@DennisReynolds You missed the last point.

If titles are blowing up to the point of them only being able to release a handful a year, they should reevaluate what is important to gamers.

Games used to be tight experiences with 6-20 hour storys, now we have the same six hours of story content but with 40-50 hours of completely unnecessary bloat to hide the ridiculously thin plots that simply travel a straight line.

If you enjoy spending countless hours collecting pointless nonsense from vast environments that look pretty but are simply cardboard fascias with zero depth have at it, but I'm very tired of being peed on and being told it's lemonade.

It just isn't.

We are currently in year 4 of PS5.
This year they released 8 titles, 2 were remakes/remasters and one was cancelled. So 5 titles.

In yes 4 of PS1 Sony release 58 titles.
In year 4 of PS2 Sony released 48 titles.
In year 4 of PS3 Sony released 45 titles.
In year 4 of PS4 Sony released 27 titles.

When games are so big they can't manage more than a handful of games a year, perhaps it's time to look at what gamers actually want instead of being able to see a couple of extra people in the crowd on a Ratchet game?

This feels like emperors new clothes.

When I want max settings 4k 60fps I will use my PC, I have a PS5 for new Sony games, of which there are none unfortunately.

I got really bored at the tutorial and didn't go back to it.

This feels like someone telling you to "make your own fun" because they can't think of anything to engage you with.

After TLOU2 it was clear Bruce Straley and Amy Hennig were the actual writjng talent at ND, unless they get some new blood in with fresh ideas they will struggle.

@naruball What you do in your spare time is up to you, but please bear in mind that the current birthrate is well below what is needed for any country to survive so it might be in everyones interest if people start breeding again.

I've preordered today to start playing at midnight, picked it up on steam though in the hopes the stutters will be less by throwing more hardware at it.

@Amnesiac traversal alone does not make a phenomenal game, it makes a good proof of concept or tech demo.

If what surrounds it is "cringe" then it is not worth playing.

Personally I have no idea what qualifies as cringe, but the dialogue caused my testicles to retract into my body.

I am definitely not someone that could be classed as a "PlayStation hater". I have been at every single launch of their consoles since importing the first one from Japan ahead of the UK launch, hell I even worked at Sony for a few years and got my name in quite a few first party titles including Resistance.

Standards and creativity have been slipping massively for the last couple of generations, but if you don't have 30 years of reference then you won't notice it.

@naruball Amazes me that people still think review sites give honest reviews and aren't just giant advertisements for publishers that invest in ad space on those review sites.

I gave up at the 2nd MJ mission. Started badly with all the bugs and glitches and then the side content kicked in that seemed to be written by a 4 year old.

I was absolutely flabbergasted that a first party triple A title could be so bad from Sony.

Except for Rebirth all of my game purchases have been on Steam since, and that is a first since PS1 launched. Between this and Ragnarok I lost a lot of faith in Sony and their plans for the future.

I'll be finishing of Immortals of Aveum this weekend, it was sat in my pile of shame, and I'm really enjoying it after about 15 hours.

Pretty solid experience with a mostly great cast.

This along with Ragnarok will not be going into my Steam library under PlayStation games.

Considering I noped out at the second MJ mission, for me, nothing of value was lost.

@Lanmanna I've played more games in the last 40 years than you will ever play.

And yes I have played it, and it's a reskin of TLOU/Resi2/3/generic cardboard blandness that we have been having for the last 5 years.

These things aren't made for gamers, they're made for tourists who don't want to be challenged in any way but want to say they have experienced something.

Remasters, remakes, reskins. It's getting ridiculous, and the new IPs seem like they were written by 3 year olds.

I bought it on PS4, and I also bought it on PC.

Unless they add new content it would be a very foolish purchase, I've already completed the first one to 100% 3 times.

People scoring it above a 5 have never played the original Silent Hill 2, or absolutely did not understand the game.

They turned a psychological horror game into a third person shooter.

Absolutely awful remake that does a massive disservice to the original, but I suppose the industry needs a win right now.

@DanteDevilHunter Spiderman 2 was crap. It was the second pile of crap just behind Horizon 2 that I didn't play to full completion because of how crap it actually was.

Putting aside the sheer volume of bugs the game had on launch, which should be unheard of in a first party title with a 200 million budget, the story was an utter mess and the side missions were literally the most soul destroying garbage I have ever encountered.

@Cloud39472 I have no idea why they bothered, but the remake train needs to stop and the industry needs to start thinking for themselves again instead of mining the depths of moria.

We will get to the point that 187 ride or die gets remade and no one wants that.

Although I think giving a 20 year old game with a new coat of paint a 9/10 was a bit silly, trying to change the scores on wiki is pointless.

I was in the queue at HMV when the hype was real for this back on PS2, and thought it was massively overrated when I played it, I just can't motivate myself to play it again.

November to February isn't a long time in development terms, will only give them time to delete things and barely gives them time for polish, especially since they will be off for a good chunk of December. This is more to let the storm calm on the product than anything else I think.
