Re: Soapbox: Why Do You Replay Games?

GhostInAJar

It completely depends on the game, the first time I played the last of us was the only time until I finished TLOU2, the story was so good in the first one I just didn’t feel like I ever had to do it again. The sequel gave me the bug for it and I went back to play the original, and it was amazing to go back through the lens of someone who has grown 7 years.

Something like Skyrim or fallout 3 though, the general paths are the same but I’ve been back to those games so many times and every time I’ve gone back it’s felt new because you can choose so many different ways to play.

Re: Poll: Which Bethesda Franchise Will PS5 Miss the Most?

GhostInAJar

Not one developer has ever held my attention, or in fact the entire gaming community’s attention like Bethesda have. Not even GTA can retain players without an online component, and you have single player games in Fallout 3 & Skyrim still being played to death after a decade. That’s a big deal if they’re not on PlayStation and it is the sole reason why I knew I had to have a series x, many others will do the same. Absolute power move by Microsoft to be honest.

Re: Microsoft's Bethesda Bid One Step Closer to Completion as European Union Approves Acquisition

GhostInAJar

@Acid_Renzi Why would I come here to brag on a corporation’s behalf? I don’t care either way who has what, I’ve got all three consoles, makes no difference to me. When I see sad actual adults talking absolute bollocks about how they feel about the Bethesda thing it’s just embarrassing, it would be completely different in this comment section if the buy out was Sony’s. You’d be shouting about how great Rage was and all sorts.

Re: Microsoft's Bethesda Bid One Step Closer to Completion as European Union Approves Acquisition

GhostInAJar

Oh wait how could I be so stupid, I’ve been reading the comments thinking “are these people on crack?” Then remembered it’s a PlayStation site and it’s full of people who are absolutely livid they’re having Elder Scrolls taken away from them, just a collection of “they’ll never put them all on gamepass, what about the money” yes they will, the Microsoft strategy is clearly subscriptions, the execs will have green lit the deal on that basis.

The other absolutely ridiculous trend is apparently all of a sudden nobody EVER liked Bethesda, quite extraordinary when you consider the plethora of devs under their umbrella and the diversity of titles...and people don’t like a single one! Fascinating. I wonder if they’d be saying that if Sony bought the company.

Re: Talking Point: What Are Your Expectations for PSVR 2 on PS5?

GhostInAJar

Nobody has mentioned the most important thing from what I can see, and that is better games, sure there were a handful of excellent hits but nowhere near enough to justify an extra £250.

If Sony want a killer app then they need to make it capable of running half life alyx, I think that would not only get people to buy a VR but it would show just what VR can be, and will open it up to more devs giving it a try.

Re: Why GTA 5 on PS5 Will Be More Than Just a 'Simple Port'

GhostInAJar

@Nightcrawler71 I really don’t think that’s the case, as far as I know one of many teams works on the online component. I think people forget this is a company that makes more money off one game in a day than others can only dream of, they can easily handled GTA6 alongside other projects.

Re: Sony to Unlock PS5 Storage Extension This Summer

GhostInAJar

Is it just me or is the space on the PS5 SSD absolutely fine? I thought I’d have to micro manage but I’ve got No Mans Sky, RDR2, p5 royal, overcooked all you can eat, MH world, crash trilogy, god of war, resogun, and the uncharted trilogy...still got like 190GB spare! Maybe I should be glad I don’t play call of duty!

Re: Housemarque on Returnal's Price: We're Doing Our Half of the Value Proposition

GhostInAJar

I’ve played every housemarque game, resogun has been played since it released and is now installed on the PS5. If they say they’re delivering a £70 game, then I 100% trust them. The game looks very different yet is so obviously housemarque, I can’t wait but I agree with others.., it'll plummet in price in no time so I don’t think there’s a need to rush in.

Re: Poll: Do You Have a PS5?

GhostInAJar

Haven’t got one and have now given up even bothering to look, luckily I have plenty to still get through on the old gen and there’s no system seller on either next gen console yet. It’s disappointing but I don’t really feel like I’ve missed out on anything yet...the controller is the most intriguing thing for me.

Re: New Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Game Reportedly Real

GhostInAJar

I don’t see how the dev can be all that surprising at all to be honest, surely there isn’t a licence as expensive as Star Wars? Not sure how all that works but I’d say the fact that EA, now Ubisoft are the two main users of the license for games so far then I’d make an educated guess any publisher needs to be a power house.

Re: PS Plus January 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced

GhostInAJar

This is great, I’ve just bought and finished the first tomb raider for £2.39, had rise sat waiting for me from previous ps plus, and the day after I was eyeing up shadow on sale it goes free. Buzzing! The new tomb raider games are superb.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 (PS4) - The Potential of a Masterpiece, Totally and Utterly Unrealised

GhostInAJar

I deliberately avoided this on PS4 and got it on the one x, so far I’ve seen a main character flapping about in mid air after a big moment just before titles, I’ve been stuck going in a loop in a helicopter firing aimlessly at corpses with the objective to kill them all still hovering, and let’s be clear the bugs are not the only problem. Vehicle controls are terrible, the button configuration is so badly thought out I’m constantly doing the wrong thing, particularly in menus which are also clearly just a copy paste from PC with absolutely nothing done to adjust to those using a controller.

The shooting has been fun but even combat is annoying because at times you can just stand and shoot your enemies while they spin around aiming at the sky.

They have annihilated their reputation and they won’t ever have hype on this scale again, they made one good game...arguably two if you include Witcher 2. No third time lucky here.
