Resident Evil: Revelations 2, the episodic sequel to Capcom’s former Nintendo 3DS exclusive, doesn’t exactly look the part on the PlayStation 4, but there may be a reason for that: speculation suggests that a PlayStation Vita version is also in the works. The title was spotted under the handheld section of Sony’s promotional Tokyo Game Show website, but the link has since been removed.
When it was announced earlier in the month, the publisher committed to two PlayStation platforms: the PS3 and the PS4. It’s unclear, then, why it would wait until this week’s big show in order to unveil a portable version. Should the rumours be accurate, though, it would be significant, as its predecessor famously skipped Sony’s system in favour of the Nintendo 3DS.
At this stage, we’re still a little worried about the state of the game, but it would be nice to see a big publisher pledge support towards the Japanese giant’s flagging handheld – even if Claire Redfield’s latest jaunt ends up an overall disappointment. If done right this would be a boon for the vita. The resident evil franchise has plummeted from its spot as top dog. I would love to try a new Resi on my Vita.
Why not both? Kinda burns that I supported them and now they're supporting all but even the new 3DS. I'll still buy it however, and one handheld iteration is better than none. Crudely makes up for the first one skipping Vita.
I don't believe it will go to vita looking no re rev1 there... But surprise is welcome
No thanks, I'd rather a second rate res evil 7
Wow, this makes skipping the 3DS seem even more dumb than it already was.
PLEASE DONT GET ME HYPED!!
This would actually be smart for everyone involved if this is true. This is clearly a game being built for PS3 while being 'upgraded' to PS4 for sales, so it may work perfect for the Vita.
I hope this is legit!
@Gamer83 Exactly. Capcom must be smoking those green herbs. Get it?
@Vincent294
LOL
I think the Vita can do it, given what the first game pulled off in the tightly constrained 3DS.
I will probably just get it on ps4 then if I want to play it on the vita I can use remote play
Hope this is true. I'll grab it on Vita if it is (and if it's good of course!)
Revenge and 3DS doomed
Actually i think its a mistake since it names every console except PC and in the teaser it says every console plus PC and no VITA
EDIT: Yep, they fixed it
Would have been a bizarre choice considering the 3DS version had the most sales but seeing as I have a Vita I'd have been cool with it.
PS Vita owners got Square Enixed, 3DS owners got Capcomed!
I liked the first Revelations, so if Capcom just build upon that, I'm glad!
The parts with Jill was really good! Also the Raid Mode with a friend was awesome and long lasting!
I think I will be getting it for PS3 and Vita!
I think it might be like the FF Type-0 HD gaffe.
@Heavyman99 it's exactly like that, except this time there is no typo.
@Punished_Boss We will see if they will announce it during the showfloor.
