Re: EMAGON Is Not the PS4 Exclusive You Were Hoping For

Munkyknuts

A tantalising trailer for a game that never was...a disappointment similar to seeing a trailer on TV and thinking, wow what film/show is that? Then realising it's just an advert for car insurance or whiskey or whatever.
It's good that it's raising money for a good cause tho.

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight's Latest PS4 Trailer Twists Metal

Munkyknuts

Trailer isn't anything special but the idea of a Batman game set in a hunk of Gotham big enough to need the Batmobile to get around is amazing. I would likely choose to still get around on foot as really the vehicle combat looks like it could get old fast from what I've seen....but really, this is my most anticipated game ( I'm just slightly fond of Batman )

Re: Just What the Heck Is PS4's EMAGON?

Munkyknuts

I'm intrigued....hoping for something emotive and elegant....probably end up being an always online multiplayer shooting game with the twist that, in the full trailer, some sweaty Steampunky super soldier stands on the shoot just after it sprouts, as smoke billowing warmachines fly over head and it incorporates everything I hate in one game

I don't think the footage is filmed/real, but I don't think it's game level CGI either...it seems higher quality.

I'll be interested to hear more.

Re: Weirdness: Sony's Made a Watch Out of E-Paper

Munkyknuts

@Punished_Boss_84 The E paper has a lot of potential in a range of products...if it's handled right it could be a huge money maker for Sony....and Sony certainly needs the funds. If this hadn't been reported on here I'd likely have never known these watches exist, so I'm happy they did.

Re: PS4 Loses Black Friday Battle, Research Firm Claims

Munkyknuts

I didn't get involved in Black Friday here in the UK but I noticed some stores were offering far better XB1 bundle deals then they were for the PS4...the deals Game offered on the Microsoft system were amazing compared to the PS4 package offered at the same price....I've been with Sony since the PS1 but the amount of stuff offered in the XB1 was enough to have me briefly considering an impulse buy...
I'm no analyst and I didn't see all the deals offered everywhere but what I did see showed Xbox One deals offering more bang for your buck.

Re: Injustice, Secret Ponchos, and Hitman Headline December's PlayStation Plus Lineup

Munkyknuts

A strong showing on PS3...I really liked the last Hitman game and I never played the earlier games so that will be interesting...and never played Deadly Premonition.
Secret ponchos won't be my thing if it's mainly multiplayer so I'll likely skip that...and I have limited interest in fighting games so Injustice won't get much playtime beyond me being Batman, still certainly worth getting tho.
A really strong showing on PS+ this month and it's nice to see the last gen getting some love.

Re: Feature: Five Reasons Why You Should Buy a PS4 This Holiday

Munkyknuts

By next year there will be further price cuts to what the system costs now....so while I agree a console is a long term investment, if there isn't any software attracting buyers now they might as well wait and take advantage of what new deals the ongoing console wars bring in time for Christmas 2015, and some high profile games will be released reviewed and gamers opinions of them noted...instead of anticipating games worth playing on your new console only for them to be delayed or fall short and disappoint on release.

Re: Amazon UK Black Friday Discounts Hook Up Watch Dogs on PS4

Munkyknuts

@Jonny Watchdogs was the game I wanted a PS4 to play but I realised it was falling short when it got delayed...still enjoyed the imperfect end product tho. I have a huge backlog of games myself so I know how it is. I have games I bought as well as games from plus that I need to get around to. Just not enough time in my life to play them all...being a grown up just sucks lol.

Re: Amazon UK Black Friday Discounts Hook Up Watch Dogs on PS4

Munkyknuts

@Jonny Watchdogs is more than just a GTA clone, so is sleeping dogs, they just suffer from the obvious comparison of being city based sand box games...if being that is all it requires to be counted as GTA wannabes then I guess they can be counted as such, but I think it's unfair to everything else that went into them. If Watchdogs drops to a low enough price Id recommend giving it a shot...I really liked its murky tones and the feel of the world it presented.

Re: Delve into Destiny's Dark Below Expansion Pack on PS4, PS3

Munkyknuts

Way too high a price for far too little new content. The main game only had ongoing playability if you had a taste for repeating the same stuff over and over again for the chance at new stuff....to make doing the same stuff over and over again a little different, or if the competitive multiplayer continues being fun for you...and I can see why the competitive element would continue being a draw, it is excellent. I just sucked at it. I recall reading the expansion will also herald the arrival of new items and stuff for everyone....so, more stuff to grind around collecting.
That price is shocking tho. I got Alien: Isolation on PS4 for only a little more than this expansion costs. I'm glad I got rid of Destiny.

Re: Review: Aqua Kitty: Milk Mine Defender DX (PlayStation 4)

Munkyknuts

I saw a Vs video of this being played on Achievement Hunter and it really didn't seem like my kind of thing at all...just not my kind of game really, tho I did quite like PixelJunk Shooter. I have to admit that while I love indie games, I'm getting bored of the pixelated retro look so many are going for...the PS4 is capable of producing glorious visuals, and even the PS3 was no slouch...more Indie titles with some visual ambition would be nice....Limbo, Journey, flower, the unfinished swan, Valiant Hearts (not an indie, but has many indie sensibilities) all went for a different kind of look.

Re: Weirdness: What if You Could Play PSone Games on Your Watch?

Munkyknuts

I had a Double Dragon watch, I'd totally forgotten about it until I read this article. Games on a smart watch just seem like a rubbish idea altogether really...but then smart watches themselves are only going to lead to folk being more tech addicted and insulated than they are now....it's bad enough having to control my slap reflex when talking to someone and they are messing with their phone all the time without having them staring at their watch all the time.

Re: Collect Your Own Precursor Orb from the Naughty Dog Shop

Munkyknuts

It's a cool enough looking thing, reminds me of 1st playing the game way back when I was about 16yrs old....also reminds me of trying Jak & Daxter: the precursor legacy as part of the HD collection and just not enjoying the game any where near as much. It's a lot of money tho and these are tough times....if have to have way way more disposable income, but even then there are other geeky things I'd buy 1st to decorate my home.

Re: Store Preview: Akiba's Trip PS4, Guilty Gear Demo, Geometry Wars 3

Munkyknuts

Thomas was Alone is a beautiful game. Already have it on PS3 and on my iPhone (mobile controls aren't good at all). Anyone who hasn't played it yet and likes a game with a good involving story should give it a try. The rest of the list isn't very interesting to me, tho I might have to try the Lego Batman demo on PS3 just to sate my love of the Dark Knight.

Re: Wait, There's a New PlayStation 3 Firmware Update?

Munkyknuts

@get2sammyb it is still a very good system. I may get Assassins Creed Rogue and I still have the likes of Ni No Kuni to play...and planned replays of Skyrim and Dishonoured with the DLC I Bought and never tried...my PS3 will still get usage for the foreseeable future.

Re: Wait, There's a New PlayStation 3 Firmware Update?

Munkyknuts

I still use my PS3 often....that won't last forever I guess as the last game I bought for it was South Park: the stick of truth, and I'll eventually get thru my backlog of PS+ games....and since the plus offerings for PS3 mostly suck now I guess any need to turn the old system on will dry up....sad but inevitable.

Re: Review: Dragon Age: Inquisition (PlayStation 4)

Munkyknuts

@Bad-MuthaAdebis This is the kind of game I've been longing for since I finished Skyrim....I love having a massive world to explore and a deep well written narrative. I love making choices that really effect the story of the game aswell, rather than being dragged along to a pre written conclusion and jumping thru hoops as I do so. I'm going to have to wait till Christmas for this....it's going to be a long gruelling wait.

Re: Review: Dragon Age: Inquisition (PlayStation 4)

Munkyknuts

Damn....that's a good review Mr Ramsey. I'm totally sold on this now....along with Farcry 4. I need both games in my life now. It's lucky I work in education and get off all those juicy school holidays and I expect I'll get both games from Santa. Only sad thing is having to wait so long, but I'll make do with Alien: Isolation and PS+ games until then.

Re: Will PS4 Exclusive Bloodborne Feature Randomly Generated Dungeons?

Munkyknuts

@Alpha I can see the appeal of the games, I just don't get much time to game anymore so I tend to go for a more casual experience. I only tried the one that was free on PS+, I forget which that was. I perhaps didn't give it as much of a go as I should have with it being a plus game, played a bit and then put aside to try something else.

Re: You'll Be Taking Pictures of Panties in This PS4, PS3 Game

Munkyknuts

Ah Japanese oddness....I had forgotten how strange a folk they can be until I played Yakuza 3(or four, I forget) and it reminded me of my days of watching Anime, particularly Manga. The idea of a photography simulator game actually appeals to me...shame the main attention it's getting is for the creepy/odd voyeuristic panty snapping....Yakuza had a superhero with a thing for underpants and ping pong against bikini wearing overly jiggly girls but it wasn't what got focused on the most.
The sexual tendencies of the Japanese is a long deep and winding rabbit hole to go down into...anyone disturbed by the up skirt photos in this really shouldn't look into how strange it can all get.

Re: Will PS4 Exclusive Bloodborne Feature Randomly Generated Dungeons?

Munkyknuts

Games look and style is awesome....the title featuring a sword stick as a weapon is just even more awesome.... Victorian style and lethality. However the high difficulty of Dark Souls and Demon Souls wasn't my kind of thing, I'm just not hard core enough for them. If Bloodborne is simarily challenging Id never stand a chance of completing it.

Re: You Can Poop on People in Grand Theft Auto V on PS4

Munkyknuts

Well it turned out better than I thought it would when I read the headline...I expected it to be the characters squatting over fallen foes and pedestrians and giving them a steaming chocolate moustache....got magic animals pooing instead....good. But still weird.

Re: First Impressions: Coming Home to Grand Theft Auto V on PS4

Munkyknuts

I loved GTAV on PS3 but if I'd known I was getting a PS4 Id have waited for the next gem remaster as it does look beautiful, and it was far from ugly on the last gen console. As it stands I'm certainly not paying £50 for a remastered title when I have new titles to pick up like Farcry 4 and Dragon Age: Inquisition.
As to other open worlds on playstation I thought Second Son felt quite sterile and empty...I loved the gritty grim Chicago of Watch Dogs but seeing shots of how it was meant to look compared to how it did look are saddening...as different as shots of GTAV on PS3 and PS4. My favourite sandbox game, that felt vibrant and alive was Red Dead Redemption....glorious game. My favourite open world is still Fallout 3.

Re: Review: Never Alone (PlayStation 4)

Munkyknuts

I've been watching the development of this game but I didn't know it was hitting the Playstation so soon. This looks gorgeous and the love and artistry that goes into titles like this make up for some of their short comings. While I, like others, am bored of puzzle platformers this at least has real style and a narrative to invest in....I'm bored of FPS games as well but I'll make exceptions for ones that do something different or incredibly well.

Re: We'd Like to Fill the Whole Year with PS4 Exclusives, Says Sony

Munkyknuts

I'd not include remasters in the list really...while they are indeed Playstation exclusives they aren't PS4 exclusives and as such I mostly played them in their last gen incarnation.
We might have been a bit light on exclusives this year but It's better to spread them out, and there has been enough multi platform releases to keep me Mostly entertained...exclusives are nice but my gaming life doesn't revolve around them. DriveClub may have been something of a disaster to date, but so has the likes of Assassins Creed:Unity for those who were hit by the bugs and glitches more than others. Both exclusive titles and 3rd party releases have had low points.
Overall, honestly I could have survived this year without a PS4 and made do with my PS3...but now that games I've been looking forward to are getting closer, some PS4 exclusive, I'll be pleased I moved up from the PS3.

Re: Review: Assassin's Creed Rogue (PlayStation 3)

Munkyknuts

Story line of this alone makes it interesting to me....but if the play time is brief I'll wait until it goes down in price....I don't have much issue with switching between PS3 and PS4 I do so reguarly to dip into my PS+ backlog. I thought maybe I'd get this while I wait for Unitys issues to be sorted out, but it seems I'll be waiting to play both.
