce a Lot of Timed Exclusives This Week

vhsodre

@wiiware I understand your concern and you're actually not wrong. But I believe he can also have a opinion by the consumer's perspective.
Now, while Phil Spencer has a more "friendly" approach in his posts and interviews (if it's genuine...), I can't state the same about the Head of Playstation. They're always so burocratic.

Re: God of War Director Prefers PS5 Price Increases Over Microtransaction Hellscape

vhsodre

1) I really doubt he would say something different than that;
2) They're going to charge us more and still shove microtransactions down our throats;
3) While americans always paid US$60, at least for the last 15 or 20 years, there're a lot of places that the price is not the same at all, like here in Brazil. I remember paying R$150 on PS3 titles on their release date and now games costs almost R$300.

Re: Poll: Which Version of the PS5 Do You Plan to Buy?

vhsodre

I'm seriously thinking on investing my money on a new pc instead, and it's not about power. Sony customer service is not great, they completely neglect their legacy consoles even when they still sells their games on PS Store, most multiplataform games are way cheaper on Steam (at least here in Brazil) and some games aren't available in my region (The Long Dark and Filthy Lucre, for example).
I loved most of their exclusive on PS3, PS4 and PS Vita but I think it's not enough for me anymore.
