Publisher Devolver Digital and developer Heart Machine have announced a release date for Possessor(s), a slick-looking 2D action game.
From the team behind Hyper Light Drifter and Solar Ash, this brand new title arrives on PS5 11th November 2025:
This new trailer reveals the date, and it also gives us a quick overview of what to expect from the game.
You play as a high school student who merges with a mysterious demon in order to survive a disaster. From that point on, you explore the dystopian city you call home and engage in snappy combat.

The combat has been inspired by Super Smash Bros., with directional inputs leading to simple combos and the ability to juggle enemies into submission.
On top of that, you'll make use of numerous improvised weapons, including but not limited to a computer mouse, hockey stick, and electric guitar.
It also sounds a little like a Metroidvania; you'll unlock new powers as you progress, and these will allow you to discover new areas. These abilities include a sort of grapple hook, a downward strike, a wall run, and more.
The core of the game's story is the relationship between Luca, who you play as, and Rhem, the demon possessing her. However, you'll meet all kinds of other characters, including many demons possessing household objects.
It looks pretty cool, doesn't it? Here's hoping it can deliver when it arrives in November.

I've had my eye on this and it's releasing sooner than I expected. Hopefully heart machine stick the landing!
Looks nice. I need to play the last dozen "search adventure" games I bought. I really like that term.
Don't know why but it's giving supergiants vibes aesthetically.
I mean it as the highest compliment.
Thought this was going to be about Hyper Light Breaker, but I guess that’s still in development
Totally forgot about this one being a thing. Not sure if I’ll have space in my schedule for it this year (because September and October were thick), but I have a soft spot for Hyper Light Drifter, so maybe I’ll make room.
@ButterySmooth30FPS I had no idea this one was in development as well. Finally something to look forward to!
