People forget taste is subjective these days, sure BG3 is objectively the better game apparently, but to me it is still a load of crap. Given the choice I'd much rather play Stellar Blade then it and on my personal ratings scale I'd score it higher as well.
@RBRTMNZ Then I guess you also looked at the reviews that gave it zero's because they are complaining about censorship or the zero's from people who say the game is bad because it is sexualised.
@Kidfunkadelic83 "so what happens when you start getting story and gameplay elements censored for you?"
Sorry to be the one to tell you this but games have been getting censored since the 80's and there's lists of them online but a lot more get censored behind the scenes in order to get rated you just don't usually find out about them.
Censorship definitely sucks and deserves some pushback but it is also needed to a certain degree so no matter what it'll never stop, it will just continue behind the scenes as usual. The studios will just be more careful next time to make sure people don't find out about it.
@Jey887 Xbox smart delivery still sucks because they only put the Xbone version of the game on the disc even if you're buying it for the Series X, well that's if Xbox even bothered to try and put the game on the disc at all.
I guess we can take this as confirmation they'll bring more games over and Xbox consoles will somehow become even more irrelevant than they already are.
@Lup Don't worry people tried to crucify them for it but the fact that Elden Ring has more input delay means they didn't have a leg to stand on. It makes me wonder how many people here who are claiming to have an issue with it also love Elden Ring.
I'm also definitely against censorship as well but I'm not stupid enough to ignore the fact ratings boards exist. Porn is actually illegal in South Korea so it stands to reason that their ratings board are probably a little stricter about this sort of thing and the same goes for gore in Japan. Did people with short attention spans already forgot the EA guy complaining just the other day about Dead Space Remake being banned in Japan.
@TruestoryYep He's probably talking about that tweet that 2 feminists at the studio apparently got fired for trying to interfere with the game, which was never proven by the way and the tweet and the random account was conveniently deleted a couple of hours later. This was at a time when certain people were doing their best to try and make everyone turn against the game because of the character design, so make of that what you will, also he seems a bit annoyed by that 8/10 lol, I wonder why.
@Gamer83 Resident Evil is censored in Japan. When you shoot zombies in the head their heads never explode and in RE7 when Mia cuts his hand off with the chainsaw the screen fades to black and you don't actually see it.
@Balie3000 Yeah it was definitely the different levels of gore. There's a video on YouTube called Dead Space Remake 4 minutes of gore or something like that and it showcases all the MC's gory death animations.
That EA guy is just acting like a spoilt drama queen because he didn't get his way.
@DETfaninATL Yeah you're not wrong to see Bayonetta similarities because he actually said Nier Automata, Bayonetta and Sekiro were his inspirations for Stellar Blade.
I bought a physical copy of this for £1 from Cex years ago and gave up after an hour. I liked 3 and New Vegas at the time but honestly Bethesda games just bore me now.
@LikelySatan Yeah it is on the playstation blog now. They hired someone famous from Korean cinema to design the monsters for them out of clay and then scanned them in.
He's worked on some Korean movies like The Host. I've never seen it but I checked rotten tomatoes and it has a 93% score from critics.
That says peak daily active users not sales. Do people look at steam concurrent and say that's how many copies it sold? That's just the peak DAU it got. The sales will obviously be higher than that but how much higher is impossible to know unless square gives a number but after the way the journalist's reacted after squares ff16 comments I don't blame them for not saying anything.
@UltimateOtaku91 Yep I haven't paid £70 either. I pre-ordered physical copies of Rebirth for £56 Ronin for £59.99 and Spiderman 2 and Stellar Blade for £62.99
@LikelySatan It started before that, they were arguing on places like Twitter and Reddit at first. Ironically an Xbox fanboy seems to be the one who started it because he was unhappy about the hate Starfield got so he tried to get people to turn on Stellar Blade but it seems he may have actually helped sell the game instead of hindering it.
At the same time there was a lot of crude jokes that some people thought were distasteful so they began to respond to them by calling people incels, neckbeards and perverts etc and it just escalated. Clout chasing YouTubers fanned the flames then IGN, Kotaku etc got involved and here we are.
@LikelySatan It has definitely been blown out of proportion but it all started with some crude jokes that were then met with insults like what you're spouting and it just escalated from there so honestly from that comment you seem to be part of the problem.
@NEStalgia Maybe you should give the demo a try. The combat is actually a mix of HacknSlash and a Souls, well that's even if you consider Sekiro a Souls in the first place but anyway as a result of the mix it is much easier than a souls but much more challenging than the average HacknSlash.
@Vivisapprentice You forgot phantom blade zero. Apparently we're getting a demo later this year according to the latest trailer and the release is supposed to be 2024
I have no interest in Sea of Thieves and never did. Other ports are already in the works and I wouldn't be surprised if Xbox just said this as a clever marketing tactic to get more people to buy a copy.
@pirlega Nobody cares what you you do with your life savings, so just keep scrimping and saving and complaining on Push while the rest of us play the games we're interested in.
@pirlega just click on PS5 standard edition on the app on your phone and the demo pops up or just click on the circle with 3 dots icon (...) on the PSN store stellar blade page on your PS5 and the demo comes up as an option.
@tameshiyaku Exclusives do exactly what you described and it is better than competing on things like power because consoles prices would have spiraled out of control a long time ago and the same can be said for constant R&D in an attempt for non stop innovation, which is much more risky than the tried and trusted exclusive method.
I would never have bought immortals and was actually waiting for it to hit plus because to me it seems like the perfect game for it and Skul looks like a good 2d side scroller for old school and indie fans so I'll check that out as well. I have zero interest in anything Minecraft though.
@tameshiyaku There's a few reasons why exclusives are important but the most important I would say is that without them then console makers have less incentive to subsidize when they make a console, actually why even make a console at all, they may as well just make expensive PC's.
I feel like I want it and that's all that actually matters to me, also didn't Phil say Xbox will never be beaten on power again? The fact he'll be proven wrong again is just the cherry on top.
FC24 has just went on sale for £20 so no doubt that played a part but the new games definitely seem to be underperforming, at least physically. I don't think Dogma was ever as big an IP as people made it out to be, then you've got the fact Ronin's graphics aren't appealing to the ooh! Shiny crowd. The same with Peach, it probably appeals more to young girls and women but like a lot of Nintendo games it'll probably still have some legs and hang around a lot longer than the other two.
I'm sure there's plenty of people who just drop a game for being too difficult instead of looking for guides so I think this is a good idea because it provides a level of convenience.
These developers are contradicting themselves. If there's more juice to be squeezed then why aren't they squeezing? This just makes them sound incompetent and lazy.
I think some developers have already hit their limits on what they are capable of on the PS5 but budgets and deadlines also play a big part on the level of polish they can do. The real complaint they've got here is they obviously don't want to do any extra work because they believe they'll just mainly be selling to the same people and if there's not much extra cash on the table for them then they don't want to do any extra work.
Sony has apparently made the Pro's extra power as easy to utilise as possible and if I'm remembering correctly we also had similar complaints about PS4 Pro from anonymous Devs. I don't care what anyone says though, I'm buying the Pro because these same developers who are complaining will continue to put out games that have lower internal resolutions and unstable framerates.
Kotaku just copied Bloomberg then added the "it may get delayed to 2026" but it is pure speculation, they have no source. Well that's according to Tom Henderson anyway.
I'm glad I decided to skip this at the last minute. Not only does it run poorly but it has microtransactions that they hid from reviewers. They want you to pay to change your characters appearance and they are also trying to sell fast travel items for real cash.
I definitely won't be supporting it that's for sure and Capcom is probably going to lose a lot of goodwill over it, at least I hope they do so they change course quickly.
@RoomWithaMoose Yeah they could help ground the setting without being playable though. When people buy superhero games they want to play as the superhero, it's one of the reasons people complained about Mary Jane. I personally have no problem with it as long as it is done well.
CGI trailers don't mean much, gameplay is what counts. I also don't see much point in the 2 randoms you get to play as, maybe they are from the comics but 99% of people will never of heard of them, hopefully they add some decent variety to the gameplay at least.
@Sakai @Professor_Niggle There's 2358 games on PS5 not including the back compatible games and only about 7 games run at 30fps. We also have no idea which ones are CPU heavy and which ones are GPU bound or which ones are just down to bad optimisation and lazy devs, so as long as PSSR is a good upscaler then it should be able to improve every game that already has a 60fps performance mode and every game that gets one, also every GPU bound game can obviously be improved as well.
The 7 Games are -
Marquette - which is also on the Switch so probably should already be 60fps.
Cartel Tycoon - which looks like a mobile game to me.
The Quarry - Interactive Horror game. Probably benefits from being more cinematic anyway.
Gotham Knights - I've never played it but I've heard there's no reason for it to be 30fps other than incompetence.
The Medium - Port of an Xbox game, apparently this is 30fps because it renders 2 worlds at once, at least that's what an Xbox fan told me.
Pacific Drive - Unlocked 30fps but I can't see any reason why it doesn't have a performance mode either.
Dragons Dogma 2 - Unlocked 30fps and the only game on here that most people will care about.
If there's any more I'm not aware of then tell me and I'll add them.
Magg from Colt Eastwood's channel is claiming that his source at EA/Respawn told him that they tested PSSR on Jedi Survivor on the Pro devkit and they got a locked 120fps at 4k.
Not sure why an Xbox YouTuber would lie about that but It still sounds a bit too good to be true to me. I guess we'll see though.
@AverageGamer Yeah I'm sure it takes the same length of time to make a AAA game now as it did then but anyway, why don't you go and ask someone at insomniac or Sony why they couldn't do both because you're boring me.

Re: Fallout 4 (PS5) - Timeless Gameplay Loop Stuck in an Outdated RPG
Personally I would give this game a 6/10 and the same goes for the TV show which I finished watching last night.
The last episode was also pretty bad and made me regret even watching it in the first place.

@boostsensei It is a choice, one that fromsoftware makes all the time. For example Elden Ring has more input delay than Stellar Blade.
