Things have changed so much maybe they won't continue that trend.

@nathanuc1988 Well...that's embarrassing! Ha! Thanks for the info, can't believe I missed the "sprint". And trying the demo again with that, well Raiden does move better and can attack while running. Now it feels a little too out of control for parkour for all the crazy mid air somersaults, but it works. With Raidens claw toes, I would have liked to see him be able to run/parkour up the sheer sides of walls/buildings and backflip off them. Ah well. I too like fighting the Gekkos.

Played the demo for MGR:R and have to say I'm sad. Raiden is unbelievably immobile most of the time. He should have been able to use Vanquish-dudes boost moves, and wall run, grab ledges, and parkour all over the place. Clicking the left stick in to make Raiden dash felt intuitive...oh, right...ah well.

This just in: There is a "sprint"? I never found it. : (

The ability to do non-combat acrobatic moves would have been cool. Remember how Lara Croft could do a series of hand stand somersaults? That sort of thing. Just a way to spice up how you can move through a level. Dodges, rolls, mantling, planking...all that sort of thing.

And why isn't Raiden able to use his sword and run at the same time, or did I miss that too?

Re: Evolution of PlayStation Steps Its Game Up with Portable Systems

One of the first thoughts that flashed through my mind when I first played my PSP was-'I can hardly wait to play the Zelda game for this!' The screen was so nice, and I'd just finished playing Phantom Hourglass on DS(which was great). The thought was brief and made no sense, but I was coming off a fun Zelda experience and my head hadn't cleared yet! Ha!

The lack of a second analog nub really hurt the PSP though, imo. Especially since it was sometimes positioned as a portable PS2. Nothing pulls me out of a game quicker then physical/mental discomfort causing 'make-do' controls. So many games were seemingly made for dual sticks and deserved dual sticks.

Vita is a great machine. I've had fun, but with such limited memory I haven't been able to have lots of fun yet. I think that turns people off Vita, even those who own it, they think 'this is great but I got to put aside some money for a bigger card' and so the Vita is set aside with the goal of 'i'll get back to it when I get a bigger card'. So they may even start saving money, but soon something comes along and the money is gone, and Vita collects dust. Its just a huge artificial stumbling block created by Sony that never needed to be there, and I think it's a huge part of Vita's current condition. Sony knows this and that's why we're seeing the 32gb pack-in now.

When most consumers can take that money to buy another game for some other system, they most likely will, because it's more fun to buy a game then a memory card, and Vita will get left behind.

Re: Bungie Deploys Destiny Details, Plots PlayStation 3 Debut

"Always on". That's one term being used for this game(series), and it's amazing how quickly those two little words, "always on", dropped my anticipation and excitement for this game.

Don't get me wrong, I can understand and appreciate what they are trying to accomplish, that is Halo+Borderlands+Journey . And it sounds great for an "MMO" or MMO-lite, but I don't play mmo's and am not really interested in starting. It's the "required to be online all the time" that I don't like, even though I understand their goal. I like to play offline, with people I know via splitscreen or System Link. I rarely if ever play online multiplayer modes.

I've enjoyed every single Halo game so far (haven't played 4 yet). And this sounds interesting and fun, but "always on" is a deal breaker for me.

It also sounds like a clever DRM.

Having visited the Bungie site again, and read some of the PR material for Destiny, I'd forgotten just how pretentious Bungie can be. I think others here where touching on that too.

Oh well, would have liked to play it but I guess I'll give it a miss.

Re: Rumour: Ex-Sony Employee Suggests The Last Guardian Is for PS4

ThreadShadow

Oh well...guess I'll watch it on Youtube. I'll be upset about this if true, and it most likely is.
Moving ICO from PS to PS2 is one thing because no one knew anything about it and had no expectations for it, but moving Guardian from PS3 to PS4 is somewhat inexcusable and frankly a bit mean. They gave it a big announcement and everything, people knew about it and had expectations and promises.

So who deserves the larger amount of fuming, Sony, or Ueda himself?

But I wish much happiness to everyone who gets it for PS4, I only ask that some of you post playthroughs on Youtube, and please no commentary! Haha!

Re: Sony Mocks Microsoft with PlayStation Advertisements

Seems Xbox was brought about with the sole purpose of destroying PlayStation so it's only fair.

Taking a swipe at "Casual" and Nintendo? Hmmm...could come across as sour grapes since their casual push wasn't as successful as Nintendo's, or could be just getting back at Nintendo for Nintendo's "glasses free 3D" jab!

This is going to be a war, but for some reason I think MS has lost already. Interesting to watch how it plays out.

Re: The Last Guardian Re-emerges Ahead of PlayStation Meeting

Feb 20 might feature the lions share of info about PS4, but at the end they may have a little time for PS3-like saying, while you wait for PS4, please remember to enjoy PS3, and here's what you have to look forward to on PS3 the rest of this year...a reel of trailers is shown featuring the likes of FF Versus Xiii, and finishing with the grand finale of The Last Guardian. It could happen.

I'll say this, I hope Guardian is released on PS3 as well as PS4, because this is where I get off, and I don't want to miss out on the game that was a major part of why I bought the PS3.

Wasn't FFXII, and Shadow of the Colossus released fairly late in the life cycle of the PS2 and just on the eve of the PS3?
