Re: Random: Influencer Brings Bedlam to New York City After Promising Free PS5s

Wormwood23

Social media "influencers" are vile idiots supported by pathetic losers: I don't care if it's this clown or Andy "Raper" Tate you're talking about; the "influencer" internet is a cesspool of stupidity and the celebration of the worst aspects of human culture. Don't just arrest these people; let's rather load them into a space shuttle and launch them into the sun. You know in your heart it's the right thing to do.

Re: PSVR2 Horror The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR Getting Major Update This Week

Wormwood23

Those octagonal rat swarms were just pathetic. The first game had better graphics than this one, which is just sad. I played Switchback for about an hour before removing it from storage, so I will download again and be ready for the Friday update. I hope it makes the game more worthy of its retail price.

I won't try it before i finish Synapse, tho. So, so dope.

Re: Baldur's Gate 3's Viral Druid Sex Scene a Potential Factor in RPG's Ascent to Steam Top-Seller

Wormwood23

Hilarious to read so much hyperbole about "vision" and "integrity ". It's just marketing- I guarantee that scene was deeply focus-tested before it "leaked", and that the leak was designed to help drive sales in a busy AAA release season. And yes, there are tons of lonely, horny gamers out there who just can't wait for some hot digital werebear nookie.

It also helps a ton that the game looks as if it will be amazing to play. That helps, too.

Re: Blizzard Dev Sets the Record Straight on Diablo 4's Rarest Item Drops

Wormwood23

This game that I've finished once and started again is totally broken and needs to be free to play!!!!! Those microtransactions that only affect character appearance are a total betrayal of the fanbase, the DDOS and other server issues should have been predicted ten years ago. And Blizzard never sent me my life size snuggable Lillith pillow either, those clowns. Has anyone seen my fedora?

Re: Xbox Boss Wishy-Washy on Whether The Elder Scrolls 6 Will Come to PS6, PS5

Wormwood23

Any corporate leader who would provide a definitive response to such a question when under similar legal and regulatory pressure would be forced to resign by the board, and rightly so.

The really amusing thing is that in terms of market value, the company to benefit the most from all this is neither Microsoft nor Sony, but rather Activision.

Re: Stunning PSVR2 Action Adventure Hubris Is Just One Week Away

Wormwood23

I'll get to this as soon as I'm finished with Red Matter 2 but that might be awhile yet because I tend to get so hypnotized by the incredible look of the game that I lose track of my goal and just stand around staring at everything. I think there's about to be a flood of killer PSVR2 games coming.

Re: Sony Says It's Too Early to Judge PSVR2's Popularity

Wormwood23

I just finished CotM, am about halfway thru REV, and I'm trying to decide what to buy next. The headset just hit retail shelves and will do well OTC.

LOL @ the Zuck stans trying to pimp meta: a company that primarily serves Boomer-age anti-vax Republicans, can't decide the right price point for its devices, has been laying off employees left and right, can't decide if it's own "metaverse" is even remotely viable/profitable, is bleeding revenue and about to get totally outpaced by the Fruit Co AR headset arriving soon. Quest is a throw-away device now — you can even find them in local thrift stores across the US.

Re: PS5 Pro Is '100%' Happening, Says Reliable Report

Wormwood23

IMHO, Tom H. is not a "leaker" but rather an intentional component of Sony marketing. Step one: release rumor. Step two: evaluate current interest level and potential market share through social media response. Step three: adjust corporate strategy to capture largest market share possible.

Sony's marketing team is all over this like 70s Miles Davis on a pile of pure Peruvian flake. Guaranteed.

Re: Soapbox: PSVR2 Already Feels Like It's on Course for Failure

Wormwood23

Not only is this concern trolling clickbait at its finest, it's even clearly the result of that earlier article from Bloomberg based on a so-called "leak" about sales projections that came from a proven liar.

I mean, Car & Driver just published a drooling review of GT7 in PSVR2 that should drive some new sales, too. At the price point — which is substantial but appropriate for the tech — Sony is smart enough to understand that PSVR2 is a marathon that will last, and have new games emerging, for quite awhile. I would also note in passing that the same thing was said about OG PSVR, and new games were getting published for that right up until the new iteration hit the shelves. There are a number of upcoming PSVR2 games that look freaking fire, too.

Re: Best PSVR2 Games

Wormwood23

I seem to be enjoying CotM a bit more than most reviewers here — the graphics are pretty amazing (I mean, even the moss on the rocks is detailed and clear) and I have enjoyed the combat even if the movement is limited to strafing. There are a few moments, like the close call with a Thunderjaw while swinging on a vine — that really impressed me.

I like Synth Riders a lot but would not list it as highly as it is here. And am I the only person on the planet who played that new Tetris and thought it was just "meh"? I really don't get it.

On edit, it looks as if I need to play both Demeo and Light Brigade. Thanks, Push Square!

Re: US Senator Says Sony Has 'Monopoly' on High-End Japanese Game Market

Wormwood23

Oh, come on, folks. The hyperbole — and it is just that: political noisemaking — is being done on behalf of her donors and constituency (she will keep MS's positions to help keep MS offices and jobs in WA) and is a good thing.

As a video game enthusiast, I want to see BOTH companies thrive and be really successful because that competition will drive change in the industry and evolution within game styles, platforms, and immersion techniques. MS should keep moving forward with their industry-defining streaming, and this acquisition, and Sony should keep making terrific console exclusives, PSVR2, etc.

The stronger and more competitive the relationship between MS and Sony, the better for us. Now if you're talking Meta, you can f**ck right off. The company is a joke, and Zuck is a flesheating lizard in an il-fitting skin suit. Nothing you say about it will make me believe otherwise.

Re: Elden Ring Players Have Spent a Year Dying Over 9 Billion Times

Wormwood23

Awesome. My wife, who refers to ER as "the magic bouncey horse game", asked her brother why he doesn't play the same games that I do, and he responded that he doesn't find them fun for the same reason he doesn't enjoy slamming his hand in the car door or getting kicked in the crotch. Sounds about right.

Re: PSVR2 to Receive Renewed Competition from Meta Quest 3 This Year

Wormwood23

Sony isn't quaking over this at all: Meta has been laying off employees by the tens of thousands and their stock price is down more than $20 per share from this time a year ago. Their Quest 2 pricing strategy has been a total clusterfudge — they raised it by $100 and then lowered it another $50-75 when it didn't sell at the higher market point. The wireless aspect of Quest is valuable only for "gateway" vr gaming, and if you want to use it on PC you're going to shell out a helluva lot more for a gaming PC rig than for your PS5. On top of all of that, Zuck is still convinced that people want to go to work for 8 hours a day in his ugly little "metaverse". He should really stick to what he does best, which is creating social media for boomer-aged political extremists while looking like an incognito space lizard disguised in a skin suit.

Re: PSVR2 Early Adopters Are Struggling to Find the Sweet Spot

Wormwood23

The only "problem" I've found since receiving it has been finding the time to play. I don't understand the issue under discussion here: the instructions are concise, the dial functions properly, and the image quality is superb. I suspect that as usual, the primary culprits may be failure to read the instructions and the gamer community's tendency to whine and bitch about minor matters as if they are prelude to apocalypse. Hope y'all get it figured out - the system and gameplay are terrific.

Re: Microsoft Can't Deny Xbox Game Pass Cannibalises Software Sales

Wormwood23

Some enterprising young litigator needs to start a class action suit against Microsoft's purchase of Bethesda because it will limit consumer choice by not allowing a port of Skyrim for PSVR2. Not because I want to play Skyrim again, but because it would be freaking hilarious to see it get ported to a new system. Skyrim: the Game that Would Not Die Edition.

Re: Gran Turismo 7's Free PSVR2 Patches Hits the Starting Grid on 21st February

Wormwood23

I purchased GT7 last week just because it will be available to play in PSVR2. I had never really loved-loved a racing game before, even in VR (Wipeout is fun, but I wanted real cars), but GT7 is just amazing, and I'm hooked even before the new headset ships. I'm also considering a steering wheel-and-pedals add-on because I'm enjoying it so much using the controller to steer and expect to play the game for a long time. Amazing graphics, responsive gameplay, and an addictive collecting and upgrade loop: it will be astonishing in VR.

Re: Random: Rapper Logic 'Conned' His Way into The Last of Us Part II

Wormwood23

@Grimwood Ummm, sure, dude. That's why "real fans" of musicians only listen to a song once and then never again; why "real fans" of genre literature only read a book a single time and why sports fans never, ever watch replays. Deep thoughts, there, for sure.

Seriously, tho, congrats: your post has to be one of the most simple-minded, transparent versions of the "No True Scotsman" logical fallacy ever posted, which is saying quite a lot considering the times in which we reside.
