We'll probably all scream yee-haw when Red Dead Redemption 2 is announced – after all, the game's been in development since before the days that people spoke with exaggerated twangs and the main form of traversal was on horseback. A leaked Linked In profile has raised hopes for the title's imminent release, as a Rockstar veteran named Ruben Tavares has included the sequel on his resume.
Unfortunately, the veteran Senior 3D Artist's profile is riddled with typing errors; he mentions having worked on – and we quote – "Midnight Clu: Los Angleses", for example, so it's possible that he may have hit the "2" key by mistake. Maybe? Oh alright, that's preposterous: we know Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming, it's just a question of when. E3 would be a mighty nice venue for an announcement, don't you think?

I'm wondering what time period will the next Red Dead game be set. RDR was set at the end of the "Wild West" so will the next game be set in the past?
With things like this....I guess it's possible that artwork etc could be created early on and then decided to not go through with the game? There must be lots of concept art out there for games that never get made...
Who knows!!!!
@vagineer1 Yeah, I think a lot of people have had this conversation because Red Dead Redemption felt "complete" in many ways. It'll be interesting to see what they do with it.
Reminds me of the time when Mercenaries 3 was cancelled. Artwork was made but the game wasn't. Real shame. I'd kill for another Mercenaries game.
@get2sammyb I remember hearing rumors a few years ago that the next Red Dead game would be set sometime during the 1800s. I think it was 10 years after the first RD game.
The "first" one was amazing...I'll welcome any news of a sequel with joy.
@KratosMD I liked the multiplayer in concept, I just didn't enjoy the "shooting" in RDR much - I thought that was the weakest part. If they can tighten up the controls and stuff, I'm sure RDR2 will be a masterpiece.
I enjoyed a lot of things about the first game, pretty much everything but even though I enjoyed trotting around on my horsey I really couldn't be bothered with all the travelling. I'd like to see a bigger town with lots of interactions between NPCs. I actually prefer the undead game.
@KratosMD completely agree. I'm more of a single player dude by default, but playing with close mates and riding out in our own posse was something truly special.
If there's one game I'd like an HD-remaster-definitive-ultimate edition, it's RDR...
A little surprised it hasn't happened considering how well GTA5 PS4/X1 has sold...
@vagineer1 Well during the 1800s is a no brainer right? Any further back and it would have to be a colonial type setting on the east coast among the original 13 states.
I have a feeling they will pull a Bethesda with this. Announce during E3 and give a release date for the holiday season, we can only hope, lol.
it will be a glorious day when its finally announced.
Let's just say I'll be very, very surprised if it doesn't get announced this year. Possibly released as well.
I hope it's set in the future. Sci fi wild west.
RDR was pretty awesome though, should be interesting to see how they improve it.
It should look absolutely gorgeous too. I'm looking forward to some glorious western sunsets.
new Midnight Club please. Midnight Club : Tokyo streets
Good. The sooner this is out, the sooner focus shifts to Grand Theft Auto VI.
Feels like we have been waiting forever . Absolutely loved the Red Dead Redemption. The single player story was great and the online with buddies was outstanding !!!! Doing missions with pals and red dead nightmare . Such a fun time . The challenges were great . Sometimes we still go on the ol' ps3 to play red dead just to steal some wagons and buggies and drive them off of the highest cliffs or to throw some dynamite at each other to pass the time . The ps3 doesn't get turned on as often as it use to now that my brother and I are co-oping it up on the ps4 but we will always return to red dead redemption. Unless we see a related for the ps4 that is .
@Gamer83 Different developers. North does gta, San Diego does red dead. There is some overlap, but both titles should be in development at the same time.
Red Dead Revolver was set in the 1880s and had a great Weird West and Spaghetti Western feel with over the top characters. I love that one but not as much as RDR. If a new game is coming I'd personally like to see a jump back to Spaghetti Western feel but with less Weird West characters. Maybe shortly after the Civil War.
The mystery remains about what R* is currently working on. That is what the 99.5% of the staff not working on Gta 5 online is working on. If it is RDR 2 with a release this year then that would be great news.
@LieutenantFatman Now that's an idea I can get behind!
I'd be cool with bully 2?
Come on Rockstar - this isn't the game we all want. We all want...
Table Tennis 2!
Maybe the secret project is a remaster of gta 5 for the PS4.5 and Xbone.5.
