Re: First Impressions: Squeezing the Cheeks of LittleBigPlanet 3 on PS4

@get2sammyb

Thanks for listening to the feedback. I really like this site, but that's my one pet peeve here. The PS3 is still alive and well & in far more homes than the PS4. Sure, the PS4 is (and should be) the #1 focus, but let's not forget about the console that "paid the bills" for many years, even with all it's warts.

Re: Round Up: Alien: Isolation PS4 Reviews Hold Their Breath

@Johnnycide

Yea the IGN review is f#%king retarded. He even says that he played the game on "hard", died a lot, & didn't like the experience. He then says that he recommends NOT doing the same. But then he bases his review score off of that?!!

How about you go back & replay the game on normal & then review it? Nobody forced him to play on hard. What a lazy pr*ck. That score is bringing the whole Metacritic score down under 80+.

Re: Reaction: EGX London Hammers Another Nail in PS Vita's Coffin

KelticDevil

The Vita is dead. Deceased. Buried. Done.

I live how this site acts like the PS3 doesn't even exist anymore (except when writing ridiculous articles complaining about download times & patch installs), even though it's still getting great retail games.

But heaven forbid if we go 2 days without some article about how the Vita isn't getting any love. Lol. If Sony doesn't care about the Vita, then why should we? It's a shame bc the handheld will go down having so much untapped potential. We get it.

So why not have one of the reviewers at this site tell us whether the PS3 version of Destiny or Alien Isolation is any good? Ya know that other Sony console that millions & millions of people still actually use.

Re: First Impressions: Squeezing the Cheeks of LittleBigPlanet 3 on PS4

KelticDevil

@rjejr

If it isn't clear yet, then let me just say it......this website is acting like the PS3 is dead (which is ironic, bc they refuse to put the Vita to rest, even though that's been deceased far longer than the PS3 has). So any cross platform game (PS3 & PS4) is only getting PS4 attention, which is ridiculous. I am very interested in the PS3 version of LBP3 bc Sony has yet to prove to me that I should shell out $400 for a new console.

Some of these cross platform games (PS3 versions) are going to still be good on PS3 bc they were designed there first & then "upgraded" for the PS4. Some are just dumbed down versions, developed by a different company entirely, just to milk the PS3 install base. Ya just have to be able to decipher between the two.

For example......,Destiny - safe to get on PS3. Alien: Isolation - also supposedly safe. Middle Earth: Shadow Of Mordor - PS3 version isn't even made by Monolith, so who knows? Etc, etc. A little research goes a long way.

With all that said, LBP3 would probably be safe to get on the PS3.

@LDXD

No, you are not the only "fool" thinking this way. I am also thinking about this for PS3.

And hard drive space is a legit concern. Why the PS4 was only released with a 500 GB hard drive, I don't know. It's actually one of the reasons I am holding off on buying a PS4. They will release a cheaper PS4 with a bigger hard drive in due time. Plus by that time, there will be PS4 exclusives that will be worth upgrading for.

Re: Sony Drives Down the Price of DriveClub's Full Game Upgrade

KelticDevil

@Shellybird27

Indie games are not "usually" better at all. In fact, most indie games that come out are either crap or can't hold a candle to bigger retail releases. Sure, there exceptions of course.

Also, they are NOT more innovative. I could go into why or list countless examples, but this topic has been flogged to death on this site, so I will refrain.

Either way, 'grenworthshero' is entitled to his opinion & I can't blame him for being frustrated.

However, expecting to get great retail games on PS4 PS+, at this time, is unrealistic to a certain extent. There aren't many great retail PS4 games yet, so they aren't going to show up on PS+. Hence all the indie junk every month.

Re: Soapbox: Please Protect Me from the Purgatory of the PS3

KelticDevil

@Chouzetsu

Yea when "next gen" arrives, let me know. Because the PS4 doesn't have ONE game to justify a $400 purchase. Oh and I would have to pay to play games online to boot.

It's real simple......when the PS4 gets some great games that I can't play on my PS3, that's when Sony will get my $. Until then, I will continue to get great games for cheap (btw, buying games on disc would eliminate half the reason for this article to exist & be cheaper, as well) & enjoy my PS3.

Re: Soapbox: Please Protect Me from the Purgatory of the PS3

KelticDevil

Is this really an entire article b*tching about the dowloading of a video game on the PS3?!! Sorry Sammy, but this was the worst thing I have ever read here.

Set aside the fact that complaining about this is the equivalent of beating a dead horse, but are these problems article worthy? Hell no. Not to mention that your download times are ridiculously skewed. Where do you live? Siberia?

Why not write an article about how you spent $400 on a system & are even on your PS3 playing games to begin with, bc your new system is lacking good games to play?

Why not write an article about how the top FIVE Metacritic rated, yes FIVE, PS4 games are PORTS of 'last' gen games? Including four that were PS3 games. That is pathetic.

I would much rather stare at the occasional update/patch progress bar then stare at a console (PS4) sitting there collecting dust bc there isn't anything to play on it.

Now excuse me while I go listen to some MUSIC (yea remember that option?) & stare at all my choices of great PS3 games to play.

Re: TGS 2014: P.T. Trailer Will Make You Run for the Silent Hills

KelticDevil

This better be good. I love the MGS series (I am replayinh them all in order right now), but Kojima can go off the rails sometimes, in terms of story. Hopefully this is more 'Snake Eater' than 'Sons Of Liberty', if ya catch my drift?

Plus, the Silent Hill series has been in decline for years so hopefully this will save this series. Survival horror is back.......hopefully.

Re: Talking Point: Is Japan Finally Back in the Game?

KelticDevil

Being a gamer since the 80's, it's been shocking to see the decline in quality coming out of Japan. It used to be ALL big games came from over seas.

Nice to see that at least some games are going to be noteworthy. I think the gaming industry would improve if Japan helped fill our collections along with the usual american & european companies.

Re: Review: Destiny (PlayStation 4)

KelticDevil

This is exactly what I predicted the game to get: a 7 or an 8. Metacritic has it at a 75. It sounds like a game that is still very good, but just not the genre changing experience people were expecting. While that's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just that the things peope DON'T like about it, (lame story, repetitive) are the things that I was hoping it would do well to stand out from the usual multiplayer FPS crowd.

I was hoping for a game that told an epic story while also delivering great multiplayer. Bungie has shown in the past that they are capable of doing so with Halo. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like Bungie has pulled off that feat......yet.

What I & other people, should keep in mind, however, is as much as they don't want to call this an MMO, that is really what it sounds like it is. And MMO's evolve over time & maybe Bungie has some plans to improve the things that some people are complaining about. Or maybe they don't, who knows?

In the end, like it or not, "hype" can be a damaging thing. With the pedigree of Bungie & a massive marketing budget behind Destiny, people are going to expect greatness or near perfection. That can, ultimately, lead to disappointment. But a 7-8 is still a very good score. At least it didn't completely bomb, & it does have a lot of room for growth.

Re: Here's a Really Bad Resident Evil: Revelations 2 Trailer

KelticDevil

They better not screw this game up.....

Resident Evil is really starting irritate me. Capcom is destroying (or has destroyed) one of the best franchises in gaming. And the REALLY irritating thing is, it's bc of completely ridiculous design decisions that leave me shocked as to how anyone at Capcom even have jobs at this point.

I am just waiting to replay the Resident Evil remake (awesome game, btw), then this series can go f@#% itself.

.......(steps down from soap box). Lol.

Re: Sony: PS Vita's Remarkably Resilient, and Won't Fade Away

KelticDevil

@get2sammyb

When you can get Rogue Legacy or Counterspy, for example, for your PS3/PS4, why would you buy them for Vita?

When a company creates a handheld, then openly says it won't make any more big retail games for said handheld bc of low sales (even though it's that company's fault it isn't selling well bc of mind blowingly stupid decisions), then that handheld is.....dead.

Just my opinion. It is a shame, bc the Vita is an amazing piece of hardware & had so much potential.

Re: Round Up: Destiny PS4 Reviews Shoot for the Moon

KelticDevil

@Demi_God

Fair points. Although, I never said you shouldn't be able to criticize a review that you disagree with. Hell, I do that all the time myself.

What I was saying is that you shouldn't criticize the reviewer's right to express that opinion whether you think he/she is qualified to review that game or not. That person is just doing their job.

Btw, I a HUGE fan of sci-fi shooters (sci-fi anything, really) & am on the fence about getting this game, so I am like a sponge right now.......soaking up all the info I can about it to make a decision. I will definitely take your opinion, on how the game turned out, into account.

Re: Wait, Resident Evil: Revelations 2 Is an Episodic PS4 Game?

KelticDevil

I swear, Capcom can't get out of their own way about anything related to this series. What is the point of releasing this in an episodic format? Why is the retail version $15 more?! Why does Claire look like Toby Maguire?!! Why did RE6 suck so mu......Oh wait, wrong topic.

I have been a loyal supporter & apologist of this series since day 1, but Capcom's mind numbing decision making regarding this franchise just continues to blow my mind.

Re: Round Up: Destiny PS4 Reviews Shoot for the Moon

KelticDevil

This game has a 7 or 8 written all over it. Reviews will say the game looks great & is fun to play, but the story sucks & it's repetitive.

Overall, it really sounds like a game that if you are like me & want a story & more of a solo experience, then avoid this game. If you want a grind like experience to get some cool loot (like a FPS Phantasy Star Online), then give it a shot.

We'll see as more reviews come out, but I probably won't be picking this up.

Re: Feature: Man on the Moon - Our Early Intergalactic Impressions of Destiny on PS4

KelticDevil

@WARDIE

And Activision is, arguably, the worst publisher at "whoring" anything they can to make more $. They single handedly killed off the music game genre by releasing countless expansions, DLC, & controllers & overcharged for all of it. And we've all seen what they have done to the once great, 'Call Of Duty' series. Absolutely ran it into the ground & ruined 'Infinity Ward' in the process.

Hopefully they don't do the same with Bungie.
