This game sales is also crazy in my country, the physical ps5 disc had sold out for a few days, I think this never happen for a ps5 disc titles, the one I remember are switch animal crossing new horizon (when it first released).

Just started playing Hogwarts Legacy, I can see why it’s so popular

I do want to play it but I had call of the mountain and lightfall already preordered. I’m bored with lightfall and it’s nearly impossible to play on my VR with my young kids insisting of sneaking into my play area so I might end up getting it soon

Shame to see Octopath Traveler II drop out of the top ten. Such an incredible game! But glad to see God of War Ragnarok holding strong in fourth.

The fact that Mario Kart 8 still selling well baffles me, like seriously who the heck doesn’t own that game?

I feel the game has a really good intro and initial 4 hours, and then the quality absolutely tanks.

The story is uninteresting, the gameplay is unvaried and its so repetitive.

Not to light a fuse for a console war, but god that limited embargo for Wo Long’s announcement where the PlayStation version wasn’t announced for 3 days made no sense for Microsoft in retrospect. I know that the majority of Xbox sales are digital and not in the UK so this isn’t really truly accurate, but this was a day 1 Gamepass game, it was never gonna sell tremendously in Xbox and no marketing would’ve been stronger for GP users than it being a day one release. Regardless of if they’re good for the industry or players or not, a lot of console manufacturer practices make sense. That was just extra money burned for no reason.

@TheCollector316 I mean it's not particularly surprising IMO. Playstation owners tend to be much more attached to buying games physically than Xbox owners (probably in part because they specifically buy it with Game Pass in mind).

On PC there's isn't even a boxed edition of the game, other than the collector's edition. I mean in fairness there wouldn't have been a boxed edition with a game disc anyway, but some games have a boxed edition that contains a steam code (e.g. Elden Ring did this)

That #8 Wo long must be 99.9% playstation version since it is available on GP day one.

I suspect MK8D, GTAV, and Minecraft are always there because they're basically essential games for most people.

@Dr_ENT Yeah it's like on Xbox they're banking on someone who wants to buy the game that for some reason isn't on Gamepass. It's like if the game was released of PS+ Extra day one, hardly anyone would be buying it.

@Deoxyr1bose Atlus also couldn't announce P3/P4 PS4's release until a day after the Xbox showcase and PS players also weren't allowed to pre-order them or have native PS5 versions.

The reason MS do this is to give off the impression they have more exclusives then they actually do. We know better of course but the regular joe only saw the announcement and so thinks its an Xbox game. Funny thing is with Wo Long is many on Xbox are downloading it through Gamepass, getting their butts kicked by the first boss and rage quiting, deleating it and then tanking the user reviews. Overall i think MS just thrown money away with Wo Long as its way too niche for Xbox users who are playing through Gamepass.

Once again, Mario Kart 8 proves to be the new GTA V. I hope an actual new entry comes out in each franchise before I die ...I mean, they've gotta do something with all those billions of dollars they make from decade- old games.

@WallyWest thats the thing with GP can try without worry. even hifi rush only has 10% or so completion rate.

id love to know how MS do contracts for GP. lumpsum based on projected sales? per download? or does a player have to play X time for a 'sale'.

I guess it's variable depending on publisher. Which is why I wonder why Sony is having such a hard time getting a better spread with PS+. Either they don't care enough or MS might be doing something henky on the back end with a contract that states the game can't be on PS+ if it's on GP. Something like that wouldn't surprise me.

@sword_9mm Sony want that $70 first and foremost. Sub service to them is second, hence it being hit and miss at times

Yeah; that makes sense. Japanese companies are very slow to adapt to the market (Nintendo!) so I can see Sony JP being against 'sub' services. Too bad for them I guess.

@themightyant ofcourse it's a mighty good game. I beat GoW:R in december 2022 and loved it. (where's the NG+ update, by the by?..)

In UA stock situation is the same still. Lots of offers from scalpers, though.

Tried Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty last night for a bit and enjoyed it. I did WeMOD the hell out of it 😅 so playing it more like an action game on "hard".

I could have replayed Metroid Prime "HD" on Dolphin at any point in the last decade. Never saw any reason to do so... a Switch rehash is not changing that.

I do still have Metroid Prime 4 on Preorder since 2018... make something new and you get my cash.

@WallyWest this is the way I feel it goes for many GP releases. The review scores definitely get driven down by people who never would have been interested anyway.
