I don't pay full price for digital because it's worthless. If they don't put it on disk I'll wait for a deep sale that eventually will come. I would have asked for it for my birthday or as a Christmas gift but there is no fun getting a PS store code. This whole digital thing is a big fail and I'm kind of optimistic that these numbers are so low for what I'm sure is an amazing game.
It's clear there is a lot of pain at Activision and that is never fun. What some people forget is that a game is mainly a creative product meaning people put a ton of themselves in the product. If that process was extremely abusive and painful it will leave scars and it's clear they are coming to the surface. The developers should put that pain to the company they work for and start unions to protect themselves from these companies.
I thought the joke was funny and the complains about the game justified regardless how bad the working conditions where. The joke triggered a disturbing reaction and in that respect it even serving a purpose.
When you think you are buying digital products you are delusional. You own nothing. Just like Zune (MS) this proves again that buying digital is buying nothing. I buy digital when it's on deep sale and I don't want to replay it when finished but stuff I really like will be bought on disk. Yes it maybe not the ultimate version as it misses patches but at least I can play it whatever happens.
I think that if MS only did a Xbox exclusive subscription and Sony would get the regular 30% they would be fine, but not the whole shebang as it would undermine their store. Personally, if I wanted to play Xbox exclusives I would buy an Xbox but I don't.
There are no shortcuts. They only work in the short time but slowly building and investing in talent and creativity with a top tier technical base is the only way to be successful. Do they make mistakes, sure, but they learn and approve.
It's fine, Xbox tried and after 21 years they still aren't able to produce great games so it's time to go. I hope Nintendo will go next level with their hardware and be a huge contented to PlayStation. Their own portfolio of games is vast but third party titles needs such a huge downgrade it doesn't function as a stand alone console (for me). It's also healthy for competition.
technically the game isn't perfect. The times I found out I left on of my followers behind or one doesn't like to jump is a lot, but the game is so ***** awesome that I lovingly wave it away. I'm 127 happy hours in and still feel sick I made a pact with the devil. When I'm finished I do a replay or 2 for sure.
Played and loved all Remedy titles that released on PlayStation. Currently still playing Spider-Man 2 and Baldur's Gate 3. Due to the lack of a physical version I'll wait for Alen Wake 2 until it's a deep sale.
A broken console maker buys a broken collection of studios, fine. For every game ruined a Larian Studios indie developer succeeds and will refresh the market with quality.
I call this a huge improvement. I hope all the assets that where build for this crap can be re-used in TLoU 3 or another game so this won't be a total waist of time and money.
We've seen that non-sense fail during the PS3 era and I'm glad to see it fail again. There are more than enough mp/gaas titles on the market. Buy them (like Bungie) if you feel the need to but let the studios do what they are good at.
Let me see, that is the second on of mp/gaas crap that is killed of and money is waisted. Great, now start making awesome single player games again as there is already enough of the other crap on the market.
PlayStation is in a great state thanks to Jim Ryan. It's clear he isn't a mouthpiece for the fanboys likes Phil Spencer but you can't fail his business decisions.
I played it once at release, that is to say, I played it until my PS5 crashed and then I waited for the next patch. This happened again and again until I finally got to the disappointing end. I'm not sure if I can get myself to start the game up again. I heard their are still bugs in there so maybe I wait till everything is finally fixed and try it one time from the start.
The gameplay was far from perfect but it looked and sounded amazing. It's quite a skill to actually deliver a decent game. The next one could have build and improved upon it's mechanics. Not sure what his reason is to leave but the reactions here of most are very harsch.
I said it from the start there would be dlc, and addition to a convoluted story to deepen it or whatever as it happens with all the latest FF games. That's why I waited so I can play the complete edition whenever it's ready.
I think with the right help this studio could have grown in a positive direction, it's unfortunate the Embracer Group doesn't or isn't able to provide that support.
So tired of SE, it is never enough but they sell a ton and are still in business. It's the main reason I buy their games at discount (and the fact they gone milk the ***** out of the game with added story stuff later on).
I own Dreams from the start and like the tool and the creativity. The once promised possibility to release your game in an in-game store was never build. Mm could have monetized from that sale a percentage and that could have resulted in a longer support for the tool. Thankfully the tool has an amazing community that will keep it alive and interesting for many years and everyone who likes to experiment with game, art or music creation can find a powerful tool in Dreams.
I get it. Sony wants and probably needs a mp that does well, but so many studios and so much money is waisted on a ton of content with probably 80% failing. On the other hand, if it is hugely successful I'm afraid (despite what Sony is saying) we will see the GTA effect where we see significantly less single player games and more monetization crap. Both scenarios are a waist and I'm a bit afraid about my hobby.
Internally at Sony: First of all M$ will try to give Sony a smaller share. Phil clearly doesn't react on an email from Sony so there will be a stand off and it wouldn't surprise me if Sony says, if we can't have the 30% you can't put it on our platform and M$ walks away. Result: no CoD for PS and no $$$ for M$. If they come to an agreement and we get to PS6 (or pro) Sony won't give them a developer kit until the hardware is released resulting in a horribly optimized game. Sony will buy more studios and will try to build a game that beats CoD.
Internally at M$: So many studios, so little talent to manage them. Being forced to add more (streaming)platforms to the already heavy workload leads to talent leaving the company. More games on GamePass leads to less third party studios releasing games on the Xbox platforms. There will be hardly a business case that makes sense as more will be played on GP and even less games will be bought. M$ is creating their own Nintendo construct and Sony will have a lot of third party games exclusively on their platform as a result.
I just bought it for 15 euro and I like it for at least 20 euro so money well spent. The game also is a looker. Haven't finished it yet and if I still like it at the end I'll buy the DLC at discount.
We've seen this GAAS/MP crap during PS3. Sony waisted a ton of good money and non if them stayed, got remade or are a as memorable as their single player games. It'll fail, it'll waist money and they go back to what they are good at.
Let hope this Final Fantasy will have one story, not an additional movie, comic, mime performance, cassette tape or a Verses, Next or other updated addition to make sense of the convoluted story they try to tell. Please no hum, uh, em or other trough or grunt sound that will be repeated every 30 seconds.
"Microsoft recently said ten years was plenty of time for Sony to create its own Call of Duty competitor; we imagine it could do the same in a similar time span."
Give them 20 years and they have a AAAAA CoD struggling with 30FPS an 720p resolution, one biodome and no plan for GAAS.
