I’ve just ordered one if those iPhone backbone things. They’re about £100 but managed to win one on Ebay for £55. On Amazon customer reviews it gets an average 4.7/5 from about 2.5K reviews. Look really good.

@Tharsman i know, it was just a rumour that surfaced. Sony are worth about $110 billion so they could prob loan a huge portion of the cash. I can’t see it happening tho.

Should buy Take Two. Much better acquisition than Activision!! COD is great but it doesn’t come close to GTA an Red Dead.

@Northern_munkey i read Playstation cut of each digital game hovers around 30%. So 30% of £70 is £21 i think. X that by 20 mill for a AAA exclusive that’s £420 million!!

@AverageGamer all games that were in development before Microsoft came along. You’d think there’d at least be an “Xbox” game in the pipeline, yet nothing.

@Northern_munkey i agree bout digital. If i can get it cheaper digital i go digital, otherwise physical. Always physical for PS5 exclusives. Yes the cartridges probably cost more to produce than Blu Ray discs that a computer copies onto in seconds. But games cost far more to create today. TLOU 2 for example cost over $100 million dollars to make. Games back in cartridge days cost a few grand.

I bought the Atari anniversary game, that’s great. Played Combat with my 9 year old twin boy just like my dad did with me back in 81ish wen i was 4.

@vyseofhr the proper way to do that would be to actually “compete” with Sony, make AAA GOTY quality games for Xbox. Not simply throw their huge wallet about an buy all the top selling devs an add nothing to them. Just continue making the same games as they did before Microsoft came along. How long have MS owned Bethesda now an there’s not been a single new game. I know Starfield is on the way but that game was already in development long before MS came along, MS added nothing to it. Sony acquire devs an along come games like The Last of Us, Uncharted, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, etc.

@Northern_munkey what price do you think a AAA video game should cost in 2023? I remember some 30 or so years ago paying £120 for Star Fox i think on my SNES. Also paid £90 for Street Fighter Champ Edition on my SNES.

@Member_the_game exactly the same mate. Got Series X for Game Pass, that’s it. I did buy Elden Ring on it as that was before i got my 2tb extended storage on PS5 an my PS5 was full up. Bought Left 4 Dead too just because i’ve heard it praised an wanted to try it. I own about 35 physical PS5 games an 2 physical Xbox game for Series X. Never paid for a digital game on Xbox either, got a few paid for digital games on PS5.

@Total_Weirdo not really. In 2021 Sony made about $25 billion from the gaming industry. They also made $22 billion from the music an movie industry. Gaming is a large part of their profits but it’s hardly their only source of income.

@cburg i think the thing that winds folk up is Microsoft can’t compete. They’re simply not as good as Sony are at making AAA games. If Xbox released 5 exclusive games in the next year that were all incredible, 100% on the same level as games like TLOU, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, etc, everyone would love this. But Microsoft can’t do this so they’re simply trying to buy their way to the top. They’re the Manchester City of video games!!

@Deityjester it is still wat they do. MS pay to make things exclusive to Xbox. Sony have more to offer as games sell way more on Playstation so companies are willing to give Playstation exclusive content. If in the next 4 years Series X had a bunch of new, Xbox exclusive games an they were on a par or better than PS exclusives then Xbox would do better. But they won’t as they’re not as good as Sony devs at makin games.
The Last of Us, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Uncharted 4, all won GOTY. TLOU2 was ver close second to GoT. Xbox have never had a GOTY, they just buy up already huge games!!

Comparing Sony paying for timed exclusivity of a game to MS wanting to buy the company that makes one of the biggest games in the world is hilarious. Wen MS bought Bethesda Phil Spencer said games will remain multi platform, then he said some new Bethesda games would come to Playstation, then he said Starfield won’t come to Playstation, now nothing comes to Playstation. Sony buy small devs, invest, produce GOTY contender games. MS buy already huge, established devs, make the same multi platform games but make them exclusive. Big difference. I do like playing COD Team Death Match an i nearly always buy COD so if it was put on Game Pass that’s a win for me. I still think MS are trying to buy Xbox to the top. They’re the Paris St Germain of video games!!

You’ll have Xbox fans saying Playstation are hypocrites, they’ll say if Sony can do this MS should be allowed to acquire Activision Blizzard.

@NoCode23 10 times easier to pause ya game, grab ya mobile or tablet an look on there. Typin on a mobile is far easier than using a pad to put a cursor on each letter.

The shows take on it is actually more factual. The threads in the throat are called Mycelium, they’re real. Fungus does have the ability to grow huge and send signals over large distances.
