This PS5 Open World Game Is Adding an Entire Fantasy RPG as an Extra Activity 1

I’m a little stunned by the latest update to NTE, scheduled to release on 8th July.

Fans will know the GTA-inspired open world launched earlier this year with a variety of activities, ranging from racing to shop management.

But its next addition is an entire fantasy RPG named ‘999 Nights’ (irritatingly pronounced ‘One Thousand Less One Nights’ and not ‘Nine Nine Nine Nights’ like you’d expect).

Frustrating naming conventions aside, this is a full-blown fantasy RPG with multiple character classes (inspired by characters from the main game), unlockable gear sets, and an expanding world.

Apparently, the more times you beat the campaign, the more quests you’ll unlock, deepening its lore. You’ll also gather tokens which will allow you to bring some of the gear sets back into the main game. (Although they’ll be less customisable outside of the fantasy RPG mode, obviously.)

So yeah, this is something I never expected. It also just happens to be one part of the latest update, which also includes a continuation of the core storyline, two new characters, various social events, a bunch of costumes, an auction-inspired minigame, and more.

I should stress that the new fantasy RPG mode will be a permanent addition, so you don’t need to worry about time limits, as is sometimes the case in gacha games.

There’s much more in the update as outlined via the hour-long Special Program above. I’d recommend watching through it if you’re interested in all the new content.

I’m still really enjoying my time in Heathereau, although I generally haven’t been impressed with the events thus far. This new fantasy RPG mode is definitely going to capture my interest, though.
