god this looks so trashy it just has to be entertaining somehow LOL haha games like this are like perfect for just having fun without having to think too much when its on sale some day I might give it a chance
yeah, MGS has always been big in Japan, of course what was said about xbox in japan: MS should just give up on this market already - the only way they could have sold quite a few consoles over there would be with some major exklusive deals of japanese brands - imagine how sales would explode if the next persona 5, final fantasy 15, kingdom hearts 3 and dragon quest would be xbox-exklusive ... glad to see the Vita on place 3 in the ranking, its well deserved - that console is far from dead imo (many people around the net argue so it seems)
looks great so far, besides - ChronoTrigger and PhantasyStar are not the worst games to take as an inspiration I suggest LOL Would really love this on the Vita tbh
@B3ND3R - yes, im aware of the fact that it has a 2015 release date - but only for japan and us but since Im from austria/europe I doubt P5 will release here before spring 2016
thanks for the review, good score! I just got into this genre so Im interested in this, probably gonna get it once I finished Danganronpa, Virtues Last Reward and SteinsGate ^^ Although I admit that Amnesia might be a little to "harmless/normal" LOL after Danganronpa I dont think any visual novel can intrigue and disturb me even more haha (maybe Virtues Last Reward which im about to start soon).
tbh Im not into "hunter games", but this one here is extremely appealing, the story/setting sounds awesome and the graphics seem to be very good too. The Anime Syle of the characters is just too appealing to me, and from what Ive heard/read it has a ton of customisation and a very strong online multiplayer - Im gonna get this as soon as it is on sale the next time
since there is no review for the Vita version (why?) - its highly recommended Since it is cross buy (and also cross save) you get it for PS4 and Vita at the same time, and its worth every cent it costs - its just like the good old Metroidvania games, gameplay is very fluid, graphics and soundtrack will appeal to every retro fan, and the controlls are on spot. to be honest the game is hard as nails, sometimes just plain unfair imo
but the slow and steady progression makes it very addicting, the overall game leaves little to be desired, so I would give it an honest rating of 9/10.
sorry but the game deserves at least a 8/10, i personally would rate it 9/10 theres hardly any game this PS4/One Gen that impressed me and all my friends as much as this so far - the graphics are stunning, the tension and atmosphere are extremely tense and frightening, and the game is very long
imo totally underrated all over the internet every horror fan must try it out at least, its scary as hell
besides FF15 and Kingdom Hearts 3 this is definitely my ultimate Most Wanted of 2016 - my expectations are sky high, since the predecessors, especially Persona4, are milestones of the genre and cult classics
oh - and did I mention that I have hardly ever seen a more appealing and stylish Anime Graphics before? The Character Design looks extremely intriguing, and honestly I have not a single, not even the smalles doubt about the gameplay, fighting, story whatsoever for not being totally overwhelmingly stellar - YES dudes - Im hyped as can be ^^
the game is insanely hard - I would really love to get into, I like the overall gameplay and style, it but the extreme difficulty is just unbearable for me. The only difficult games I like are the Souls Games - and they are much more rewarding - but here theres too much focus on luck imo Also a shame that it is not cross-buy
I tried that one out on XBoxOne when it was on Gold some time ago - like Mithrandir said I never got past the tutorial, I thought the game was overly complicated and confusing - although I love the style of the game!
owned the WiiU Version and I admit the off screen inventory management on the pad was extremely annoying imo - it gave the game more tension, but honestly lookin away from the TV all the time was the worst part for me. I might get this once it is on sale in the future - the atmosphere and overall gameplay was really good!
I will be playing VLR soon but I would really want to start with 999 first, such a shame that it is not available in any form on the PSN - i personally think that, since a third installment is now officially announced, they should somehow get 999 on the PSN too, even if its the "novel-only" iOS version - for starters like me it would be great to experience the whole story from the start, not just from VLR
the games really cool - but insanely hard got it on my iphone when it was on sale some while ago - love the style and sound, gameplay is absolutely great - if it comes to the vita i might buy it again ^^
the game is really good - honestly, one of the best Tales games imo its a bit more "childish", but its really well made and has very much love in the details ... every Fan of the Series will enjoy it, though it is a bit light -hearted
besides the DS Episode "Tierkreis" and the "Tactics"-game this is the only episode I have never played of that Series - my favourites are: 1, 2, and 5, 4 was extremely poor imo and a total disappointment, whereas 5 was on par as brilliant as 1 and 2. Such a shame my PS3 is broken, my hopes are that someday I can play it in europe on my ps4 or vita ^^
hmmm i dont knooooohoww .. i was totally hyped for LittleBigPlanet back then but the awkward controls just turned me totally off - now I doubt the gameplay of MediaMolecule-games in general, the style and overall gameplay sure is great but I just dont get along with the controls Im sorry imo its not as fluid and on spot as Nintendo Jump and Runs the only way I think I might play it one day is on my PSVita
yeah - the style is extremely appealing - I just love it but the extreme difficulty makes me wonder if I will have nerves for it if it ever comes to europe - gotta save all my nerves for DarkSouls3 hahah
I just got the first game (Trigger Happy Havoc) and I am totally blown away - the game creates a need to play unlike hardly any game released the last months ... maybe years. Its absolutely brilliant and I am extremely lookin forward to continue this series, may be one of my favourite games of all my life so far, so Im extremely hyped for the sequel (and of course the newly released spin-off). Especially those light RPG elements sound extremely cool and I guess they just fit in perfectly (not that I would miss it in the first game) and add just a little more addictiveness to an already extremely addicting game - cant WAIT to finish the first and jump into the sequel ^^
totally agree, the price is way too high - besides I really dont like those side bars - thas like a no go for me - if its not full screen its just too small and somewhat awkward for me, just my personal opinion
I really really want that game - but I will have to wait to play it, just have no time for it - gotta finish a few other games first, but if im lucky the price has dropped by then ^^
Update: got it and played it all over the weekend - the game is absolutely brilliant, one of the best and most tense horror experiences since idk when - the graphics are breathtakingly gorgeous, the atmosphere is tense and full of suspense, the characters/the whole setting/story are very well done and something I can relate to - which helps to draw into the game of course - and although its more "movie" than "game" its extremely well crafted and enjoyable, even for others around that just watch the player
I hope the whole genre will evolve around this - Until Dawn/Alien Isolation/Outlast (+ "PT//SilentHillsDemo") - THOSE are examples of how a horror game should be today - I really enjoyed ResidentEvilRevelations2 for example too, especially in coop, but compared to the tension and overall atmosphere it just doesnt stand ANY chance compared to the games I mentioned
I was really lookin forward to UntilDawn since it was announced for PS3 (and Move) and it turned out to be much more awesome than I wished for or expected it to be
One of the best games of 2015 and one of the best overall PS4 Games so far
I love MGS but Im not gonna get this any time soon - my videogame backlog is just too big right now, got myself a Vita and Persone 4 Golden and Danganronpa just suck me in, besides I gotta finish Batman Arkham Knight first, and with Xenoblade and Tales of Zestiria on the horizon I doubt I will be playing this any time soon...
gotta play Virtues Last Reward before this is coming - just got into this genre with Danganronpa and MAN have I been missing out on something! just a shame that the first entry of the series is only available on the DS and as a "novel-only" on iOs as well ... I really wish the devs somehow bring 999 (even when its only the "novel") also to PSN, I mean seriously, for anyone who wants to get into the series there should be a chance to play the first game without going to another platform
WOW ... yet ANOTHER BB Game ... sorry but Ill pass, I would only grab this for 10 Euro or so if its on sale - why do ArkSystemWorks do that? Always releasing countless of updates of their games (just like Capcom) without adding anything particularly meaningful? Dont get me wrong I thought Calamity Trigger was amazing - it really blew me away back then - but I seriously lost track on how many updates this game became in the last years - always only adding 2-3 new characters, the story only gets more and more confusing and not understandable with each new update and tbh I dont see the gameplay evolving at all. BB is awesome, but its really time they make a new one, a brand new one, and overhaul it from the ground, make it more accessible, understandable and give me a feeling that the game is fnished, not having to be afraid of that if I buy it, three months later there will be a new update releasing...
Day One Purchase for me - Doom is the Series I grew up with, my father used to play this and I always watched him play ^^ I really hope they dont change much of the typical gameplay, and add Horror Elements like in Doom3. Im extremely hyped for this
all in all im ok with the score Im a huge Fan of MKX and I must admit Im in love and disappointed at the same time. There are just so many of my favourite Charakters missing, the price for the DLC Characters is beyond good and evil, the Story Mode is extremely well made but way too short, and its certainly clear that the graphics could look way much better on the PS4/One. Im still hoping that theres a huge update in development bringing me tons of new content - I just cant get enough of MK ^^
I got it on the WIIU - and I simply cant recommend it enough, really glad all the other plattforms and therefore many many more players can actually enjoy this brilliant 2D masterpiece.
Im really angry that SE made it cross save but not cross buy! That is just so typical of SE The Game itself is as brilliant as it always was - even more so with the graphical improvements and the new arranged Soundtrack. I can live with that score, I would love to rate it higher myself but there are two things that I find frustrating: the hunt for the ultimate weapons (you know what im talking about ... chocobo race...) - and that the game features NO cross buy
the game really is amazing - its the best Witcher Game so far (imo) and has lots of love for the detail, graphics, soundtrack, gameplay, story, the game shines and is throughout extremely well crafted. BUT after completing the main quest i simply had enough of it, i didnt care about the side quests or exploring every last inch of that gameworld enough. It also got a bit tiresome towards the end of the story. I didnt had any game breaking glitches during my playtime, allthough there are notiveable "hickups" here and there, but its really nothing compared to the overall quality of that game. All in all Im ok with that score - i think every role playing game fan must experience on how well this universe is made.
shame on me for not having finished it yet already - there are just other games that draw me back from it a bit the last weeks. The game is extremely good, the graphics are stunning to say the least, it controls perfectly, features a rich story, much fan service and it is full of Ideas - for me it is the best Arkham game to date - and I cant recommend it enough. Not my personal GOTY, but a definitve must own and must play, and also a proof of what developers can achieve on the PS4/One if they put enough love and effort in it. The game is brilliang!
I honestly doubt that there will ever again be another video game thats as disturbingly bizarre as this one ... and I also honestly believe that the person/s who had the Idea behind this were not sober ... I mean, seriously, dudes ... please ... a visual novel dating sim where a shoolgirl is dating birds? W T F !!!!
Now Ive seen it all ...
Im a huge Fan of Beat em ups in general and 2D Fighters in particular BUT the only chance i will be playing this is when it is released as part of PS+ someday - sorry to the developers - but i just dont like the visual style. It sure looks good, vibrant and fluid, but idk I just dont like the character design at all, the overall style is just not appealing to me. Maybe the gameplay is good, cant tell, but when it comes to 2D Fighters I want some stylish Anime Action, like in KOF and Guilty Gear (BB too of course).
I bought the game without knowing any of the SOA Story, im completely new to it - and for players like me this game offers very little to get into the SOA Universe. Characters and Gamesystems are almost not explained at all which makes the start confusing and a bit overwhelming. The game sure is fun once I got into it - its a bit superficial, the Dating Sim/Visual Novel elements are mostly full of cliche and embarassing situations, and the overall technical performance is also "last gen", graphics, environments, technical limitations/pop ups and so on draw the game down a bit, but since its a RPG and the core game mechanics are fun, one can look past this. I think the game clearly is made for Fans of SOA, but surely not a good starting point for newcomers.
after reading so much about it I finally decided to give this a try - and I must admit I am totally blown away! Its not only one of the best PSVita games Ive ever experienced, the whole setting, story, presentation and atmosphere are just phenomenal. Its an incredible game every Vita-owner should experience - the characters, the overall mood and tension, and the story progression, everything about the whole story is just absorbing. Only those who really cant live without Action in a game and people who hate Anime will not be drawn completely into it. I cant recommend it enough, its totally addicting and a game you dont want to stop playing. Even the adventure parts (looking for clues) are very well woven and not too overwhelming, the overall game desing features very much comfort like fast travelling and so on - yes, it has much much text to read, but that seriously cant be argued as a negative aspect considering the sheer brilliance of the plot. I cant wait to finish it, jump into the next Installment and continue with this series as long as there are more episodes coming.
its definitely an improvement over the first game in every way - its bigger, tougher and has a really interesting and long story - it feels totally at home on the Vita, it looks, sounds and plays just amazing. Every Fan of the first game could not have wanted more from a sequel - its highly recommended, one of my favourite game(s) in general and a total proof that indie games can be as much fun and entertaining as huge AAA releases, if not even more so when they are as polished and great as this one here.
cant stress how brilliant this game is - especially the soundtrack its like perfectly suited for the Vita, it looks and plays amazing Its a bit short and tough at times, but extremely motivating. Its definitely one of my favourite games, not only on the Vita/PS4, its also proof that Indie Games can be pure, essential fun and high quality
this is one of my most wanted - gotta have to get it for my birthday
the graphical style is just so appealing, I think the portraits look amazing! The Gameplay itself sure is also great, definitely borrowing heavily from Persona which cant be a bad thing... am also lookin forward to the plot and characters, allthough not as deep and tense as in Persona it sure will have some very funny and strange dialogue im sure
will post my opinion once i got the game
UPDATE: got the game, played for a few hours or so, my first opinion on it: its awesome and totally what I have expected: a lighthearted and stylish JRPG - the graphics in the novel parts look stunningly crisp, sharp and vibrant, I admit the 3D Models of the characters, the overall effects and the level-design of the dungeons are weak and a bit disappointing , not bad but it could be way better. The Soundtrack is a mixed bag, some tunes are catchy though. I really like the overall gameplay, though its a bit overly compicated sometimes and hard to understand in the beginning the mixture of dating, reading, exploring, fighting and levelling makes really great fun. I admit it can get repetetive, I see that, but as far as I have experienced so far, the game paces it very well - you clear a floor or two, head back to the town to regroup etc. and enjoy the novel/dating part, repeat. It doesnt feel like anything lasts too long - as soon as I have enough of reading, I feel the game sends me back to fighting, and as soon as I grow a bit tired of fighting I get the chance to stop for a bit and do some dating/shopping
The overall story might seem a bit shallow at the beginning, but the dialogue is quite strange and entertainingly well written so far, the characters seem likeable and the overall tune/atmosphere is - like stated in every review around the net - lighthearted and full of breast/chest jokes/sexual themes/jokes - as far as I can tell from having played it for about 10 hours now I can recommend it to every JRPG Fan that has a Vita - I mean when the VisualNovel/Dating Sim Gods of Chunsoft team up with ATLUS to make a "Persona-like" (from the overall style) JRPG it cant be all that bad
might sound a bit "weird" but I really wished the blood was red ... takes away some of the seriousness/cruelsomness imo the way it is now ... the character design didnt really change much tbh, the original monokuma design is really bad though - glad they changed it to what we know now
gotta have to play this - from what I have read and heard it seems like its extremely good - the only thing about this game that doesnt appeal to me is the japanese voice over (i prefer english voices, also in animes) in the european version, but I guess I can live with that - what bothers me even more is that the first game, 999, is only available on the NDS, which I dont own, and as a "novel-only" for the iOS -id seriously wish theyd release at least the "novel-only" on the PSN too - dont want to download it on my iphone, and since the third installment will be coming 2016 I am still hoping, besides there sure are quite some other players that want to enjoy everything that story-heavy series has to offer as a whole on the vita.
still no review? LOL sorry ^^ The latest entry is the best in the series so far imo - the graphics are simply put stunning, never ever saw a smoother, more detailed and better animated 2D Fighter before - not even close! The Soundtrack is bombastic as one would expect, the Gameplay is where the game really shines, every Character is unique and worth to invest training in. The best feature about this game is - Story Mode! Seriously! First, finish Arcade Mode wth every Character, then jump into Story Mode. Besides Mortal Kombat 9 and X I have never ever experienced a better Story in any Fighting Game. Its more like a visual novel, but more like an anime movie actually, fully animated, with top voice acting, and the story itself offers extremely much Info for Fans and is very tense (huge Cliffhanger though). My downside with the game are the missing Characters - where are all my beloved Heroes? Dizzy, Testament, Justice, Kliff, Bridget, Baiken, ... nearly half of the roster of the previous installments is missing!!!! There can only be one reason for this: Arc System Works will release several small updates to this - like GGX before, always adding 2 to 3 Characters to the roster .... super annoying. But still - it has lots of awesome game modes for single and multiplayer, unlockables and very much fan service (an encyclopedia for example to look certain things up). All in all I would give it an 8/10 - the Fan inside me wanted to give it a 9, but with so much missing favourite Characters (some of them you actually see in the game but cant play them - like in MKX) and the strange online multiplayer Lobby theres some things that still need to be improved - the next Installment just released in Japan Arcades (calles GGXrd - Revelator) so theres something to look forward to ^^
im somewhat halfway through the game - its really great! The graphics look awesome on the Vita, the gameplay is cool and fun as always, and the characters are also sympathic and funny - the only thing Im missing is english voice over - im one of the rare Anime Fans that dont like japanese voices that much, if theres the option i definitely always take the english voices. It seems to be rather long too, the cast and plot along with the combat is constantly pushing forward, also love the fact that there is a world map ^^ Compared to other Tales Titels this one definitely is one of the best and on par with "Graces"

Im really angry that SE made it cross save but not cross buy!
That is just so typical of SE
The Game itself is as brilliant as it always was - even more so with the graphical improvements and the new arranged Soundtrack.
I can live with that score, I would love to rate it higher myself but there are two things that I find frustrating:
the hunt for the ultimate weapons (you know what im talking about ... chocobo race...) - and that the game features NO cross buy
Re: Review: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (PlayStation 4)
the game really is amazing - its the best Witcher Game so far (imo) and has lots of love for the detail, graphics, soundtrack, gameplay, story, the game shines and is throughout extremely well crafted.
BUT
after completing the main quest i simply had enough of it, i didnt care about the side quests or exploring every last inch of that gameworld enough.
Re: Review: Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4)
shame on me for not having finished it yet already - there are just other games that draw me back from it a bit the last weeks.
Re: Review: Hatoful Boyfriend (PS4)
I honestly doubt that there will ever again be another video game thats as disturbingly bizarre as this one ... and I also honestly believe that the person/s who had the Idea behind this were not sober ... I mean, seriously, dudes ... please ... a visual novel dating sim where a shoolgirl is dating birds? W T F !!!!
Now Ive seen it all ...
Re: Review: Skullgirls 2nd Encore (PS4)
Im a huge Fan of Beat em ups in general and 2D Fighters in particular
BUT
the only chance i will be playing this is when it is released as part of PS+ someday - sorry to the developers - but i just dont like the visual style.
Re: Review: Sword Art Online Re: Hollow Fragment (PS4)
Re: Review: Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc (PlayStation Vita)
after reading so much about it I finally decided to give this a try - and I must admit I am totally blown away!
Re: Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number
its definitely an improvement over the first game in every way - its bigger, tougher and has a really interesting and long story - it feels totally at home on the Vita, it looks, sounds and plays just amazing. Every Fan of the first game could not have wanted more from a sequel - its highly recommended, one of my favourite game(s) in general and a total proof that indie games can be as much fun and entertaining as huge AAA releases, if not even more so when they are as polished and great as this one here.
Re: Review: Hotline Miami (PlayStation Vita)
cant stress how brilliant this game is - especially the soundtrack
its like perfectly suited for the Vita, it looks and plays amazing
Its a bit short and tough at times, but extremely motivating. Its definitely one of my favourite games, not only on the Vita/PS4, its also proof that Indie Games can be pure, essential fun and high quality
Re: Review: Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars (PlayStation Vita)
this is one of my most wanted - gotta have to get it for my birthday
the graphical style is just so appealing, I think the portraits look amazing!
Re: Danganronpa Was a Heck of a Lot Creepier Back in Its Beta State
might sound a bit "weird" but I really wished the blood was red ... takes away some of the seriousness/cruelsomness imo the way it is now ...
the character design didnt really change much tbh, the original monokuma design is really bad though - glad they changed it to what we know now
Re: Review: Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward (PlayStation Vita)
gotta have to play this - from what I have read and heard it seems like its extremely good - the only thing about this game that doesnt appeal to me is the japanese voice over (i prefer english voices, also in animes) in the european version, but I guess I can live with that - what bothers me even more is that the first game, 999, is only available on the NDS, which I dont own, and as a "novel-only" for the iOS -id seriously wish theyd release at least the "novel-only" on the PSN too - dont want to download it on my iphone, and since the third installment will be coming 2016 I am still hoping, besides there sure are quite some other players that want to enjoy everything that story-heavy series has to offer as a whole on the vita.
Re: Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-
still no review? LOL sorry ^^
The latest entry is the best in the series so far imo - the graphics are simply put stunning, never ever saw a smoother, more detailed and better animated 2D Fighter before - not even close!
All in all I would give it an 8/10 - the Fan inside me wanted to give it a 9, but with so much missing favourite Characters (some of them you actually see in the game but cant play them - like in MKX) and the strange online multiplayer Lobby theres some things that still need to be improved - the next Installment just released in Japan Arcades (calles GGXrd - Revelator) so theres something to look forward to ^^
Re: Review: Tales of Hearts R (PlayStation Vita)
im somewhat halfway through the game - its really great! The graphics look awesome on the Vita, the gameplay is cool and fun as always, and the characters are also sympathic and funny - the only thing Im missing is english voice over - im one of the rare Anime Fans that dont like japanese voices that much, if theres the option i definitely always take the english voices.
It seems to be rather long too, the cast and plot along with the combat is constantly pushing forward, also love the fact that there is a world map ^^
Compared to other Tales Titels this one definitely is one of the best and on par with "Graces"
