Savage Starlight

Few things are capable of rousing the industry more than a new Naughty Dog game. Sprinkle some fresh hardware into the mix, though, and you have the recipe for an excitement overload. It’s fascinating, then, that a number of the studio's key employees recently had the opportunity to visit Elon Musk’s private aerospace company SpaceX.

It’s possible that the developer may have been taken on the tour of the Californian company’s headquarters as a treat following the success of The Last of Us, but there’s also a chance that this may have been a research-driven endeavour. If that’s the case, could the Uncharted creator’s next game take place in outer-space?

There is one other possibility. Throughout the course of Joel and Ellie’s adventure, there were constant references to an intergalactic comic called Savage Starlight. It’s feasible that the firm’s promised single player expansion for the recently released PlayStation 3 exclusive could explore that area of the fiction, rather than return to the post-apocalyptic world from the campaign.

Would you like The Last of Us’ solo add-on to adopt a more light-hearted approach? Do you think that we’re reading too much into this trip, or do you believe that the studio’s next game could take place in space? Read the constellations in the comments section below.
