Re: PS5 Brute Force Fixes Cyberpunk 2077's PS4 Technical Problems

Whilst I am enjoying the game a lot, I've gotta wonder where those 8 years went. The only really well realised elements are the story and the world (man, what a world). How is crafting so bad? Why are the menus so bland and unintuitive? Why is the NPC AI so, so, SO basic? These things should have been locked down a long time back. Where did all that time go?!

@Zeke68 I agree and I wasnt talking about the PS4 performance on this PS5 article, so I'm not sure why you felt the need to ask me that. As their track record suggests, CD Project Red are again their own worst enemies. As we all know the game was originally conceived as a current gen game, but the developers, being the massive tech nerds they are, were unable to reign in their ambition and the project suffered. Is it right? No. Is it the situation we are in? Yes. Will they get away with it? Unfortunately, probably yes. For me the performance on PS5 is good (once they sort out the crashes and the exiting vehicle bug), YMMV, but I can't comment on the PS4 experience as I've not tried it.

As of the patch on Friday, I was loving it. Resolution and pop density has increased and it's still 60 fps. But then last night I was getting a repeatable geometry glitch everytime I exited a vehicle (cars or bikes). I've gotta walk everywhere or reload everytime I get out of a car. Anyone else getting this (playing on PS5)?

Re: Days Gone Is Trending on Twitter Because of Cyberpunk 2077

@Nepp67 So to settle this, I've made a forum post asking for others opinions. If the consensus agrees with you, then I will apologise and accept my defeat. If people agree with me, well I don't know, because I don't expect you to take it gracefully. Please feel free to visit the post (in the PS4 section) and lay out exactly why you think it's a survival game.

Re: Days Gone Is Trending on Twitter Because of Cyberpunk 2077

Haha, not at all! I've tried explaining to you rationally, only for you to insinuate that I'm stupid TWICE, so I thought I may as well start speaking in a language you understand. Not only is 'Days Gone' not a survival or a survival horror game, it's also not a very good game at all! Enjoyable, yes, but not good. Apart from the graphics and the HDR implementation (which is ace). But you don't want a discussion, you want an argument.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Hovers Around 720p on PS4, Drops As Low As 15FPS

@HMazzy111 Personally, no. I've started on the life path that is the least interesting to me and will do one playthrough, then I'll do the other two on the proper PS5 version. I totally get why people want to wait, but I was too eager to explore the world. Also, I am kinda curious to compare this version to the PS5 version, so I'm playing now. Honestly, it's not that bad once you get used to it, but I appreciate people have difference levels of tolerance for these kind of things.

EDIT: Just seen your other comment. I'm also on a 65 inch TV. You're milage will vary depending how much low resolutions bother you. May as well give it a go for an hour and then uninstall if you decide to wait.

EDIT 2: Yes, I'm hoping a resolution patch for PS5 will be quickly coming.

@CaptainFail I agree with you that the Red engine is poorly optimised, but to say CP is not doing much with the graphics is incorrect. It's a much more dense world than Tsushima and RDR2 (in terms of clutter, not pop density - especially on PS4), lots more assests to stream in, billions of baked lighting maps... Plus, how fast do you move in Tsushima and Red Dead? Horse speed is the fastest. Cars and bikes go faster, so again the game has higher streaming demands. I totally agree that the game is poorly optimised, but disagree with your ascertation that the game is 'not doing much' with it's graphics.

Re: Hands On: This Is How Cyberpunk 2077 Runs on PS5, PS4 Pro, and PS4

PossibLeigh

I've played half hour of the Nomad path so far. It's not been stretched yet, but it's very smooth. Animations are good, the models aren't too bad and it's seeming like an impressively cluttered open world. But, yeah, that resolution stinks. There is some kind of VRR like tech in play too. Generally it is very soft looking. I think it's going under 1080 a lot. But then, I do have a big ass TV. I'm undecided as to if I continue, or wait. Maybe they will release at least a PS5 specific patch for the resolution.
Edit: The very opening of the Nomad path seems to go very low, but now I'm in the city, I'm either noticing it less, or it's picked up a bit.

Re: Poll: Are You Buying Cyberpunk 2077?

My copy for PS4 has arrived today and, I've gotta say, it's a really lovely package! Postcards, stickers, a map and a compendium introduction to Night City. It's really impressive! Someone at CDProjekt seems to have the same affection for old physical games releases that I do.

Re: Spider-Man: Miles Morales PS5 Update Adds Ray Tracing at 60FPS, Here's What It Looks Like

PossibLeigh

This is great! I've been a little dejected at the number of next gen games that make us choose between frame rate / resolution / ray-tracing. I'm pleased to see that both ray-tracing and 60 fps can be done if implemented intelligently. Does anyone remember all the claims from MS and Sony earlier in the year? 4k, 60 fps on everything was promised, I believe. I knew it was bollocks then.
