Re: Forspoken PS5 Update Improves Performance, Tweaks Gameplay Options, More

cassiel

@somnambulance Besides, for those who hate it with passion, I never heard of them playing this at 120Hz mode, which really shines in this game, perhaps the best one in 120Hz mode... I don't think that they've never played and/or lack of a proper telly for it, same happens with Hogwarts Legacy, the balanced mode is the best one.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Forspoken?

cassiel

An 8 for me, of course I'm playing in a PS5, not a PC and my telly is capable of 120Hz, perhaps the game with the best 120Hz mode so far: no tearing, fluid combat... of course, there are some settings that must be changed so you can enjoy. After 30 hours in my first run, it's fine. The funny thing is that the annoying dialogs remind me of the haters, haha.

Re: Forspoken (PS5) - Messy Action RPG Is Massively Hit and Miss

cassiel

There are a couple of setting that truly changes the gaming and fighting: 120Hz mode and auto evade. With 120Hz mode everything runs very well, otherwise is crap, there's no much difference between quality and ray tracing, and actually it's one of the best 120Hz modes in PS5, but you need a capable telly. The auto evade it's brilliant because it saves you to evade in all fights, concentrating more in offensive spells, once you turn that on, the combat it's very fun. For the rest, the open world is great given that you consider open world a large extension of land where you can find bits and bots, not a city where you can hit grannies and use their car and go shopping for colourful clothes with your mates. It needs some updates but so far so good.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Forspoken?

cassiel

Well, I'm playing it now and I'm enjoying it, as it is usual these days, it does need some updates as any brand new game and it'll be brilliant. I'm playing it in ray tracing mode and 120Hz display mode which makes the game shine, of course, haters care more about other things as "fun combat", 120 fps, etc., but I haven't read comments with regards of the quality of visuals, perhaps they haven't got a 120Hz capable telly, and I'm taking about PS5 exclusively, mind you, I don't care about PC or similar.

And with regards the $70 price tag, do you live in 2002?, most of AAA are around 60-80 and you don't have to wait 2 years for a price drop, Midnight suns was on sale, Callisto protocol is on sale... just wait 1 month or so and they will be on sale. Gotham knights was also on sale, all recent games. I also pre-ordered Hogwarts Legacy but because of the special DLC one PS5 but Jedi is on $70 and perhaps in 1 or 3 months on the $50, after some updates and ironing. At the end of the day, if you do not like it, do not play it... I hate Fortnite, COD and any Battle Royale sort of game, so I do not play it or buy it... life is easy.

Re: 'AAAA' Title The Callisto Protocol Reportedly Falls Short of Expected Sales Figures

cassiel

Despite the hatred, this was the best selling game of the Holiday season... what does it mean?, the gaming industry is in recession. Why they do not publish the sales number and making costs of Midnight Suns or any other games?. I love Midnight Suns but it did fall short in selling. With brand new games at $60-$80 price tag, people are buying less, given the fact that 99% needs some patching such as Horizon Forbidden West, etc... perhaps they should lower the prices and deliver full functional games

Re: Poll: Would You Be Interested in a Detachable PS5 Disc Drive?

cassiel

Some people here hate digital but I think it does depend on the country as well, i.e. in Mexico they do not put on sale the games in discs, they remain at the same price always, even 2 or 3 years after their release, it is not like the US or some shops in the UK where prices drops as time passes. So, I've bought all my collection via PS Store at prices that I cannot find in Mexico with discs in a million years. Besides, there've been some good deals in the last 2 years...

Re: PS Store Sales Charts: Mixed Results for Newer PS5, PS4 Games Like Crisis Core, Midnight Suns

cassiel

Well, despite the fact that many people of this site hated Callisto Protocol, it seems that it was the best selling brand new game... I like it, not more than Midnight Suns, but many people outside here, bought it, such is power of marketing... so, it is not a flop. despite the combat mechanics and else, Callisto Protocol it does have got one of the best visuals, ambient and sound in a next gen game.

Re: Marvel's Midnight Suns (PS5) - Heroic Social Strategy Experiment Is Almost Super

cassiel

Well, the graphics are horrible, but if you are a fan of XCOM games you'll love this. I'm not a fan of MCU and this could be done with SW, DC, etc., I don't mind. I like the relationship and team building in order to get more advantages in combat, because everything is about the encounters, so you need better companions, select the right mission, upgrade abilities, equipment, etc. I just don't like the chests because most of the rewards are colour palettes which are useless in combat, they should give you more essence, money, etc. Only recommended if you are fan of turn based strategy games, the cards are a very good additions and there's no random damage.

Re: Hands On: Is Marvel's Midnight Suns Any Good on PS5?

cassiel

@Jtheripper I've forgotten to mention that the there's no faulty accuracy loss, I've got Phoenix Point in PS5, PC and Mac, but that mental thing that you've got your best weapon and you cannot hit or when you hit you just make 1 hit point is not normal, as if those "premium" weapon are from 1200 BC. You hit, you know the damage and that's good. And every action has got a very nice cinematic animation... better than the last action in XCOM, not bad

Re: Hands On: Is Marvel's Midnight Suns Any Good on PS5?

cassiel

If you are fan of XCOM-ish games, you'll love it. People talk about graphics, story, etc... but when this sort of games have got such of features?. It's more a strategy game and it's very good on that. I'm enjoying it very much, the use of the controller is fine. Only recommended if you love XCOM, otherwise is crap.

Re: The Callisto Protocol (PS5) - Just Like Dead Space, for Better and Worse

cassiel

Well, after 2 hours of playing, it's alright. It ain't that bad, in fact they use the PS5 controller very well with the speaker and vibrations. The atmosphere feels claustrophobic. The graphics are great. The controls are simple but once you manage the timing you can dodge and block. Not at the level of GOW but not that bad. I'm playing on quality mode and I've got no frame issues

Re: Poll: Did You Buy God of War Ragnarok?

cassiel

Yeah, as any pretentious gamer, I'm currently playing it in GN+ in ultra hard setting, all 120 fps and all... but sadly, I'm playing at 40fps, enjoying the details, and else, it's the deluxe version and normal... so far so good, but since I'm playing Plague, I think after a couple of updates it'll be epic, and yes, it's very good...

Re: Rat-Infested Sequel A Plague Tale: Requiem Surpasses 1 Million Players in Just One Week

cassiel

I'm enjoying it greatly, it's one of the best of the year, I'm playing in my PS5 and no screen tearing and else, same with Gotham Knights, I even get 60fps sometimes. I think some people just forget to mention their tellies, because the telly is not able to support such games, there's tearing... I've got a Hisense U8G and it's brilliant with the last update I can even put the IMAX setting and the games look gorgeous. I used a certified HDM 2.1 cable connected to the right input and I can even play 120fps with no issues. At the end of the day, don't like it, don't play it; not your cup of tea, don't drink it...

Re: Poll: Will You Pay the PSVR2 Launch Price?

cassiel

I was thinking on buying a new telly, since in Mexico they are around this price, so I go for the VR and Horizon. The reasons are simple, in order to get a decent telly with 120Hz, VRR, HDM 2.1, etc ready, it's the same amount of money... with the VR, I can play the non VR games the way they are meant to be.
