Re: Critical Darling Alan Wake 2's Sales Seem Soft, But There's More to the Story

Tielo

I don't pay full price for digital because it's worthless.
If they don't put it on disk I'll wait for a deep sale that eventually will come.
I would have asked for it for my birthday or as a Christmas gift but there is no fun getting a PS store code. This whole digital thing is a big fail and I'm kind of optimistic that these numbers are so low for what I'm sure is an amazing game.

Re: Call of Duty Devs Walk Back Kratos Voice Actor Criticisms, 'It's Not About the Joke'

Tielo

It's clear there is a lot of pain at Activision and that is never fun. What some people forget is that a game is mainly a creative product meaning people put a ton of themselves in the product. If that process was extremely abusive and painful it will leave scars and it's clear they are coming to the surface. The developers should put that pain to the company they work for and start unions to protect themselves from these companies.
I thought the joke was funny and the complains about the game justified regardless how bad the working conditions where. The joke triggered a disturbing reaction and in that respect it even serving a purpose.

Re: PlayStation Users Set to Lose Hundreds of TV Shows They Paid For

Tielo

When you think you are buying digital products you are delusional. You own nothing.
Just like Zune (MS) this proves again that buying digital is buying nothing.
I buy digital when it's on deep sale and I don't want to replay it when finished but stuff I really like will be bought on disk. Yes it maybe not the ultimate version as it misses patches but at least I can play it whatever happens.

Re: It's Utter Domination for PS5 in Europe as Xbox Continues to Lose Significant Ground

Tielo

It's fine, Xbox tried and after 21 years they still aren't able to produce great games so it's time to go.
I hope Nintendo will go next level with their hardware and be a huge contented to PlayStation. Their own portfolio of games is vast but third party titles needs such a huge downgrade it doesn't function as a stand alone console (for me). It's also healthy for competition.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Alan Wake 2?

Tielo

Played and loved all Remedy titles that released on PlayStation. Currently still playing Spider-Man 2 and Baldur's Gate 3.
Due to the lack of a physical version I'll wait for Alen Wake 2 until it's a deep sale.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0?

Tielo

I played it once at release, that is to say, I played it until my PS5 crashed and then I waited for the next patch. This happened again and again until I finally got to the disappointing end.
I'm not sure if I can get myself to start the game up again. I heard their are still bugs in there so maybe I wait till everything is finally fixed and try it one time from the start.

Re: Dreams Live Service Ending as Media Molecule Couldn't Find a 'Sustainable Path'

Tielo

I own Dreams from the start and like the tool and the creativity. The once promised possibility to release your game in an in-game store was never build. Mm could have monetized from that sale a percentage and that could have resulted in a longer support for the tool.
Thankfully the tool has an amazing community that will keep it alive and interesting for many years and everyone who likes to experiment with game, art or music creation can find a powerful tool in Dreams.

Re: Sony Is Increasing R&D Costs to Fuel Live Service Games, Report Claims

Tielo

I get it. Sony wants and probably needs a mp that does well, but so many studios and so much money is waisted on a ton of content with probably 80% failing.
On the other hand, if it is hugely successful I'm afraid (despite what Sony is saying) we will see the GTA effect where we see significantly less single player games and more monetization crap.
Both scenarios are a waist and I'm a bit afraid about my hobby.

Re: Reaction: What Happens to PlayStation if Microsoft Buys Activision Blizzard?

Tielo

Internally at Sony:
First of all M$ will try to give Sony a smaller share. Phil clearly doesn't react on an email from Sony so there will be a stand off and it wouldn't surprise me if Sony says, if we can't have the 30% you can't put it on our platform and M$ walks away. Result: no CoD for PS and no $$$ for M$.
If they come to an agreement and we get to PS6 (or pro) Sony won't give them a developer kit until the hardware is released resulting in a horribly optimized game.
Sony will buy more studios and will try to build a game that beats CoD.

Internally at M$:
So many studios, so little talent to manage them. Being forced to add more (streaming)platforms to the already heavy workload leads to talent leaving the company.
More games on GamePass leads to less third party studios releasing games on the Xbox platforms. There will be hardly a business case that makes sense as more will be played on GP and even less games will be bought. M$ is creating their own Nintendo construct and Sony will have a lot of third party games exclusively on their platform as a result.
