Anyway, I am against this petition, same as I am against PS exclusivity. There is absolutely no advantage for me as a consumer to have games gatekept. I would much rather be able to play everything on my device of choice. “But it hurts the brand” , well, good thing I am a fan of games and not brands.

I played the ME trilogy again couple years ago and yet first thing that springs to mind is Saint’s Row.

I didn’t find it bad, just …boring. Lots of non handcrafted environments, the inventory management, bunch of mechanics that did not interest me. Ugh.

From a business perspective, this might make all the sense in the world.
From a gamer/consumer perspective it is absolutely nonsensical to be celebrating this.
Does releasing a game also on PC play a part in its overall quality? Does the fact that people on other consoles are able to play the game diminish your enjoyment of it?
I read about how the pc masterrace people will be upset. Are we really that petty?
How would being able to play nintendo, xbox and sony games on the same platform be bad for us as players?Never would happen of course, but why would anyone ever be against that?
And when you say that you want exclusives to buy the console, you basically mean you are not really a fan of PS as a console but are only buying it because you are not able to play its games elsewhere. Makes absolutely no sense.

Wasnt Sony reporting record profits? Didnt that Japanese guy mention to the shareholders how they are pushing the tariff costs to the consumers? Yeah, im not gonna shed any tears over their sales drop. If anything , it might force them to be less greedy and more consumer friendly.

Is it too much to ask for a site where we get informed on our favorite console without being in an echo chamber? Does everyone really need that much validation of their choices?

@Briarback i dont think he is a fanboy at all. Its all about engagement/revenue. And an article on a service that has nothing to do with playstation drives up engagement every time. People who get rage baited vs fanboys who pile on the GP hate.

They have teams of analysts figuring out how to maximize profit down to the last dollar. Makes sense from a business standpoint. But trying to defend their practices as a consumer is nonsensical. Sony are not the good guys and “for the players” is just a meme.

@AdamNovice yeah thank god we have to buy our games. The fact that some people value Sony’s financial wellbeing over their own pockets never ceases to amaze.

Xbox is now so far behind in the console wars that this pivot makes sense. Depends if they manage to combine the flexibility of PC with the comfort and fun of couch gaming. As for Sony i expect them to create more quality single player blockbusters. If that output remains low because of their golden goose obsession with live services, i ll just stick to PC.

I am a consumer and as such i find the subscription services to be a pretty good deal for me. As for less games being made, that is what the industry needs, as it is pretty obvious supply is larger than demand.

Thats just how these corporations act. When they are on top and having record profits they give 0 f’s about consumers. When they struggle against the competition they try to present a consumer friendly profile.

Idk if he is beloved but i only found out about him from the myriad of articles in here about every little thing he says in his interviews. Personally i am more interested in games than corporate.

I am so excited for the “unfathomable profits” of my favorite corporation. And may i suggest further increases in the prices of games and hardware? That way the profits could become even more unfathomable. Oh and how about a strategic restructure as well? I am so excited it almost feels like im sharing in these unfathomable profits.
