
A pretty neat new PS5 accessibility feature has been largely overlooked, as players focus on the return of classic console themes instead.
Audio Focus, a fresh accessibility feature designed for headphones, allows you to boost specific audio frequencies, which may help your performance in online multiplayer games – or just get more out of your single player experiences.
You can find it by navigating to Settings > Sound > Volume > Audio Focus. Do keep in mind that you’ll need to have a pair of headphones connected to utilise this feature.

But effectively it works by allowing you to boost specific frequencies in the mix, making voices stand out more clearly over busy background noises – or allowing you to more clearly hear footsteps amid explosions.
While this is something you could do manually with EQ if you have an expensive pair of headphones, it’s good to see Sony simplify the whole process at a system level, especially for those wearing inexpensive ear buds.
You can set whether you want the changes to be Strong, Medium, or Weak – and there’s even a custom audio preview you can use to find the best setting for you.
