@Bentleyma- take it from someone who has played several Star Ocean games including the original - Integrity and Faithlessness is utter garbage. Last Hope isn't great but is a superior Star Ocean experience. With the benefit of, although being "technically" Star Ocean 4, you don't need to have played the others to "get" it as it's more like a prequel. I for one enjoyed it, far more than I&F.

@kris0000 The disc, PS4 version gets a free upgrade to Intergrade but not Intermission.

@kris0000 I feel like Intergrade comes with the Intermission DLC though, so there's that. But yes, that's exactly what I did; acquire it on PS4 for £22 and get the free upgrade.

Dang it...I literally bought Scarlet Nexus last weekend for £35 at CEX. Ffs. Oh well, such is life. Still a kickass game and £5 isn't much to worry about.

Payday this weekend...if Scarlet Nexus doesn't distract me too hard (only bought two days ago), I will give the digital edition a look.

@Sakisa "near the end I think" is this your first Tales game? Expect a huge BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE and a second wind.

@Royalblues agreed, there are far too many quickly-churned-out, probably made in Unity games that use this aesthetic and turn out to have rubbish actual content like gameplay or systems.

@thefourfoldroot that's actually why I took my copy to CEX, it was worth COIN. Regret that now. I may just acquire the digital release, prevent myself from trading in again haha.

@SM1FFY01 didn't they do the HD remaster of Episode 1 Racer? Easiest platinum evarrr. But a faithful port to be sure.

@Wazeddie22 I am actually one of the very few people who has never owned a copy of GTAV, on any platform. And I'm okay with that. The remastered GTA Trilogy though....oh I am ON. Might preorder that.

@Old-Red spoilers: GTA6 will be an emulator which plays GTA5 and only that, for the whole game.

For me this game was the highlight of the presentation. Ghostwire is going to get a preorder too, and maybe Gran Turismo 7 and Tchia. I'm glad someone not!Japanese is doing a bona-fide sci-fi-post-apocalyptic game that is its own new IP. (Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see a PS5 upgraded NieR:Automata, another game that did SF/PA amazingly, but nice to see something from Korea.)

@OmegaStriver see also: how mad I was that Sega held back Valkyria Chronicles 4 on PS4 and Xbox One in a technical sense because people begged for it on the Switch (which I will never understand; Nintendo had no history of having that series before 4). I agree; I didn't buy a PS5 to play slightly higher res PS4 games.

@VillaRosa-LVPx seriously. Only one other time did I get so fed-up with hearing about a game incessantly that I actively ignored it and refused to even look at videos of it let alone buy or play it; Mew-genics. They literally released a new feature via YouTube and all the games press EVERY SATURDAY so the damn thing was constantly in my RSS feeds. Hated seeing it so much.

now see I was going to pass on this Tales game because the press material leading up to its release painted it as purely high fantasy, to a much larger degree than previous entries, and I HATE fantasy...but now the reviews are coming in and there's definitely an element of scifi there, I might change my tune. For the record my favourite Tales game was Symphonia, that should give you some idea.

I've got friends with PS5s who I can play Overcooked with, so no huge loss.....actually kinda intrigued by Predator, so why not. Actually not a car crash of a month like the past two.

@Golem25 I too had thought I'd read somewhere that this was leaked to be PS Plus in September which would have been mad, because I was actually looking out for this one, but now they're telling us it releases in October....either Plus will get it early, or they're going to give us the immensely crap-sounding FIST next month.

@IonMagi the only thing I haven't done in the PS3 game is Neverland, but I'm specifically building Vashyron out to do that in the 4k remaster (he learns 50% Scratch Rate Full a lot earlier than Zephyr) - want that platinum! Haha

ohhhh that's brave words. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Resonance of Fate (I've had the PS3 version since its release day, and the 4K remaster got purchased on Steam and PS4 to show my appreciation) but a lot of people dislike it or think it's a terrible game (it isn't). If we get that free, there'll be a lot of people mouthing off about it.

I'm going to go against the grain here: I would like Recompile or Kena. FIST sounds crap, Chinese 2D platformer...come on, Sony, give us some actual PS5 stuff. Something that really cooks, and shows off what our console can do.

Hmm, I might throw caution to the wind and jump on this, I was looking forward to it anyways and I think I could live with the negatives.

@GravyThief Initially I did the same with 3, downloading/patching/burning(or emulating), but I wanted that Authentic Experience™ so I imported a real Japanese copy, made an ISO of that (totally legal to do) and patched that ISO. I also wanted to run on real hardware, hence the PS3 CFW.

What I want to see: Electrosphere remade in Unreal 5 on the new consoles, in its full form in the West which is clearly where Project Aces are heading with Skies Unknown (see: Jaeger going on about his son, who we know is Erich in Electrosphere, hints about drones and even the COFFIN system being developed with Mihaly). I think Namco needs to understand the West is ready for a game like Electrosphere, in both "if you make it, they will buy" and "Ghost in the Shell did better in the West than it was thought it would" (for the uninitiated, Electrosphere's original version had -heavy- GITS vibes).
Will also accept: new game telling the story between Skies Unknown and Electrosphere, like the development steps that resulted in the Strangereal we see in that game.

(do you really need to ask if I'm a fan of the series? XD put it this way: I own both versions of Electrosphere legitimately, AND custom firmware'd my BC PS3 so I could play my Japanese disc on it and patch it with Project Nemo's English translation patch. And had 7 on preorder since the day they announced it which, IIRC, was a good five years before the release.)

I first laid eyes on this last week, and have been thinking of preordering - except I can't preorder. So I have added it to my wishlist and will, in all likelihood, and depending on price, acquire it on Thursday when it's out.

While I'm a rabid fanboy of the first Life is Strange and am disappointed the remaster is being delayed, if it's for the team's wellbeing then that's perfectly ok, I'd rather it come out and they were all safe than they put their health on the line just to meet a deadline. I'll hold on to my preorder

@Korgon truth. Still have memories of scaring myself stupid playing F.E.A.R and Dead Space on my PC that had a 5.1 speaker set on and a soundcard to match. I'll never look at F.E.A.R the same way again...

No. Complete garbage. I gave A Plague Tale a chance, but I don't like fantasy - I dislike medieval fantasy even more - and deleted it after ten minutes.

from someone who grew up in the 90s, I agree with this statement. Being born in the late 80s and being a Console Nut when Sega and Nintendo were at war with each other taught me this: if gaming's your passion, support them all! (but death to Nintendo.)

aight now listen up:
a true "gamer" doesn't own one kind of console and go BUT I LOVE XBOX/PLAYSTATION THE OTHER CAN GET OUT. Under my TV you have Sony, Microsoft, Sega (...kind of a specialist subject) and, oddly for a Sega fanboy, Nintendo. And you know what? I get the best of all worlds, by not limiting myself. Xbox can have their Game Pass, I'll still play on pretty much anything. Why? There are some things each brand does better or worse than the other and the smart money's on supporting the developers, not the platform.

(there will always be that part of me that wants revenge on Sony for the absolutely brutal murder of the Dreamcast by the PS2, though. I have mostly learned to ignore it....but old gamers have GRUDGES and they die hard.)
