Okay, so we're a bit late to the party on this one, but we only recently got around to playing Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel and Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II on Vita. The third game in the series, unsurprisingly titled Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III, is making the jump to PlayStation 4 later this year in Japan, and it'll likely get localised at some point in 2018.

Unlike many sequels these days, the second and third titles are actually direct sequels, meaning that they take place after the events of the previous game and carry on the story. In other words, to get the full experience, you need to play through the whole saga. That may seem a little daunting, but it does allow developer Falcom to dish out an expansive narrative full of returning characters and plot lines.

Naturally, with the third game coming to PS4, many fans have been asking for the first two titles to be ported to the current-gen console. Trails of Cold Steel was recently released on PC, so it's certainly not out of the question.

Adding fuel to the fire, Falcom essentially asked fans on Twitter if it should bring the PS3 and Vita titles over to PS4. As you'd expect, the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

For those out of the loop, the Trails of Cold Steel games are Japanese RPGs that place a focus on character interactions. They're well written and pleasantly paced, and we'd love to pen a couple of positive reviews if we ever get the time to do so.
