The "For the Whole Family" section is pretty poor. For the love of high school football throw Sonic Racing into that section and help it out!
Imo, unfortunately for Playstation only households, this is an area of gaming that Sony doesn't seem to "get" and Nintendoes. There's just no contest. That's a big detriment to Sony and I hope they really work on that, but not in boardrooms and committees, but by letting creative devs make " whole family" games when they have a spark!
Mark Cerny is in the right head space and his heart seems to be in the right place with regards to Knack and family interaction, but a whole family can't have much fun at the same time with Knack, but the concept is heading in the right direction. Family members in the same room having fun together playing a game at the same time.
And Sony shouldn't be content to sit back and let third-parties try to fill that space. Let's face it most third-party attempts are garbage and not worth the discs they're stamped on. Sony needs high quality first-party family games. And the benefit of being Sony means that a great family game doesn't have to be stuffed with fluff and mascots, just creativity and fun for multiple players children and adults alike.
@get2sammyb I agree with everything you're saying. I just hope it turns around and bites MS in their huge corporate back-end. And shows devs the beautiful environments provided by Sony and Nintendo. I too don't mind timed exclusivity, as a consumer (eventually I'll get the game I'm waiting for and maybe an upgraded version). If I was a dev I could see the pros and cons of it. But Day and Date publishing is meant to prod devs towards MS, and encourage neglect of it's competitors. This certainly happened in the 360/PS3/Wii gen. And Microsoft is hoping to play that tune again this gen. The trouble for them is that they were in a power position with the 360, and I don't think it's going to play the same this time around. At least I hope not, because their policies did hurt Playstation in the digital games sector and the DLC sector.
@AlexStinton Thanks! Cool, I'm really liking this whole Cross-Buy feature. I was amazed when Limbo showed up as Free on my PS Vita storefront, and then the penny dropped that I had bought it on PS3!
Not this stuff again. So tired of MS. Did I hear correctly that Capy's "Below" isn't exclusive to Xbone just "timed exclusive"? I hope it comes to PS4 and Wii U.
I don't know the references or inside jokes, I don't know the movie or like the game, but the gif is so good and adds so much to the original video. Funny stuff!
They lost me when I read this was an "online" game. If it has to be "connected", and only connected to play, then it would be a no go for me.
The concept is solid and reminds me of the ambitious game Haven on PS2. That games heart was in the right place and I've wanted something with that scope on a stronger system ever since.
Well, you won't be playing them, but a robot will. A robot you'll be starring at over a poor web cam stream while it plays the game you chose, and pressing buttons on your controller sends only mild suggestions to the robot on which buttons to press.
@get2sammyb My local grocery store has them, and they are delicious. Buns so firm you could bounce a quarter (or 50p coin) off them, you know, if you wanted to.
So Knack wasn't someone's creative spark it was a design by PR committee thing? Knack: country of origin: Boardroomia? I think we can all list dozens of games whose protagonist is not "international" and we've had no problem whatsoever. I wonder if Cerny is just covering for a group of execs "tailoring" his initial designs? Maybe not.
I think it's one of those games that doesn't look exciting, but is exciting when you actually play it-you have to play it before you see it's exciting.
About Knacks voice. Is it deep when he's big and small?
@Sanquine Wrath of Cortex and Twinsanity were both on Xbox according to Gamefaqs data. It may not have been one of those. It may have been that Crash of the Titans one on 360, I just can't recall right now.
I never played Crash Bandicoot, except for a couple demos of 3, and a demo on Xbox/PS2, but I will say this. Sony needs to buy Crash Bandicoot back and put him back in the hands of Naughty Dog and maybe even get Cerny in on it again.
I've only played the demo, but I like this game. I wish they spoke English though, the fake language doesn't really work in this instance, but other wise it seems great. To me it's like a story that occurs in a better part of the Fable universe somewhere.
I tell you, I'd love to see Vanillaware and Square-Enix collaborate on a new FF Tactics using this art style. Maybe the artist could restrain himself a little, but otherwise...
Oh, me wantee!!! I wonder when a clean trailer will be available. Best thing to come out of GamesCom 2013 in my opinion. Definitely the type of game/gameplay I'm really interested in. Team ICO doesn't need to create direct sequels to their games, because as we see, many indies are willing to give us that experience, allowing what's left of Team ICO to give us one "Last" new experience before they disband completely.
Pinball Nation is one of the best Pool games I've played, and I've played two. For me, one thing that would add to the experience would be highly customizable in-game "avatars". I can't see how it would add to the actual gameplay itself, but I like having a character to see and customize. I wouldn't want it to slow down the speed of the game, or block visuals when you're on the stick, but that's me. I'm really into customizable characters right now!
Hey, Snow finally got that dead animal out of his hair! It may have been a bird of some kind. Speaking of dead animals, I remember when Moogles used to be cute. Now they all look like bee stung little horrors that need burning with fire.
It's a start, but it's still not good enough. Not paying $80 for 32GBs when I can get regular 32s for $20-$25. Come now Sony, I'd even consider a dollar a gig.

Sorry!

I'm hoping for "timed exclusivity" on these console extras too.
Re: Rumour: Sony Working on Touch Powered PS Move for PS4?
I think Until Dawn is PS4 now. I'm probably wrong, but I think it will show up on PS4 with Move and regular controls.
@Sanquine Ha! : ) Any guesses? It's really nothing special.

Do both the PS3 and PS4 versions of Black Flag contain the Aveline extra content?
Re: Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Brings War to the Water
This would be so much better if they dropped all the "assassin/templar/abstergo" junk story and just made it a sailing pirate game.
Anyway, does anyone know if both the PS3 and PS4 versions contain the Aveline extras?
