It’s a bit easy but the challenge of DS1 has been replaced with a seriously addictive “just one more delivery” gameplay loop. Not sure it warrants a 10 though.
It would be great for a publication like this to shine a spotlight on the virtual photography community, it’s a fantastic corner of gaming on twitter and instagram
Selling well doesn’t prove it is a good product, it’s still an absolute scam in my eyes considering you could do more by attaching your phone to a clip-on control pad.
@Northern_munkey there are hundreds of devs taking risks and being creative, just none of the big names because of how corporate look at it. If you want creativity get in to more indies, the big publishers are becoming copy paste merchants.
@Ravix it actually made 800m in its first day, with the final 200m only taking 48 hours after that. Still makes a fortune to this day through game sales alone, crazy behemoth of a series.
Ok now I’m 100% in on this game, this feels like the remake of FF7 I expected. Travelling around the overworld was such a cool experience way back in the PS1 days, can’t imagine how much there will be to discover!
@KaijuKaiser The original is a massively different game to RDR2, assuming that’s what you’re referring to. I can definitely see how the sequel would be boring to someone but the OG is outstanding
Man I don’t know about this whole FF7 remake lark, the first part was lots of filler and a complete ruination of the original story and now it looks like they’re doing something similar with Tifa.
The way they handled this whole messing with fate and time did not land for me at all, looks like they’re going to double down.
On a positive note though, the famous locations look absolutely awesome. Juno in particular!
@MattBoothDev there is a massive community of virtual photographers, it’s become it’s own art form now. Get some beautiful images out of that community.
If it’s happening then I can assure everybody that nobody heard a rumour about it beyond what’s already been getting made up by everyone else. Buy outs don’t get beyond a board room full of professionals who know the importance of keeping their mouth shut.
For all the criticism about TLOU remake being a cash grab I find it odd that more people aren’t critical of what is quite clearly the biggest cash grab in gaming since the GTA shark card. Absolutely no reason to be more than one game, part 1 was full to the brim of nonsense filler.
How do these keep getting green lit? I love the idea of them but the reality is always a really painful slog of an RPG, there hasn’t been a good one since the early days. Presume they do well in Japan?
As a gamepass veteran I have to say although the bringing together of the services is long overdue, it’s absolutely fantastic and with the exclusives that are available as well as a seriously strong third party library that appeals to us PS fans…it’s arguably better than game pass already. Sony don’t need to do day one exclusives, they’ve got such a ridiculous first party library that the quality speaks for itself. Take demons souls for example, a game that has always intrigued me but never enough for me to commit to buy, in comes ps plus. Same for AC Valhalla when we talk about third party.
@AdamNovice I can’t think of a single time where a game has gone off GP and I wasn’t done with it. I find the whole obsession with ownership weird, but each to their own.
I only realised what this was yesterday when I saw a few screenshots, a cyberpunk CRPG that isn’t torturous and has Xcom style battles sounds absolutely up my street. I do think I’ll go with the PC version based on some of the things mentioned in this review though.
@strawhatcrew do you know what’s really not difficult? Having your eco system connected and seamless, like the Xbox. Defending this ***** from Sony is why they keep taking the piss mate.
@Daveuppercut 😂 mate there’s more to games than a score out of 10, and this isn’t the only website to give a score out of 10. Some gave it 9, some 10, some even 7! Read them, watch them, find some other way of measuring quality otherwise you’ll end up playing very little.
The amount of people refusing to pay full price when it’s clearly a game that appeals to them is pretty annoying when you consider pretty much everyone was universal with the days gone thing that a quality product justifies it. How many people paid full whack for that utter crap and see this as a rip off? Absolute madness when you consider Housemarque’s pedigree.
It’s just going the way it does every new gen, one company gets cocky because they “won” last time, and the other has to up their game because they lost. All it really proves is how smart Nintendo are to completely remove themselves from the nonsense that is the console war.
The sole reason I bought a switch and didn’t regret a single minute of it, can’t wait to play again with achievements and tackle the stories for the heroes I didn’t meet on my first run.

Re: Valve's Steam Machine May Not Be As Affordable As a PS5
Valve literally don’t care about the console market, this is not who they’re aiming for and never will be.
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Death Stranding 2?
It’s a bit easy but the challenge of DS1 has been replaced with a seriously addictive “just one more delivery” gameplay loop. Not sure it warrants a 10 though.
Re: Just Like the Game, The Last of Us 2's TV Adaptation Is Getting Review Bombed
As much as I dislike the review bombing, we shouldn’t allow it to paper over the fact it’s just not very good at all.
Re: PS Store's AI Eslop Copies Rumoured Xbox Ports 'Illegally' Now
The wording of that headline gave me an aneurysm.
Re: Round Up: Civilization 7 Reviews Are Glowing Ahead of PS5 Launch
Civ games are always way better at least a year after release with an expansion and some updates.
Playing vanilla Civ 6 vs Gathering Storm is almost like playing two completely different Civ games

Re: Alan Wake 2 Yet to Recoup Dev, Marketing Expenses as Tencent Raises Stake
@PSme It will be the future once the weird obsession with bits of plastic dies, the sooner the physical edition weirdos give up the better
Re: $70 Games Are Just a Phase, Believes Saber Interactive CEO
Correct. It’ll increase

Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 (PS5) - This Could Be the Apex of RPG Adventuring
@rusty82 always amazes me when people drop in to an article, then go to the comments, just to say they’re not interested

Re: Poll: What Is Your PS5, PS4 Game of the Year 2023?
Sadly still haven’t played BG3 because I want to assign it the time it deserves, so Alan Wake 2 just pips RE4 for me this year.
What an absolutely incredible year though, and topped off with a GTA 6 trailer!
Re: GTA 6 Could Be Announced Later This Week for PS5
@Rioichi 😂😂 people not excited for GTA 6 is a good one
Re: Build Your Own PS5, PS4 Theme Park in RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures Deluxe Next Month
Yeah avoid this folks, it’s awful. Planet coaster is the way to go for console park building.

None are as exciting as his own new game, Haunted Chocolatier though.
Re: The Last of Us: Part I's Out of Stock PS5 Firefly Edition Fetching $450 on eBay

Re: Roblox PS5, PS4 Versions 'Make Perfect Sense', Says CEO
@Tharsman that’s because of some nonsense with Sony not liking changed assets, Roblox maps are no different to say custom made GTA online games.
Re: Roblox PS5, PS4 Versions 'Make Perfect Sense', Says CEO
That’s the entire team at pushsquare confirmed to not have kids 😂
