Re: Hands On: MindsEye Is a Boring Mess

Fishnpeas

I'm loving my time with it on PC, the story is really engaging and I want to see what happens next, voice acting is great for an action game. Car physics and shooting feel the same as GTAV.

Has some great little side content that pops up to put a bit of variety in it.

First game to put a genuine smile on my face when I got to fly the first time.

Honestly very strange the hate toward this game, it's an old school game that we have been sorely missing of late.

I'm playing on PC and haven't seen any bugs so far.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for June 2025?

Fishnpeas

I've had Plus since it started back on PS3, and Premium since it came out, I've probably downloaded less than 5 titles since Premium started. Today is my last year of subscribing, I'm not even bothered about losing my cloud saves or the PS3 games I got back when PS Plus was worth having. I think I won't be alone on this, Sony seemed to have stopped caring about their customers.

Re: Talking Point: Does Sony Really Need Some Kind of Summer Showcase?

@Athrum We are currently in year 5 of PS5.
Last year they released 9 titles, 3 were remakes/remasters and one was cancelled. So 6 titles, 2 were only published by Sony.
This year we've had 1 new game (MLB) and one remaster.

In year 4 of PS1 Sony released 58 titles.
In year 4 of PS2 Sony released 48 titles.
In year 4 of PS3 Sony released 45 titles.
In year 4 of PS4 Sony released 27 titles.

These events used to show they wanted to engage with their customers, interact with them and get them invested in the brand. When I worked at SCEE it was mandatory I went, worked the stand, engaged with the gamers, showed them cool tech we had coming up and most importantly played games with them.

Leipzig used to be an amazing event, and getting drunk with the people on the Xbox stand after the show was always a highlight, it was always a contest to see who brought the best alcohol. MS won it hands down on the last one I went to when they had 20 cases of champagne, and a ridiculous amount of Becks flavoured beers.

We used to run contests on the forums and engage with gamers directly, let winners of the contests come to the studios up in Liverpool and London, or take them out on events like F1 track days.

A lot of current day gamers don't realise how far Sony have gone to disengage with their customers over the last 20 years.

Re: Neil Druckmann Confirms Involvement in Second Unannounced Naughty Dog Project

@naruball Because I was alive during development of them, and was working at SCEE? (That's the European arm of Sony).

We all heard what was going on over there, lots of shouting, lots of bullying and posturing, and unfortunately Neil won.

Perhaps go look up Straley and Hennig, these two love gaming and just walked away from the one of the biggest studios of the time. Hennig created Nathan, and Straley created Joel. Neils first big contribution was the Left Behind DLC and the ridiculous ideas put into U4 such as Nate getting his butt handed to him by people physically weaker than him, as well as his retirement.

Re: Poll: 10 Years Later, What Are Your Thoughts on The Witcher 3?

Fishnpeas

Bought the game on launch on both PC and PS4, and I have tried so many times to get into it, playing over 30 hours on some play throughs and just cannot get into it. This is one of those games I am absolutely supposed to love, but it just doesn't click with me even though the genre and lore are absolutely in my wheelhouse. I think half the problem is that it's one of those games where if you take a few days off or a week from playing you forget all it's systems and it's hard to break back into it. I had a similar experience with Baldurs Gate 3, I absolutely loved Divinity 2 and what they did with that, but just didn't gel with BG3. Witcher 3 seems to be one of those I will install it when I get a new PC, play it for a bit and then uninstall because it just isn't getting its hooks into me.

Re: Beloved Ex-PlayStation Boss Believes $70, $80 Games Are a Steal

Fishnpeas

@SausageWearer My problem since the end of PS4/start of PS5 era is that I'm buying them and not enjoying them and giving up halfway through most of the time because either the writing is terrible or it has been filled with so much bloat it just isn't worth my time.

The big studios can charge what they want, but I've been avoiding them over the last couple of years because I'm just tired of lacklustre, soulless experiences. Horizon 2, GOW Ragnarok and Spiderman 2 were the final nails in the coffin for me.

Re: Intergalactic PS5 Star 'Bootcamp-ing' with Neil Druckmann to Ignore the Haters

Fishnpeas

@LogicStrikesAgain We didn't miss anything, that was the problem. We have got to the point that we can read human emotions from video game characters. Her expression rejection has stemmed from lived experiences with people who have faces like that, regardless of race or gender. They are usually terrible people you do not want to associate with, let alone invest 30 hours into becoming them.
