Life Is Strange: True Colors is still on track for its 10th September release date – despite a heart-stopping letter being published on the series’ social media accounts – but Life Is Strange Remastered and Life Is Strange: Before the Storm Remastered will not deploy until Early 2022. Square Enix explained that it’s eager to alleviate pressure on the team – especially due to the ongoing pandemic.
Don’t worry if you’re planning to purchase the Life Is Strange: True Colors Ultimate Edition, as you’ll still get access to the remasters when they release next year. In the meantime, a DLC named Wavelengths will deploy on 30th September, with its focus being on Steph Gringrich. A trailer for that will debut tomorrow.

This will be my first Life is Strange experience. Have only heard good things so far!
So i guess the physical edition is. It really the physical one because you have to download the rest ill pass.
@Lightning_FF13 nice I'm downloading it now!
While I'm a rabid fanboy of the first Life is Strange and am disappointed the remaster is being delayed, if it's for the team's wellbeing then that's perfectly ok, I'd rather it come out and they were all safe than they put their health on the line just to meet a deadline. I'll hold on to my preorder
There best be a way of getting the dlc if you buy the physical version, as they have been very cagey on that.
Didn't realise before the storm was getting remastered in addition to LiS 1. That game was criminally underated in my opinion
@mrtennis1990
First game and before the storm were decent, 2 was very medicore. Hope they recapture what made the first two good with this one.
The DLC episode was already announced. It was part of the deluxe/ultimate edition.
I hope this is implying it'll release as a separate, purchasable DLC for those with the standard edition, but it's not really clear one way or another.
I know most will dissagree, but I consider the xbox game tell me why, to be a life is strange game. Only those that have played it will know why. Looking forward to the new life is strange next month,got the ultimate edition,so im set for the remasters as well,whenever they release.
@Pleasance I didn't actually know that. I guess the date is new, then? Trailer tomorrow anyway!
@get2sammyb I remember being surprised by it when reading the Steam page for the game, like they kind of backdoor announced it. Either way, I'm excited. Thanks for the update!
@mrtennis1990 Ep 1 For Life is Strange 2 is Also Free.
Why are the remasters taking longer than the new game
@Areus heck yes!
@PegasusActual93 You mean make the protagonist a girl? Yeah they did that
@PegasusActual93 @tabris95 I Wouldn't Mind Seeing Them Try Their Hand at a Black Protagonist Next Male Or Female.If Telltale Could Do It With Lee And Clementine I'm Sure They Could To.
@Areus I think they could really nail that
Sad news about the Remastered Collection delay, but happy we have a confirmed date for the Steph DLC!
September 30th can't get here soon enough...I may just attempt beating LiS 2 finally before tackling it.
@tabris95
I mean bring back the charm of the first two games. The writing in 2 took a very clear nosedive. First two games weren't exactly pulitzer winning levels of writing but they were still charming.
