Re: Tech Industry Continues to Take a Beating with Marvel's Midnight Suns Dev Latest to Be Hit by Layoffs

cassiel

Well, since the "discerning players" are people who grown up with GTA, considering that Fortnite/COD the quintessential game, having nostalgia for pixelated games and claiming that 60 fps is the "only way to play video games",yet they adore Zelda TOK... these turn based games make you think, to analyse, to learn to play it, that is too much for the "discerning players"... of course the Marvel theme did not help, the lack of multiplaying and senseless killing do not help either... nothing like going killing people while you wear the most bombastic attire with your mates. I'm afraid the golden years of strategic games are lone gone and now, they are more a niche market...

Re: Poll: Which PS5 Blockbuster Will You Be Playing in June?

cassiel

I've preordered FF XVI Deluxe since day 1, not really interested in a glorified 1997 game, I've played it back in the day and was brilliant, but I'm not a nostalgia fan as well. As for SF6, not really a fan of button mashing. I rather preorder those with the Unreal Engine 5 such as Layers of Fear, Lords of the Fallen

Re: Diablo 4 (PS5) - Blizzard's Best in Years Is a Violent Delight for Infernal Types

cassiel

For a game that it's the same since 1997 and it can run at 60fps in your nan's telly, I rather wait a until it drops below $15... As for the never mentioned technical issues, I think there'll be none since it's a glorified version of the 97 version, so even a PS2 can run it. I'm playing Miasma Chronicles with no issues as they claim here, I wonder why they do not put the same rigour for big studio games...

Re: Forspoken: In Tanta We Trust (PS5) - Better Than the Main Game

cassiel

There are another enhancements in the base game: now your cat is with you, there's a couple of new potions, also the traveling is smoother as well as another couple of settings. Now, the combat it's better and an ultra hard mode. Jedi survivor now feels like a half made game...I've played the DLC and the fights are epic. I'm in my second run with a proper DualSense Edge and it's brilliant!

Re: Now May Be the Best Time to Play Forspoken on PS5

cassiel

Well, since many "discerning players" who do not own a 120Hz capable telly but they've got the authority to say that this game is crap, I wonder about Zelda... I'm playing second run with all the good additions, DLC and with the DualSense Edge properly setup, it's great. The combat is superb.

Re: Lords of the Fallen Offers a Promising Dark Souls Fix This October

cassiel

I used to play the original one in PC and Xbox, a hidden gem. But I'm not sure if you people would be able to play as it looks because you'll need a capable telly, not your nan's... for instance with the last update of Plague requiem I can get 120fps and Jedi Survivor runs better in performance mode at 1440p...

Re: Last Chance to Play Diablo 4 Before Release Is Right Now on PS5, PS4

cassiel

Played it and dismissed it, I won't pay $90 plus taxes for a glorified 1997 game, it was great back in the day... there's no haptic feedback, if I play this with a ps3 controller is the same... I know that many don't care but I like true next gen games at 120Hz mode, VRR, ALL and precise haptics, for me that's 2023 gaming, not glorified games running at 60 fps in your nan's telly because you are a "discerning" player who cannot play at 30 fps... perhaps by December at $20 will be adequate price, pity that my PS3 controller cannot connect to my PS5...

Re: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PS5 Bugs Will Be Squashed Across Weeks of Patches

cassiel

I think that this shall become a problem in next gen games: people haven't got the proper telly, cable and settings for the games, i.e. a 120Hz telly with HDMI 2.1, VRR, ALL, etc; a certified 2.1 cable, and all the proper settings in PS5 VRR always on, auto 2.1; connecting the cable to the proper 2.1 input and to put the setting for enhanced/2.1 for that input. I've got 2 PS5 setups, one with Hisense 55 U8G, certified 2.1 cable; and the other is a Sony 55 A80K, certified 2.1, the lot... and the game runs well in both setups. I guess is that as games are next gen it is harder to make them PS4 compatible or for setups with no 120Hz, VRR, etc. There's Hogwarts legacy for instance... but this does not excuse the fact that games are not optimised for lesser setups, but the good news are that as the game is patched the performance is better with a superior setup. This happened with HFW, God of War and Forspoken. Mind you, I'm talking exclusively for PS5, nothing else, the issues in PC and PS4 are apart.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor?

cassiel

@Styledvinny79 Everything is fine, on my side, perhaps is your HDMI cable?, or are you using the proper HDMI input in your telly?... when is stuttering, clipping is related to poor cable connection, or you are not using the proper 2.1 input.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor?

cassiel

I'm playing it, no issues, no blurriness, no stuttering, nothing, so far so good... mind you, I'm playing in a PS5 in resolution mode with a HDMI 2.1 capable telly and a HDMI 2.1 certified cable... much better than fallen order,

Re: Gotham Knights Updated with New Kelvin Incident Raid for Free on PS5

cassiel

The ironic thing about those 60fps lovers is that they lack of the proper telly to play at 120Hz mode, they claim that "true" games run at 60fps... I usually play at resolution/quality mode even at 30fps, but I prefer better games that uses ALL, VRR, etc so I can enjoy constant 60fps or 120Hz mode... This game is very good, and even at 30fps it's quite fluid so it's fine, the co-op mode is great and getting the trophies is fun, also experiment various play styles is brilliant. But you can enjoy your retro pixilated games at 60fps...

Re: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (PS5) - Fantastic Sequel Is Bigger and Better in Every Way

cassiel

Much better than the first one, the fallen order was a crap port, it was better in Xbox... but Survivor is great!, I'm playing at resolution mode and I've got 60 fps and perhaps more, not tearing, no shuttering, no issues; as for the haptics and rumbling , it's brilliant, much better in all aspects than fallen order. Mind you, I recommend that you own a VRR, ALL, HDMI 2.1 capable telly, since it uses VRR and else. I'm playing with my DualSense Edge, just epic.

Re: Microsoft Dealt Major Blow as UK Blocks Activision Buyout

cassiel

@NEStalgia And it does only in PC, not in your tablet, Mac or phone as Geforce Now, I can play the PC version of The Last of Us with all bells and whistles in my iPad Pro with Geforce Now, not worrying for a capable rig... and reading the reasons for that decision, I think is the best for everyone. Cloud gaming cannot be monopolised by MS or Sony or anyone...

Re: Microsoft Dealt Major Blow as UK Blocks Activision Buyout

cassiel

@NEStalgia Wrong, you do not understand the business model of cloud gaming, Sony do not stream the service from their servers to you, the way PS Remote Play works is that you've got a PS5 with a game, and you in your tablet connected to internet, you can play that game remotely... in fact, it's just streaming from a PS5, the console it's working at that moment, even the telly is on, which is creepy for some people... with MS, I can play game using my tablet connect to internet but the game resides in a server somewhere, that's the difference. I do not need an Xbox if I use my Xbox that ain't no cloud gaming at all... do not mix the models

Re: Microsoft Dealt Major Blow as UK Blocks Activision Buyout

cassiel

@Titntin As per reading the comments, it seems that people ignore the business model in this "cloud gaming", the decision is based in the fact that any cloud game is under "pay for service" which applies for gamers and cloud service providers, i.e. I'm GeForce and I pay a fee for streaming MS games, and you gamer pay a fee for service and/or the game... the problem arise when MS establishes their own terms for service providers and gamers, and since they own 60-70% of the market by owning the content and the rights of service even in another streaming service provider, that is not good... Playstation is actually off this because you can use PS Remote Play fro playing your own games via internet using your very own infrastructure: your own console, own game, and own internet service. If Sony wants to stream MS content, they must pay another fee for that and that's a monopoly...

Re: Microsoft Dealt Major Blow as UK Blocks Activision Buyout

cassiel

People, why is hard to read the actual press release and make your conclusions from there?, you are like those YouTubers and media spreading so much misinformation and unfounded opinions from your gut: "Microsoft already accounts for an estimated 60-70% of global cloud gaming services and has other important strengths in cloud gaming from owning Xbox, the leading PC operating system (Windows) and a global cloud computing infrastructure (Azure and Xbox Cloud Gaming).

The deal would reinforce Microsoft’s advantage in the market by giving it control over important gaming content such as Call of Duty, Overwatch, and World of Warcraft. The evidence available to the CMA indicates that, absent the merger, Activision would start providing games via cloud platforms in the foreseeable future."

Re: Wild Hearts, Wo Long Were 'Successful', but Koei Tecmo Sidesteps Sales Numbers

cassiel

Well, this is another reason why you cannot trust the news about sales and else, they said that Callisto Protocol was a flop, and actually was the best sold game in Christmas season, and it seems that Callisto was better sold than these two... interesting, I know that many rely in "expert gamers" who play very crappy and they are famous more for the theatrics of their tantrums, and the "specialised media" ain't any better. At the debut of game, they slashed or favoured one, depending on the dev... As in the good old days, when comes to video games, the best judge and reference is yourself no one else...

Re: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PS5 Physical Copies Require a Download to Play

cassiel

Well, I think all depends on the country you are in, in Mexico for instance, the game can be 10 years old and it costs USD80 with taxes, so those discounts in USA and Europe are useless, BUT you can get that 10 years old game at USD8 taxes in the PSN Store... so, it's s better deal and as for the dics they only take room and else.. people claim that they own like 200+ discs, but if you move to another country it'll add about USD400 on extra weight, and then you said you care about money... of course, you are right if you never move and else, nothing wrong with that but it ain't that good for another people... I know you can get used copies at USD5 in the States and Europe, but not in Mexico...

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores?

cassiel

I'm finishing Death Stranding in order to get the platinum... this is the next one aiming for the platinum, I stopped because of the unbearable grinding for components to upgrade armour and weapons, after 100000 tries to get apex parts every night running all around the map I've given up, I hope that they've fixed that...

Re: American Senators Continue to Target Sony Over PS5, PS4 Timed Exclusives

cassiel

Well, politicians into video gaming industry... seems to be a big business, the problem is the lack of history from Sony, since PlayStation 1 circa 1994 there always have been PS exclusives... the Wipeout 2027 from PS has got the better soundtrack and else. And since those years, people have been free to choose if you buy it or not. I see the contrary, I do NOT want a world where you can only play COD, Fortnite, GTA, Elden Ring, etc. using a Gamepass because the "discerning gamers" want it and it is "the public will"... no, I Do want to have access and to buy any bloody game I want, being good or not, I'm the only person who can decide that. I want to decide what game I'm going to buy, despite the whining and the miserable fans who claim that a "game sucks" just because they hate it and they just bring bad publicity and to misguide another people as it is happening with recent games such as Forspoken and Callisto Protocol... The last of Us was a PS exclusive for years and there was no such big deal, same happened with Demon's souls. And the industry has been growing up and expanding, now, even US senators are interested because it means big business... and besides, Cramer can ban PS in North Dakota, affecting only the 2 PS owners who live there...

Re: Poll: How Was Final Fantasy 16's State of Play Showcase?

cassiel

I've preordered since day one because it's a PlayStation exclusive, it's got some Forspoken vibes and if it runs in 120Hz, it'll glorious. And of course, this game is going to infuriate the PS/Switch/Steam/Atari/Sega/Xbox fanboys, hahaha... I've noticed that PC/Xbox fans are so vocal for games that cannot run well in theirs platform and they aim to ruin it or to make it fail, talking about Forspoken, Callisto Protocol, among others. So, it's good to have some PS exclusives back...

Re: Resident Evil 4 Fans Aren't Exactly Thrilled with Microtransactions on PS5, PS4

cassiel

This is interesting, the microtransactions are money grabbing, that's a fact, being used by Capcom, Bethesda, Square Enix, EA, the lot... but the differences are mainly in who you support, if is done by Capcom, "it's fine, just don't buy it or ignore it, get over it", but if is done by Square Enix, "those greedy *****, money grabbers, they deserve to burn in hell forever"... people at the end, this is a stream revenuer any developer, just say that you love such developer and you don't care if they leave you skint, but shut up for another one who is not your darling...

Re: Diablo 4 Global Unlock Times Revealed, Go Ahead and Get That Leave Approved

cassiel

@Slayer25c The statement is about the cost of $70, and they whine about it, but paying $70 for a "service game" is fine, which is a stupid excuse because Blizzard is notorious for the downtimes in all the regions... at the end of the day, you pay $70 for the game you like and any statement if is crap or dear, it does not matter, you pay for the game you like

Re: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's PS5 File Size Might Be Ridiculous

cassiel

Honestly people, who in their right mind store games just for the sake of nostalgia?, do you play 10 games at a time?... I mean, you end the game, get the Platinum Trophy and delete it... don't tell me that you keep it? FFS!!! that's why you've got videos of that very moment... talking about of a waste of space...

Re: Talking Point: Would You Care About a PS5 Remote Play Handheld?

cassiel

Well, it's easy peasy, let Sony make a "reversed engineered" piece of Nintendo Switch with a bigger screen, forget the haptics, VRR, 4K,120Hz, the last gen graphics... just tone down the games to run at 60fps, at $20 or PS+++ mobile, have enough room to download and play the games offline, with such a "console" at $300 and Sony is the king of the world!!!, ... many claim to have got every system from a 10K PC ring to Switch, but they haven't got a decent TV that costs 1/10 of such PC to properly run with VRR, 120Hz, HDMI 2.1, the lot... and they whine for the usual $70 price tag... so, $300 console, $20 games or a PS++ mobile a la Game Pass and tada!!!, most of the "discerning gamers" are going to adore Sony!

Re: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Dev 'Really Digging' PS5's Next-Gen Controller

cassiel

It's good to hear that, the Fallen Order had a quite poor haptic support, even some "exclusives" as Deathloop, GoWRagnarok, for instance, even Death Stranding you can feel your steps, or Forspoken when you lash someone or use the sword, or Callisto Protocol when they hit you... the feature is there, which is fact, and it doesn't matter if you love it, hate it or don't care... for me it's a fact that those developers are doing something beyond the usual video game: haptic support, sound from the controller speaker, and great graphics... I wish all video games nowadays are doing that despite your personal preference, they do it and it's something to acknowledge, some people hate it with passion and turn it off, but the fact is that you're got the option to choose and I think that is good... at the end of the day, if you like the game you'll pay $70 or more for it and it's all that matters

Re: The Last of Us PC Is Naughty Dog's Worst Ever Reviewed Game by Some Margin

cassiel

Well, that just put in evidence that the usual "PC discerning gamer" has got a quite old ring unable to run a port and if it's given for free is better than pay for it, perhaps $10 is acceptable... remember all the bad reviews of Callisto Protocol and Forspoken?, mainly from PC gamers, they are so miserable that they cannot accept that they lack of the proper hardware, the dedication to tweak their ring in Windows, and the monies to pay... remember Forbidden West?, the fiasco at the beginning?, it took 6 months to be in proper form to play in PS5... did you hear everywhere how crappy it was?, no you did not because it was not released in PC... so any bloody game coming from PS5 to PC is a mess, either the bad porting or else, but no PC gamer want to admit that they have got crappy rings...

Re: Sony's OLED Bravia TV with PS5 Gaming Features Can Be Yours for a Good Price

cassiel

Well, these are the best tellies at that price for PS5, they are 120Hz 4K, ALLM, VRR, capable... a monitor "for the discerning players" with the same specifications is a bit dearer, and you risk that it is not compatible with PS5, so, avoid regrets and get one of these, better if you've got an Apple TV 4K, it does shines with this telly.

Re: Forspoken Prequel Story DLC Is Unleashed in May

cassiel

Well, I suppose another round is in order, given that you've got a 120Hz capable telly and cable, so you can enjoy really epic battles... for those you actually play it and don't like the voice acting, try to change it in Japanese, it's brilliant... cuff talks like 50% less and Frey sounds like those mental anime girl, haha

Re: Poll: Did You Enjoy the Diablo 4 Beta?

cassiel

Nice revival and nostalgic feeling of D2 back in 2000... with the same game mechanics, just a glorified and colourful modern skin. Yes, it is faster and else, but the price of $70+, no, never, perhaps at $25 and there's the problem with localisation, and you cannot change the language as happened in Diablo 3, I must play it in Spanish because it's locked to Mexico, so, no... for $70 I've got better graphics, great haptic feedback, great sound and even 120Hz mode of those so hated games as Callisto Protocol and Forspoken, I know, a very unpopular opinion...
