Personally I think FF has taken way too long to mature, series long fans are in their 30’s & 40’s now, I have found I have to play these games through gritted teeth in more recent years because they’re pretty cringe. I’m looking forward to a more brutal, grown up, Witcher style FF.

@hi_drnick That attitude is exactly why they are being so closed off and still taking in all the money, same reason DLC stayed forever and companies still shamelessly sell MTX products. Blind faith from consumers does not breed consumer friendly business practices, I absolutely worship PlayStation and the brand as a whole but for the first time I’m massively hesitant, and we should all be a little bit more critical of their behaviour for the way they’ve handled PS5.

Yeah come on they do not need this software on PS5, for the first time ever IGN’s little console war flaming polls have had massive shifts in the “I choose Xbox” votes since. Everyone says “oh how will they make their money back”, I’ll tell you how...you will see a massive shift in the console market to Xbox purchases, even those alongside PS5’s, and you will also see a huge boost to gamepass subscriptions on Xbox as well as PC, and then of course we’ll see how people like xcloud further down the line.

Don’t underestimate how many people still love Bethesda RPG’s, and that’s just a portion of the library!

I’ll believe it when I see it, how long have we been hearing similar about silent hill? Konami and Kojima hate each other and the former have only ever shown how much of a terrible company they are, I can definitely seeing them giving a big ***** you to Kojima and anything he’s associated with out of spite.

@vindicus1982 I’ve yet to see anything that even remotely suggests CDPR are the kind of company to deal in cop outs. You’re in the minority if you smashed that game in a week, did you even sleep? Haha

@nessisonett Same here, I’d finished off all the main game and hearts of stone and despite blood & wine being absolutely beautiful and intriguing I just couldn’t go on any longer.

@phil_j For me gamepass has been a cheap gateway in to many third party titles I wouldn’t otherwise pick up than it has been for exclusives, I had PSNow for a little bit but was often underwhelmed by the choice of third party games and the first party stuff arrives quite a while after I’ve finished them anyway.

The absolute killer though is the backwards compatibility, you can’t stream red dead 1 via PSNow because the latency is shocking, but you can fully install it on a One X with full enhancements that are at remaster levels.

Well let’s take a barometer of the massive feel good factor Microsoft produced with their recent announcements and then look at this embarrassing display of self indulgence shall we?

It’s the same cycle of one company being ahead and thinking they can stay there by doing more of the same, the ps plus collection is a pathetic answer to gamepass, how they haven’t come up with some sort of reboot for PSnow/plus is beyond me and shows how arrogant they are and ignorant to the fact that the landscape is changing.

Never in a million years did I think I’d be leaning towards Xbox but everything they’ve done to improve their services, and increase their portfolio of exclusive devs is impossible to ignore.

@Flyin45s You should also consider the pressure from the publisher though, they are generally the driving force behind these approaches.
