Re: LawBreakers Publisher Blames PUBG for Poor Sales

consolfreak1982

Id also say that Overwatch is obviously the most potent competitor here on consoles - especially PS4 - and well, maybe they should have also sticked to initial Free2Play plans or - like I suggested - make it free at „psplus“ at realease - worked with RocketLeague so .. missed opportunities!
Great game tho , I played it a few times and it’s Fun. What a shame

Re: Analyst: Gamers Are Overreacting Over Star Wars, Publishers Should Increase Prices

consolfreak1982

LOL games are too expensive - they release unfinished and with contend cut out and micro transactions built in - you never get a whole package when you buy a game nowadays. Oh and second - with the example of SWBF2 - you’d be better off watching those films than playin that game - cuz underneath that graphic there’s still the same shallow game from before. Maybe SW Fans get some out of it but everyone else has way better alternatives when it comes to shooters on and offline.

Re: Review: Star Wars Battlefront 2 (PS4)

consolfreak1982

Thanks for the honest review - all lootbox drama aside SWBF2 is still the same shallow and uninspired lame game as the first one - an easy cash grab with the big name on it, shallow gameplay without any substance covered up in graphics that look great at first sight - nothing more! I just hope the Sales will be affected for once - EA has to be shown that their countless greed Is no longer acceptable (it all started with Battlefield4 - i remember this as the most disappointing start of a game ever With a „unlock all“ dlc for the price of the whole game lol)

Re: 'We Will Fix This' Says Star Wars Battlefront 2 Dev as Loot Box Outrage Rumbles On

consolfreak1982

I guess the damage is done already - but I doubt that it will affect the sales since it has the SW label on it - the first day buyers are always the ones that suffer most - that’s the reason why I never buy Day one any more no matter what game comes out. I just wish that - after all this mess - EA gets at least a bit of a backlash now and starts to rethink this topic- oh and by the way - this loot box Desaster is one thing (and I really enjoy that shstorm) - not a big PR Desaster since there’s advertising non stop on TV for the game atm - but all the fuss about those loot boxes and unbalanced matches is just one side - the other is - simply put - a graphically stunning but overall mediocre game

Re: Review: The Evil Within 2 (PS4)

consolfreak1982

Still haven’t finished it (chapter 13) but as far as I can tell by now the game deserves a higher rating - at least an 8 imo. Graphics and gameplay are hugely improved over the first game , controls are fluid , exploring the open levels is rewarding and tense. The story is good enough to keep going as well - and the constant unexpected scenery changes and surprises make progression always intriguing because you never know what will happen next. Brilliant horror Game!

Re: Review: Need for Speed Payback (PS4)

consolfreak1982

I saw this coming right from the announcement- I’m not a big Fan of anything „Fast and Furious“ to put it lightly - but if done right and with love and effort then it could turn out as something good - sadly , year by year, they keep messing it up. The last NFS was finally a step back to where the series was best - underground - especially 2 - a 3rd one with today’s graphics would be an instant Hit - or maybe also a Most Wanted 2 - but omg somebody at EA must really not care a thing about the franchise or what Fans want. I’ll skip on this one like I did with „rivals“ and I don’t think I’ll miss out on anything. Just a shame to see a former beloved Franchise getting trashed like that.

Re: Review: Call of Duty: WWII (PS4)

consolfreak1982

I played it for a few hours and tbh I expected more but I’m satisfied as well - all this hate about Infinite Warfare which i never understood by the way lead to high expectations and tbh WW2 is not the new Holy Grail - it plays like CoD should , the graphics are somewhat on the same level (although I was more impressed with the IW scenario), the game looks as great and polished as you can expect - haven’t got a chance to play much of the Campaign or Zombie mode so far but what Ive seen was typical COD - nothing shockingly new , but hmu a bit more immersive due to the „realistic historical setting / background“ - multiplayer overall was some good Fun for a few rounds. Many snipers and People that lay down as soon as they see you - welcome back good old days - no more double jump and sliding , but the gameplay still feels fast enough and precise - Weapons and Maps are good as far as I have seen. Still haven’t tried out Zombies or War Mode.
Haven’t had any lags or connectivity issues on any time I played , no long waiting in lobby or whatsoever. Big improvement over Infinte Warfare in this regard. The headquarter is a nice idea , especially that you can try out weapons.
I play on PS4 Pro with a 4K TV by the way and I have a pretty good connection overall.
I think the score for this is a bit too low lol haven’t fully experienced what all the game has to offer but just from what I’ve seen so far it deserves a higher rate. But yea , maybe cuz I’m a Fan of CoD - who knows - it’s more modern to hate on the series I know but I skip on that trend and rather enjoy the game

Re: Cliffy B 'Has to Keep LawBreakers Alive' After 'Humbling' Launch

consolfreak1982

I really hope so! LB is so much fun! Just needs a few more maps , modes (deathmatch / tdm) and - imo- an improved class Switch (takes way too long to change the class in between matches / after spawn which kinda always breaks me out of the immersion and flow). Idk i kinda think that a great way to put LB in the spotlight would be as to make it free for psplus members for a month - i think it would attract quite some people and in convinced that many would get hooked and attracted to the fluid and fast gameplay! It worked with rocket league so maybe this would be an opportunity to save LB and get it known - there's hardly any marketing been for it. Pretty tough I bet and I know the constant overwatch comments get eyes rolling by now but overwatch just is more than simple competition - it just owns. I just can't say that my time with Lawbreakers was way more fun than I had with overwatch, which bored me after a few hours / weeks.

Re: It Looks Like Okami HD Really Is Coming to PS4

consolfreak1982

@Party_Cannon ... well .. no offend but .. I have a PS4 pro .. i sold my PS3 as soon as i got the standard PS4 way back when it was released .. and in all honesty - it's 2017 - I seriously dont play PS3 any more lol come on man ..but well ty for the Tipp anyway

Re: It Looks Like Okami HD Really Is Coming to PS4

consolfreak1982

Omg yesssss ^^ I so wished that Okami would come to PS4 and I really hope for a visual remastered version that makes good use of the hardware and let this gem of a game shine as bright as can be so it finally gets the attention it deserves! One of the most removable and gripping "Zelda likes" ( sorry for that) but with enough personality and uniqueness of its own! Simply put - I can't wait to relieve on of my most beloved games of the ps2 in HD ! I'd even pay full price for this one - it's that good

Re: Xbox One Exclusive Dead Rising 4 Repackaged for PS4

consolfreak1982

I played the first , second and third and never finished them - the third was the weakest entry for sure , although it was a pretty decent start Titel for the one back then. Idk about the 4th but judging from reviews and videos it may be anhöbet flawed mediocre game in the series with some bad glitches which hopefully get patched for the ps release.

Re: Super Meat Boy Forever Confirmed for PS4 in 2018

consolfreak1982

Nothin against a challenging difficulty but meat boy is beyond anything than that - since I never even halfway finished the first one I'm gonna pass lol overall it's great that there's so much interest in it as there is a second one coming - all who finish the first one are gods

Re: Interview: Cliff Bleszinski Discusses LawBreakers and Leading Boss Key Productions

consolfreak1982

Great Interview! Lawbreakers is one hell of an amazing shooter - it's fast gameplay and the overall flow is unlike anything else at the moment. What I think the game needs is first of all a Deathmatch/TDM mode (in all honesty: why is that missing?) and second they should work on the speed of changing your class since it takes a few seconds to load them up and chance them which really breaks the Flow of the game to adjust to situations.
The price is valid for the game - although it may have been a better choice to make it Free to play in the end. The only thing I can think of that would help put lawbreakers in the spotlight on PS4 is as to put it on psplus - it worked with RocketLeague - and I think that if lawbreakers would be for free for a month , featured in the ps store and plus Lineup , many people would give it a go and get hooked.
The overall comparison to oberwatch makes my eyes roll still - I can see why so many people think it's a simple clone but after having played overwatch for hours on end (and stopped playing it a while ago) I can say that lawbreakers is totally not like OW. It's true that the characters are not as unique and remarkable as in OW, which could be improved by simply adding some lore into the game (like backstorys/character profiles) - not a single char of LB sticks to you as much as the cast of OW - but after playing a few rounds you still don't care about that - but : the Chars lack the personality of those in OW.
As by this day I can say that I never have to wait longer than a minute to find a game , it runs smoothly and plays just like that. It's hard to get into - yes - trying out all the classes and finding those that fit your playstyle is a task , learning how to effectively play them is another. It's mostly due to the gravity which really puts you into situations no other shooter can today , since simple running around on the floor will not lead you anywhere. The challenge further evolves into which class is best used for your current team setup but figuring out that takes a lot of time I admit (and that's why I think that an instant swap of class without having to wait for them to load up is so important and should be worked on asap). But once you figure this out LB really draws you in. All in all I also think that the classes are pretty good balanced so far - some may seem a bit op but once you get a bit of understanding it's skill that matters and you can overcome every class by one other and counter.
I really hope that lawbreakers future will be bright - it's a great game , and just because everyone seems to play OW these days it's simply put a well done distraction. I can't see myself returning to OW again , mainly because it's just not catchy enough for me. What i felt in lawbreakers so far on the other hand is a lightning fast gameplay that changes everytime - no match plays like the one before. You fail hard , you score big , and even after hours on the same map there are always new approaches for you to figure out and new situations that occur in the heat of the battle - and with you getting "better" you have more and more options on hand to deal with battles.
As by now I would rate the game an 8/10 - I really like the fast gameplay , the fluid combat and controls (and graphics!) and there's tons to unlock as well.
I will continue to support the game and talk about it so that people in my area get to know it (there is no commercial or so whatsoever for LB to be found anywhere ... no wonder people don't have a clue).
Make this psplus and it will be fame As f... - the game is that good , just needs a bit of spotlight!

Re: How Much Better Does Dragon's Dogma Look on PS4?

consolfreak1982

DragonsDogma was a Great Game - and features one of the most remorable boss/enemy encounters I remember (spoiler: while walkin through some woods all of a sudden a huge dragon was slowly walking there in the middle of the night - I have been crushed hard the first time I encountered him lol was so epic though) - and since I never played the expansion "dark arisen" I am more than interested in picking this up again - for a reasonable price

Re: Review: ABZÛ (PS4)

consolfreak1982

The game is simply put brilliant!
Graphic and sound are among the best I have ever experienced - combined with the tight and "natural" controls it immerses you into the game unlike hardly anything else I have played in the last years. Abzu is stunning.

Re: Review: Pyre (PS4)

consolfreak1982

@gbanas92 thanks for your reply first of all ^^ I get that of course and I'm glad it has local mp! I just really like the battle gameplay and think it would be great and suited for some online matches just really hope for a patch that will include other languages as English for the subtitles

Re: Review: Pyre (PS4)

consolfreak1982

Update: played around 5 hours so far - graphic and sound design are both great. Gameplay wise the Visual Novel Part is very well and charmingly written, the characters are intriguing and unique so far. The battle system is something totally unexpected at first, but offers more depth and strategy than one thinks on first sight! Every char has unique abilities and plays differently , the battles are hectic at first, but very simple to get into it. Battles are tense and offer a "Basketball//handball" kind of sports gameplay that's strangely perfectly fitting and unique in its own way. So glad that there's a multiplayer! My only two complaints so far - only English texts (no German subtitles sadly - hope this gets patched just like in Stardew Valley!) and no online multiplayer (which would have maybe set this game on a top spot due to its Accessibility). I can fully understand why it got a 9/10 and I'm only just at the begging! Wasn't a huge fan of bastion or transistor (those are like many people before said overrated, but still unique and enjoyable on their own!) - but as I was guessing Pyre is their most appealing game to me so far. Great review, great game!

Re: Review: Pyre (PS4)

consolfreak1982

Oh god I am so getting this !! Bastion and Transistor were both good, but Pyre seems like their best game to date - I especially love the Design and the fact it has multiplayer! Reminds me a bit of The Banner Saga i admit (not gameplay wise) which I'm a huge Fan of. Can't wait to download and play it ^^

Re: BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Announced, Crossover Fighter Featuring Persona Characters and More

consolfreak1982

Well .. pretty nice .. when it comes to crossover fighters I'm always a bit "meh" because it's pretty cheap copy paste already known and overly used characters / character sprites .. but well c
Was hoping for something you know .. like "brand new" .. since blazblue is now "officially done" since Central Fiction .. but hey they also announced a new DLC Fighter for BBCF (Jubei !!! Finally !!! Can u believe it!!!) ..
anyways lookin forward since 2D fighters are rare .. it's gonna be PS4 and maybe switch but doubtfully on Xbox lol

Re: Surprisingly Gory Fighter Samurai Shodown V Special Slashes onto PS4, Vita This Summer

consolfreak1982

Yes Yes Yes !! Just glad for every SNK fighter they bring back - but why not 6 or the whole Antology ? I just bought 6 and I'm greatly disappointed that it's just a PS2 Port with no full screen adjust! Shame !!
Can't remember 5 , only SamSho that sticked to me was 6 since it had the most Chars to chose from ^^ but 6 didn't have any blood or finishers so I'm rly lookin forward to 5 Comin to PS4 - with trophies and graphic options/full screen option - well and an online mode lol
By the way - if anyone is interested - Last Blade 2 and Garou Mark of the Wolves for PS4 are extremely well made ports of two of the best fighting games of all time - go get them asap as they r in Sale Atm! Brought to current console with love and care it blows me away how well they both hold up even compared to modern 2D fighting games. And well .. nostalgia and SNK Fanboy bonus lol
Oh SNK pls bring the other SamShos too and also - most importantly - Art of Fighting 3 haha

Re: Review: Valkyria Revolution (PS4)

consolfreak1982

I really can't believe that score .. I have to see it for myself , all bad reviews aside .. I watched some YouTube gameplay and seriously this Doenst look all that bad not at all ! Ugh .. I'll wait for a sale now , won't be too long for that one to go down with the price tag

Re: DLC Review: Diablo III's Necromancer Is Fantastically Grim Fun

consolfreak1982

Nothin against that new class - it's been ages since there was something Diablo going on so yeah .. but still - no new Areas like fr ? Lmao - like fr ! No way I'm gonna pay for just another class.
It's a shame how Diablo gets treated .. I know it's a money issue since there are no "loot boxes" or things like that where you could invest real money in .. better work on Diablo4 already Blizzard ..

Re: Bungie Hopes People Will Complain About 'Too Much Story' in Destiny 2

consolfreak1982

Well tbh I didn't really care for the story in the first one - it did a somewhat well job but Destiny had me going gameplay and not story - wise. It's questionable if that story aspect rly is what people crave to be improved with Destiny - Id rather go for loads of endgame content and motivating systems that cling together perfectly and expand upon what the first Destiny did - gameplay wise - the shooting in Destiny felt rly great, so did playing with others. Even with RPG elements attached I rather have some more raids and epic loot than a handful of lengthy cutscenes ... just sayin
