Damn....some weird folk on the net, 1st time I've really seen a troll crawl from under his bridge on here tho. Anyway, games developers scout locations just like film companies do...so it's really not surprising to see an existing location in a game. They did an amazing job with capturing the bleak beauty of dereliction in TLOU....but I don't have any platinum trophies so despite my being PS since the PS1 I'll just declare any opinions null and void
Themes may have been introduced but very few are available....as it stands the only one worth using is the 20th Anniversary theme (for me anyway). I thought there would be a lot more variety at this point, so wallpapers can't hurt.
For the love of gods let it be Fallout 4 and Dishonoured 2!! Either of them would be good, both would be orgasmically amazing....I need to go hyper ventilate in the anticipation of it all.
I love strategy games and I feel the lack of them in my life since years ago when I used to play Dawn of War obsessively on my PC. I'd love a good dose of strategic gaming on the PS4 but this doesn't look like it.
@SteveButler2210 The Fables comics are excellent. I've not played 'the wolf among us' yet but I will sometime just because of how much I love the comics.
I'm conflicted. I played a few hours of Farcry 4 and liked it a lot but then felt I wasn't done with Dragon Age: inquisition so I created a new character to start a second play through as a mean badass female inquisitor....but I chose a qunari warrior and it doesn't feel right....I might start again as an elf. So I guess I'll be playing the character creation screen of DA:I this weekend.
I'd never really considered it all really until Christmas. My partners sister got a PS4 as a surprise gift for her kids and it was the 1st time they had owned a Playstation or any games console. It took a while for them to get used to it. I sometimes have trouble with new control schemes, especially if it's the same genre of game that I've just played but has different controls. I just see learning controls as part of gaming...only way around it is ending up having games being like QTEs or taking on the more intuitive motion control of things like the Wii and some mobile games. I've been a gamer since I was a child with a NES so learning controls is just an accepted thing to me.
Lesson learned from Destiny....I'll believe a game meets expectations once it's actually out and has been experienced. Hopefully this does all its meant to do as well as looking pretty.
The conversations are lovely in DA:I but there were times that Id not hear any for ages. I enjoyed Solas debating freedom and free will with Ironbull....and some exchanges between Cole and Blackwall were excellent. I barely used Sera or Varric in my 1st play through as my own character was an archer. On my next play I'll be a mean hard ass female warrior or Mage and use Sera and Varric more and hear their banter...it's good the update has hit. I'll play thru Farcry 4 and then hit this again.
It's a very good price for Alien: Isolation. I paid £24.99 for it before Xmas and it was totally worth it for anyone who likes slow burning sci fi horror.
I love FPS games but I hate multiplayer...is the single player campaign in Black ops 2 worth the reduced asking price?
I grabbed the whole lot...well not the Vita title. If I play thief I imagine I'll go for a cheap PS4 copy rather than PS3 and honestly I can't remember if the last Yakuza game I played was 3 or 4. I need a solid few weeks to play thru this massive backlog.
The price of DLC for this game is shocking...if the content of this expansion actually has enough to it to be worth the price it's verging on being another game in the series rather than just an expansion.
I'm long done with Destiny....I might revisit it when the DLC is cheap and maybe they sort out all the things they are doing wrong since despite its faults, weird choices and lack of real content, it is a very very pretty looking and sounding game with beautiful gunplay....I just refuse to pay the price they are asking for the additional content. Maybe I'll try the inevitable GOTY edition sometime in the future.
The Tesco store in Sunderland has no knowledge of this deal...me showing them this article is the 1st they have heard of it. Any info on what the stores are where this is available?
Damn....Id buy a Vita for £49. I've never had a big interest in handheld gaming but I'm sure cross buy and PS+ can make a purchase worthwhile. I just finished work so I'm off to the nearest store.
If a game is going to go for witty banter and pop culture references then it certainly needs to be well written....I'm not expecting Joss Wedon or Quinten Tarantino levels of word play but it's something to aspire to. I'm interested in this series but I'm quite a literary fellow so bad writing makes my brain hurt.
While I'm one of the 'vocal minority' that is cynical towards remasters, that is usually directed towards games that only came out a short time ago on the previous generation console and so reek of double dipping money making. I, somehow, totally missed playing this game when it 1st released tho I was aware of it. It looks exactly like my kind of game and it's pedigree is strong. The only thing that will hold me back from buying it is a huge backlog of other quality titles waiting for attention thanks to impulse buys from the PS store and PS+ and my ever decreasing amount of free time to be able to game.
Beautiful art style and an interesting premise for a game handled in an interesting way. My love of smaller indie titles continues. As others have said, I give every plus game a fair go.
I'm 105hrs in....I'm not sure how much more there is to do but it still seems to have stuff that needs to be done. It's an impressive experience and I love making choices that really feel like they impact on the world. It's pretty and there have been times I've stopped playing just to listen to the orchestral score...the music in the Emerald Graves is lovely. The characters are all interesting, tho I find Sera irritating. I'm definitely a fan despite not liking DA1 and never playing the 2nd game. I don't get much gaming time so DA:I will last me weeks and weeks.
I work with children with serious behavioural issues and educational needs. Sadly I appear to be good at it so I'm more likely to make a living from it than as a world famous artist/illustrator lol. I do have a PS4 but only because I got one as an overly generous Christmas gift. I find it harder and harder to do much more than watch Netflix on it tho lol.
I'm tired of zombies but not to the point I would say no to a really well done game that does something a bit different. I'll wait for more reviews and see how it goes.
@ToddlerNaruto I still get into situations where I start to look for the nearest adult for help and then realise I work with children and the nearest grown up is me lol. I try my best to hold onto my childlike glee and joy in the world, but all the adult stuff keeps catching up with me. On the plus side I get loads of holiday a year....downside I catch all the germs kids are carrying and spend that free time wishing I was dead and oozing snot all over my PS4 controller
@ToddlerNaruto i recall being far more of a gaming badass in my youth...if platinum trophies had existed back then Id have some. Now sadly I squeeze in an hour or so of gaming a night...I fear that will vanish when I get to having kids. As it is I think Dragon Age: Inquisition will last me until around March. Even if I had more time Id still not push for challenges in games...I'm just too lazy lol.
@ToddlerNaruto I played and loved Kingdom Hearts 1&2 but while I happily found all the missing dalmation puppies, got all the gummy blocks and all that, I balked at the higher levels of the coleseum and trying to beat screen filling Titans. That was when I was a care free and much younger art student...b*gger all chance of me taking on stuff like that as a 33yr old busy and barely sociably functional adult.
If anyone took on that challenge and didn't end up throwing their PS4 out of the window after the file has been erased then they would have my respect and also pity of them suffering whatever disorder makes them enjoy such pain.
I play games on normal/medium setting and move on as I play for the experience rather than the challenge....casual gamer 4 life
Yeah....stores will be flooded with returned copies. Give your game back rather than enjoying playing it and sit twiddling your thumbs as you wait for the tamed version to be deployed...mhmm
@AhabSpampurse lol...it is what it is. Platinums usually require some element of multiplayer or performing actions that exist just to get that trophy....I hate MP and once the narrative element of a game is done I rarely continue playing enough to find every one of 100 coins/papers/gems/feathers/whatever. i was close to platinum in Saints Row 3 but I got bored of trying to find all the shortcuts.
I've never yet gained a platinum trophy....just way too casual a gamer to ever do it. Saints Row the Third is the closest I've ever come to it. It is bizarre that some game have them platinums and some don't.
All 3 PS4 titles are highly desirable to me. I always liked the look of Grim Fandango but totally missed playing it. However I'm still battling throught Dragon age: Inquisition, I have Farcry 4 after that and a huge backlog of games on both PS3 and PS4 to tackle...I can't keep adding to the line of games waiting to be played so I need to be super selective....Life Is Strange might just still end up being bought tho.
I went for bleach blonde cockney voiced guy in SR 3 and 4....loved 3 as it was a funny and silly alternative to the dull and oh so serious open worlds of the likes of GTA4 and Mafia 2. SR4 just really really lacked something for me in its story and even in the humour. The visual made my eyes want to cry and fighting aliens and running up buildings just wasn't as fun as cruising around in a custom badass car and fighting different gangs that oozed with personality....and it's out alongside GTA5 which has plenty of humour in it that its previous instalment lacked. I really hope the next Saints Row is back to gang warfare.
@dellyrascal I feel exactly the same way. The powers got dull fast and a lot of what I liked was lacking because of the focus on super smashing dull repetitive feeling aliens. Also the murky visuals really screwed my eyes up.
I've always disliked Gat as a character...and I loved Saints Row 3 so I'm a fan of the humour and silliness of the series. However I hated SR4 it looked awful and I just found the storyline boring...it just felt like it should have been DLC for the last game, which in a rarity for me, I bought all the DLC for. Buying DLC for a game that feels like DLC just doesn't do it for me.

@Mrskinner yeah I tried a Qunari warrior and an Elven knife wielding Rogue before I went with an archer. My 1st dragon encounter was in the Hinterlands as well...went from 'ooooh a dragon! That's amazing!' To 'aaaargh sh*t a flock of baby dragons and a really angry dragon!' And all my party being ash stains very quickly. I stayed away from going near them again until I was level 12-13.
@Mrskinner I'm 54 hours in and honestly I've no idea how far through the whole game I am. I've done as much as I can in every area I visit and take plenty of time exploring....I took on my 1st dragon yesterday, it was amazing. It's a truly epic game that I'll need to play at least once more so I can make different choices including picking a different class from my human Rogue/archer goody goody nice guy.
This game is meant to be poor anyway...I'll keep waiting for the next single player Elder Scrolls or Fallout 4. Until then ill continue to savour Dragon Age: Inquisition and hopefully The Witcher when it comes out.
Admittedly since I'm hugely antisocial and hate multiplayer even if the Elder Scrolls online was rated as amazing I'd still not play it.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi when I finally get through with my play through as a good rogue/archer I have to play through again making negative/evil choices...with games like DA:I, Skyrim, Fallout 3 and Deus Ex with moral systems in them that really change the narrative I always play at least twice...I might go with a mean warrior/vanguard next time. I love games like Dragon Age...my favourite kind of gaming experience.
Nothing really interesting to me there...I suspect Id like Joe Danger if I tried it but I have too many games and too little time to play them already. I'm only able to play Dragon Age: Inquisition for a few hours a day so I'll be busy with that until about March
Beautiful game that treads close to being the best argument for games being a valid art form rather than just entertainment. I'll gladly play it again on PS4.

Re: Journey PS4 Developer Nearing the Peak of Production Mountain
Beautiful game that treads close to being the best argument for games being a valid art form rather than just entertainment. I'll gladly play it again on PS4.
