Re: Ghost of Yotei Goes Above and Beyond with New Director Modes, Even Has Lo-Fi Beats

MichaelNau

@AccessibleDaydream
I played Kurasawa mode for immersion and here is my experience:

1) I played Ghost Of T pretty late in its life cycle and, although it was a beautiful game on release, it showed its age when I booted it. The Black and White helped hiding what could have looked dated (realism doesn't age well in video games).

2) However, anything related to finding a coloured item was a bore.

3) Not linked to black and white mode but, I guess it's part of the same experience, I think Ghost of T is lipsynched to English and not Japanese and, depending on your eye for details, this could bother you.

All in all, IMHO, this mode helped me getting in and probably made me play the game longer than I would have otherwise.
However, if I ever intend to play Yotei, I'll probably keep the colours on since the game will be pretty new and certainly display some of the most outstanding graphics available.
Maybe... if there is like an intense emotional duel and I need to get "in the mood" you know? For drama

Re: Street Fighter 6 Swimsuit Outfits Incoming, Sagat Arrives 5th August

MichaelNau

I am a bit tired of having to watch more feet on display...but I guess they know their audience xD
Aki, Manon and Jamie look particularly on brand though IMHO

Sagat looked great in the trailer though

Not a fan of johnny World tour trailer usually but I really liked the idea of the menacing tiger aura, very shonen, and the giant sized feeling from the camera angles and all.

Re: PS Plus Essential Games for July 2025 Announced

MichaelNau

Nice!
I have KOF XV but a friend of mine living in Canada confused the region when he bought Diablo IV expension, so he gave me the code for free... I just needed to core game to try it
Jusant is intriguing, heard many good thing about it.

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate State of Play for June 2025?

MichaelNau

Won't pretend I cared for every games but there definitely was some Holy Sh*t moments!

IMHO, that last Marvel Fighting game from ARCSYS was over 9000!

Also, Romeo Is A Dead Man kind of rocked and we got to see Pragmata's gameplay as well as FF Tactics remaster (which really looked like the bare minimum of effort though... but I might be wrong).

So, yeah, over all, I voted Excellent ^^

Re: These 16+ New PS5, PS4 Games Are Coming Out Next Week (12th-18th May)

@R-Soub
Capcom VS Sn1 (CVS1) had a fixed ratio system.
Meaning, characters were noted from 1 to 4 (if I remember correctly) and you had to select a team of fighters with a sum of 4. So, you could have a team of 1,1,2 or 3,1 or even just one 4 guy.
Obviously, the higher the ratio, the stronger the character was supposed to be.

CVS2 let you apply ratio yourself, so it's more fluid and, most importantly, CVS2 introduced 6 "grooves", which are 6 different style of playing every characters.
3 from Capcom games, 3 from SNK games.

Other than that, you find the standard changes when comparing a first iteration of a game to its sequel.

Snk VS Capcom is fighting made by SNK, while the CVS1&2 were made by Capcom.
Different roster, artstyle and mechanics.
This game isn't on the capcom collection but can be found and bought separately on playstation systems.

Hope it helped.

Re: Expedition 33 Is Increasing in Popularity with Each Successive Week

@Odium
In all those games, I feel like, whatever their genre, music is treated less as a background sound going with the flow and more like a force trying to interact with you, proudly saying "hear me out, there is something you need to feel/understand about this moment/adventure".
It's like a core part and transmission vector of the experience IMHO.

Re: Sea of Stars: Throes of the Watchmaker Adds 8 Hours of Free DLC in May on PS5, PS4

MichaelNau

Loved this game.
Perfect example of a game that looked and felt exactly like I remembered the 16 era RPGs and not how they really were.
Not that they were bad, but they never looked that good.

Also, on normal difficulty, it was reasonably easy and somehow helped enjnoying this nice story and those wonderful characters.
really felt like Sabotage wanted you to enjoy the tour and the trip down everything they loved with them.

So, definitely on my to-do list!
Then, hopefully, I'll finish it right in time for Chained Echoes's DLC too.

Happy gaming everyone.

Re: PS5 RPG Expedition 33 Has Some of the Highest User Ratings Ever

MichaelNau

Playing it and there is a lot to love with interesting system mechanics.
Nothing ground breaking imho but fresh and well enough done to keep one entertained.
Also, very nice artistic direction even if limitations show, it is a very well crafted game I think, one that often has me stopping to look at the scenery and how the level design seemed to have been implemented with a lack of mini map in mind.
I might be wrong but it does seem made in a way so you can always figure out your direction and which way you come from.
Coming from a guy who really really really easy gets Lost in vidéo game and irl.

Re: 60+ PS5, PS4 Games to Buy in PS Store's Big Games, Big Deals Sale

MichaelNau

@naruball
It is.
Though the story is completely différent, I found it comparable to firewatch or oxenfree in quality.

But, I totally relate about first person.
I usually stay clear from them and very rarely enjoy FPS.

On the sales topic, I also noticed a Citizen Sleeper bundle... One of the best experience I had, period.

Re: Switch 2 Coughs Up for Timed Hades 2 Console Exclusivity, Coming to PS5 Later

MichaelNau

@mlm043 I feel you. I love their games too.
Transistor was the game that made me buy a PS4 when I was hesitating with an Xbox and I loved every second of it (and it was the month this game came free on PS+).
Because I have the best friends in the world, I'm also a proud owner of the Limited Run collector's edition ^__^
Hades was a thing of beauty and, even though I'm a bit concerned they are going for a "sequel" inistead of a new original game, I can't wait to play it, I trust those people 100%.

Honestly, I'm hesitating buying a Switch 2 just to play Hades 2 on time. I missed the Switch one entirely and I believe there are some games I'd really like to try (Triangle Strategy, I'm looking at you)
