This was always going to be a pc purchase for me anyway, I've always bought Doom on PC.

4k 60fps here we come.

@DennisReynolds It makes the box irrelevant if you have nothing exclusive.

I can play all of those on my steam deck or PC, and it will run better. My PS5 has been the first PS console since 1995 that has gathered dust.

I'll be passing on this, the protagonist just doesn't interest me.

Replaying a 20 year old game is still not enough incentive to buy a Pro for me, the PS4 Pro was the last mid gen iteration I will buy, once bitten and all that.

It deserves everything it's getting, it's been the first game in years that felt like it was created by adults, with normal adult emotional ranges.

Beautifully written and scripted, the voice work was phenomenal and the ending(s) were perfect.

It was also the first game to put a lump in my throat since Aerith in 1997.

I still have the original Ocean Robocop poster on my wall, it came in the Amstrad box version.

I have a steam deck that does that...

...but it also plays stuff when I have no WiFi.

Does anyone remember "Greatest Hits" when publishers would re-release games, but they would get CHEAPER?

Saw the word "puzzle" got excited, then saw "roguelike" and "random" and was instantly deflated.

When are devs going to get bored of these things?

Just give us a solid "linearlike" game and slap the randomisation on the side for people who want to replay stuff?

Couldn't agree more, I loved Japanese games because they were uniquely Japanese. As soon as they started to cater for western audiences they lost the plot.

It does feel like the Japanese devs are going back to just doing what they do best now.

One run through of Misery Simulator is more than enough for me, and that was with skipping most cutscenes.

I'm 3 hours in, have it set to 4K resolution, 1440p internal resolution, Ultra settings, 60fps.

Not a single dropped frame so far, runs perfect.

@EfYI It will be earlier than that, I normally change out when the new graphics cards release, but will be skipping the 5x series, they're the equivalent of a ps4 pro.

Can't make my mind up on this one, voice acting seems wooden and dialogue is stilted.

Might hold off for a bit, getting tired of badly written dialogue.

@EfYI if it takes three years to save up for a pc you're either bad with finances or they are out of your price point.

Stick with consoles, they're fun for what they are and keep it simple for the non tech savvy.

Gender-swapping a protagonist is not pushing creativity anything, it's creatively bankrupt thinking and will be the undoing of this title regardless how much water the press wants to carry. It's also clearly one of the factors why Japan has taken control away from the west when it comes to PlayStation, the west has run out of ideas.

I'm proud to say my name is in the credits on the first Resistance game. It was the first PS3 launch game I got to try during development and I was blown away at the time. Amazing games

They need to do ports of good games though, a Nathan Drake Trilogy, GOW trilogy, and Ratchet Trilogy are badly needed.

Already picked up the early access on Steam and it's everything I hoped for, a return to pure gaming. No microtransactions, no dlc, just pure gaming in a single package.

@themightyant Solid list. I’m with you on enjoying 10-12 hour story games, but isn’t that what Sony does already with Uncharted, Last of Us, Spider-man? They almost certainly do it more than most other publishers.
Look at TLOU 2, Spiderman 2 and Lost Legacy, all really badly written games, I want those, just good versions of them where the developers haven't got the emotional range of a cabbage.

I’m also with you on bringing back WipEout. But don’t we have many Ridge Racer likes in things like Crew Motorfest, Wreckfest, Need for Speed, Art of Rally etc. that genre seems pretty well catered for (and with Forza probably coming) Wreckfest came out in 2014, and every other Racer wants to be an open world RPG these days, just give me an arcade Racer.

With Topspin, Tiebreak and several others do we really need more Tennis games? We need good tennis games...

Colony Wars. One of my OG favourites. Not sure why the space combat games never really advanced it felt like they all felt the same after a while. It feels like the industry as a whole has mostly forgotten this genre. Everspace 2 was the closest so far.

@PuppetMaster I bought every single Sony game day 1, but after Ragnarok, TLOU 2 and Spiderman 2 it will be a long time before I trust Sony again, they seem to have lost the ability to just tell a good story free of current day nonsense.

@themightyant I'd love some tight 10-12 hour story heavy action games, ones that haven't been written by people who have the emotional range of a toddler, I want some decent racers like Wipeout or Ridge Racer, a lot more 3D platformers, a good tennis game like Virtua Tennis, a decent space combat game like Colony Wars, solid Dark Fantasy RPGs like Dragon Age Origins. Hell, I'd even take an updated version of Overboard at this point. Just give me some fun!

@LogicStrikesAgain Problem is Logic, I've been with Sony since the start, and have been 100% digital since PSN launched.

Hell I even worked there.

I have spent literally tens of thousands on games and consoles with them, had all the variations of PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4, bought PSPs and Vitas (I even own the PSPGo) even got the VR1 and 2 headsets, I can say there have been very few people more committed to the Sony brand.

PS5 Pro is the first console I haven't purchased of theirs, simply because there is zero content that interests me, I couldn't pick one on that list of yours that appeals to me, so if they want to ditch me in favour of a new audience they are going about it in the right way.

I just hoping and praying they start giving the real gamers something to look forward to again.

It's a complete disaster regardless of when they were told. Senior heads should roll for something as big as this.

Dan and Sam Houser, who wrote everything Rockstar has done since the dawn of time are not involved on this one, they were the life and soul of Rockstar.

This will not be a good game story wise, and it will be generic slop.
