PlayStation 3 Hardware

Sony’s pledged its ongoing support to the ageing PlayStation 3 by releasing a new firmware update for the machine. The operating system overhaul – dubbed v4.66 – is available now, and improves software stability. Well, you weren’t expecting anything especially interesting, were you?

It didn’t take us too long to download and install this update, but we must admit that we have been spoiled by the PlayStation 4’s excellent Rest Mode. Still, you’re going to need to grab this one if you want to connect to the PlayStation Network with your console, as it's mandatory we’re afraid. Time to blow off the ol' cobwebs, huh?
