Oof. I'll stick to the Switch version then. I already played the PS4 version, and it's worth another $60 for a version that's on-the-go... but a full $70 for a framerate upgrade and haptic feedback? Someone at their marketing department is delusional.

I completely agree, and I'm glad somebody said it as well as you did, Liam. E3 had become a yearly tradition with me and my siblings - we'd make family snacks as a good luck charm, and sit down for a week of hopeful announcements. Now that they're spread out over the year (which is, admittedly, probably for the best as far as the developers are concerned), we're left on pins and needles all year long hoping for middling announcements that may never come. I can't forget the nearly two year deadtime between Nintendo Directs either. Covid is naturally a factor, but as a consumer I can't help but feel worn out and disappointed.

Between performance and appearance I'd say this needs quite some work before it's worth the full price tag. It wouldn't be a Sonic game without some jank though, so I'll set my expectations accordingly.

Melty Blood, as a main-stage game at EVO?? I'd say that at least comes as a surprise, seeing as it's best known for being played in the bathrooms at fighting tournaments on 10-year-old laptops.

Shame, MBTL isn't there. I've played an absurd amount of Melty Blood since it launched this year - easily my GOTY.

It was like it was catered specifically to my interests (sans Uncharted and GotG). I was worried I was wasting my time like I did with Gamescom until they opened up with KOTOR.

I'd consider it if they consolidated Funimation and Crunchyroll into one service - wrapping everything into one yearly payment would be ideal for me. Otherwise I'm not entirely sure if I'd be interested in this.

I think I'd still generally prefer E3 - I understand the importance of only presenting if you have things to actually show, but at the same time, I found last year's presentations - which were spread out all over half the year - to be equally disappointing to this year's presentations. Between the two, I'd rather concentrate all that disappointment into one week with a few choice announcements then spend all year scrambling to keep up with... the same thing.

Excited for the prospect of Hajimari no Kiseki being announced in the west. Maybe we'll get the Zero Kai/Ao Kai games as well? One can only hope.

This reads rather like E3's death certificate. It's a shame - while I (like most people) had a lot of complaints about E3 in recent years, it was a lot more convenient to have almost all the video game news for the next year condensed into three days of presentations rather than the piecemeal nonsense that went on last summer. Hopefully publishers can find a way to put all their shows a lot closer to one another, so that it's not an absolute hassle trying to catch them all.

Putting down Skyrim for a bit to work on getting the ToCS plats again. Hopefully I'll have these done by the time we can go outside unmasked again.

I was originally interested in grabbing the Remastered alongside MM, but now I'm not so sure. I think I'll skip the preorder and wait for Sony to decide how to navigate this. I have at least a little faith their Marketing team isn't dumb enough to tell customers to suck it up.

@Jacko11 If I didn't buy it and the studio closed down, it is not my fault. You cannot fault consumers for the internal managing of company money. When Nintendo had a net loss in Q4 of 2014, the company survived without mass layoffs by having President Satoru Iwata, the rest of the company's board, and several of the well known veteran developers like Shigeru Miyamoto take a pay cut. If this project ends in failure - and despite the growing boycotts, I doubt it will - it would similarly be up to executives at Warner Bros. and AT&T to figure out how to deal with it.

So to answer your question simply: I'd be upset, but it is a matter out of my hands. My personal $70 will not make or break a game studio - neither will my decision to withhold it.

@Jacko11 It is on David Haddad, president of Warner Bros. Games (and ultimately of Portkey Games), to figure out how to recoup any losses and repair their reputation. It's an internal issue and frankly not a problem that consumers have to consider.

@zupertramp @Jacko11 By the time this game comes out, the rank and file employees have been paid for this project and moved on to the next one. The only people getting a scrap of the sales money are the director, executives, and JKR herself. Please bring your nonsense elsewhere.

Not unsurprising. I wonder what this means for PS4 ports of PS3 games though, like the first two Trails of Cold Steel games. I'd assume they're fine from what little I know of how ports work, but I'm not 100% sure.

Mmm. I loved the original, and I love Miles, but this really isn't enough for me to buy the whole game over again unless it's on a substantially sized sale. Sounds like I'll be waiting on this one.

Making a video game fully accessible to the blind would be quite the feat, but we'll see at launch if blind players find it to be as accessible as they make it sound. Personally, I'm just going to take the opportunity to max out the subtitle size. More games need that option.

Honestly? I hope it's something super-stylized, like Persona 5 for instance. The pseudo-realistic graphics from Yakuza and TLOU are nice, and it's not like they don't look good - but I'm afraid that game graphics will drift more towards trying to look "real" than finding their own artistic style.

If they need to delay to keep their workers safe, then so be it. I can absolutely respect placing their employees ahead of their own profits. Then again, it's gonna ring hollow if they don't address the whole Uighur forced labor thing, which they've not publically addressed at all after the allegations were leveled. @undeadlogan Sure did. The creators' involvement guarantees nothing. GRRM was directly involved in Game of Thrones for years and the show was still a trainwreck. I'll believe this is good when I see it. Until then, I'll remain uneasy.

Something to note is that the blog post from Marvelous only mentions that the Premium Edition in Europe is being cancelled; nothing about the NA Premium Edition. Not sure if it's just a typo or what. Hopefully this means I'm not about to get a cancelation notice from Gamestop.

I cannot stress enough that an endorsement from Grimes is practically a condemnation of this game. You can't trust anybody who got it on with Elon Musk to have good taste.
