Good on them, I've been buying PlayStation since I picked up a PS1 on launch day in HMV and have gone through every handheld, every console, and every peripheral. I even worked at Sony and was involved in the creation of the PSN network between the PS2 and PS3 generations. I have never missed a 1st party game or product release since then. Between PS3, PSP, PS4, Vita and PS5 I have a digital collection in the thousands.

But this generation has shown me that these games are no longer being developed by passionate gamers, they are being created by shareholders to appeal to the widest audience possible, so by trying to appeal to everyone they in my opinion are appealing to no one.

Spiderman 2 was the last PS5 game I'll be picking up and once my premium sub ends next august I will be relegating the PS5 and the PSVR2 to the cupboard, these games are clearly for a younger audience these days!

Cue the "you won't be missed messages" but I do wonder if I'm not alone in this, when you have people who have spend hundreds of thousands pounds on a brand walking away at some point it will make a dent.

Just finished Robocop last night, for anyone who just enjoys a fun game without a million markers on a map I cannot recommend this enough.

It was such a pallette cleanse from the beigefest lately.

@DennisReynolds It was the publishers that realeased Rambo, the devs did the Terminator game.

I picked it up on PC and it's a solid 8 for me, everything I'd want in a Robo game, only issue I have is Peter Weller is a bit too old for this now, but great they added him.

I just love that it is silly, it acknowledges its silly and it realises it's a videogame rather than some deadly serious thing that is going for a bafta.

It's just a really fun refreshing game, just wish we had more.

@theSpectre I know every game has bugs, but I've had more bugs in this than anything else I've picked up this year, and at least 5 hard resets. This needed another month in the oven.

I hope the clipping has improved, I've had a nightmare with it, and the crashing.

But what about the cuban flag suit I unlocked, seems a bit silly to have that?

I decided because it was less than £2.50 on steam to buy Freedom Fighters from 2003, and with controller support it's still massive fun, weekend sorted.

Haven't used my psvr 2 in months, this might give me an excuse to boot it back up with the missus, she loves synth riders, even more than Beat Saber which I have to disagree on!

The need to just release it and do a tax write off at this point. I can't believe anyone would be silly enough to buy it unless it was £2 in a sale.

I'm about 10 hours in and it really is just pretty DLC from first one to be honest, only the writing seems to be worse, the sidequests are really dull and I know some people say they haven't had any but I've had a massive amout of bugs, at least 5 or 6 hard resets and countless times where the last bad guy in a mission is hidden inside a wall or building, it's infuriating. Far too much bloat in this, without there is probably about 3 hours worth of decent content.

I keep dipping into Spiderman 2 but just got to another MJ mission so have put it down for now, can't decide if I want to switch to Alan Wake or MGS while I'm waiting for the early unlock on Robocop.

Paid for the top sub and had over a year, and haven't actually used it for anything, I'll be scrapping it come renewal time. My problem is that I purchased everything from PS1 right through to now, so none of this content is worthwhile to me.

Clipping is a massive issue for me at the minute, I have ended up stuck in allsorts, traversal has some weird jank sometimes when changing direction and the controls have a wobble, a few T poses where I look like Tom Cruise in mission impossible when trying to land on the ground. And as for the NPCs, they all seem to be a variation of black guy wearing different coloured headphones. I Must have rescued him 30 times so far, if I were him I would never leave the house.

Also I rescued him once and he had the same face but white and he had black hands, I have never seen mixed race look like that before.

@Korgon the problem I have is that I already own these games on many formats, and i can get them running at a higher resolution and frame rate than what they have managed. Anyone else can do the same with a very basic PC or laptop. They haven't done enough work to justify the purchase.

It's impressive they have managed to botch such a basic port.

Not sure if I would call it that yet, I've lost my eyeballs quite a few times so far on the side quests from rolling them too much up to now.

I'm definitely probably going to pass this time, I bought them all on NES, PS1 and PS2 and PC when they came out, I imported the complete collection on PS3 Japan and I bought the remasters on PS3 and Vita and even had some of my covers signed by Hideo in Leipzig back in 2005.

Probably going to pass, maybe.

@FuriousMachine The shooting is the most satisfying shooting in a game in years. It made me instantly preorder it.

Got it preordered on Steam, its £30 cheaper and I will get better graphics and frame rates to be fair.

@StrawberryTurtle He did not write that game, he was named in it but wasn't the main writer, that was Bruce Straley. Can't you tell simply by looking at the quality of writing between 1 and 2??

I have already finished te story mode and moved on to other games. Never get why people continue with fighting games once they have played through them, what are they expecting to change other than skins? You have seen all it has to offer, stop pouring money down the drain and move on to other games.

Druckman has finally got what he wanted then, he seems to have managed to run all the old school talent out the business so he can empire build.

I wish them well but I'm definitely noping out of ND games in the future.

FFXVI was my biggest disappointment this year so far, it just wasn't a FF game, graphics and fighting was great but it just didn't have what makes FF in it, it lacked a soul. And don't get me started on that ending.

Sorry but We Love Katamari has to take the top spot so far this year for me.

What amazes me more about this is the amount of people still playing FIFA, I haven't bought it since Fifa 96 on the SNES, i could tell back then they were robbing people with yearly iterations and 28 years later here we are.

I'll just stick to sensible soccer and renaming the teams with a keyboard.

It's story was about time travel and zombies and after reading it had far less plot holes than TLOU 2. For 99p, I would be all over that thing it looks funny as hell.

FES and portable features will be added to a Royal version. Atlus has stung me too many times over the years, I will be waiting a while before buying this one.

Stoll amazes me we stilll haven't got a version of Astrobot for PSVR 2. That game was one of the main reasons that kept me interested in VR, 1sp person stuff doesn't interest me that much.

An American Korean guy who also speaks Spanish doing an English voice for a Japanese character is hilarious to me.

I always fall in love with the look of these games, then they let us down with bad controls, I really hope they nail it.

I have FES in my phone and it runs perfectly with upscaled graphics, I don't see the point in downgrading ror shinier grqphics.

I got mine on launch and love that I no longer get motion sickness like I did with PSVR1 and some of the games are superb (Demio is a definite standout for me) bit but cannot believe we never got an Astro Bot game at launch, I genuinely thought that was a Mario beater and the future of platform games and we got nothing on it. It hasn't had a true killer app.

Just started playing when it unlocked and I'm really enjoying myself. Not sure if putting all the hipster woke characters in it was a good move though, it's hilarious to beat them up on the exploration bit, or was that intended?

@awp69 agreed, I only want to play it if it is the very beginning of the game and the same transfers over. I Remember spoiling the FFVIII dance with Rinoa by playing the demo that got included with the Platinum version of FFVII.

Good lord that looks garbage. I'm getting more and more worried about the future of games, developers seem to be filled with people that have zero creativity, or any clue what the word fun means.
