Re: MindsEye Studio Laying Off More Staff as It Doubles Down on Conspiracy Theory

SeanOhOgain

I recently reread the interview the leaders of BARB did with Edge Magazine about their platform Everything and Mindseye. In hindsight they were focusing on the completely wrong things, pie in the sky ideas, bloat, and just seemed like leadership thought they'd be able to burn cash indefinitely. I highly doubt we'll ever see a court case about the conspiracy, seems like a pretty obvious distraction tactic

Re: Marathon PS5 Is Out Here Turning Its Launch Trailer into a Music Video

@OneWingedShadow apologies I wasn't being more nuanced in a 2 sentence comment! I guess I just see the business model through the code; eat your time for a reward they I don't think matches the commitment. I play single player games mostly for story which is a great reward, mechanical depth as a close 2nd. I'll gladly play some single player racing games for s time, but I soon see the dopamine built into the mechanics and lose interest. If you enjoy the loop and are in for the long haul, go for it! I think the game looks great and hope its very successful

Re: 'I Feel Cheated and I Want a Refund': Fans Lash Out at New PS5 God of War's Unlockable Local Multiplayer Mode

I'll be honest, I think this is a really disingenuous article and not up to the standard I usually expect from Push Square.
Taking 1 (!) example and making s massive deal is really silly. And then the text of the article trying to make the reaction seem unreasonable is stretching things quite a lot.
I have no interest in this game, but to be fair the 2 brothers are on the cover of the game and from the trailer I was under the impression you can okay the entire game co-op. This is on Sony for not advertising correctly and I don't blame people for feeling short changed

Re: Today, You'll Finally Get to Form Your Own Opinion on PS5 Shooter Highguard

@Toot1st Well I think if something is arrogantly advertised to you, you're well in your to deride the product. You can also argue there's opportunity costs due to products being made, and if games like this fail there might be more money brought to single player games (which I assume most gamers on websites like this enjoy).
There's also a "I told you so" element. When the public can look at a product and say "that's going to fail", and then that becomes true, people feel pretty darn good that they know more than executives.
To make it clear, no one should want to see anyone lose their jobs or for studios to go under.

Re: Today, You'll Finally Get to Form Your Own Opinion on PS5 Shooter Highguard

I totally understand why people are so ready to hate this game; it was introduced at the game awards as "This thing you will love" and it's once again a cynical, generic GAS shooter. You cans see the board room where this was cooked up, how they ended up with these design choices as producers cut away at anything that would have personality to appeal to the most players. The devs making this are no doubt talented and the game probably feels very good, but this is what happens when investors think gamers will play anything that they pump into the market

Re: Marathon PS5 Officially Dated for 5th March, Up for Pre-Order at $40

SeanOhOgain

@UltimateOtaku91 I think that most commenters don't like Playstation is wildly untrue, but that most folks here dislike PS making Live-Service? Yes, sure!
Pre-order charts on PS are opaque in terms of if they actually reflect interest or what PS want you to be interested in, but I take your point on Steam! I hope the game is successful, I love it's art direction
