@YorkshireNed You ban them, report them to police and move on.
You are comparing illegal activity to heated feedback, which is exactly what billion dollar corporations want you to do, they want to silence critics. It's extremely frustrating how blind people are these days.
@UltimateOtaku91 it is completely upto them to decide, but if the customers say they do not want it, they need to accept that product is a failure and it has become a vanity project, not a sellable product.
@MrPeanutbutterz There is a way of managing the ones who are wrong, and what you must have in the back of your mind at all times is that you are there to SERVE that customer, you are there to provide to their needs.
It could be they are completely in the wrong but if you are not catering to their needs you have one less customer to deal with in the future.
@ItsAlwaysSunnyyy Depends on what you class as abuse, someone hitting a dislike button on a video is not online hate, but that's what it's being classed as.
How many times have you heard the word "troll" when it comes to a paying customer?
@UltimateOtaku91 Because the customer is always right, what is the point of them creating something nobody wants?
They are there to sell a product, if the customer says "If you want my cash it needs to do xyz" you need to either fulfill that or be prepared not to sell something.
I honestly don't get people rushing to defend billion dollar corporations that find their customers irrelevant.
It's getting really bizarre the lengths companies are going to ensure they don't hear customer feedback.
Toxicity is irrelevant, the customer is always right, this is a lesson companies have been learning over and over again over the last few years, and it appears squenx want to learn it too. It doesn't matter what you think of your customers, they put food on your table, if you want to sacrifice that for some percieved toxicity then be prepared to go hungry.
The second game was awful, the character changes they made to turn aloy into an absolute ***** with a terrible attitude was a bad choice. I no longer have any interest in the character to the point it was the first port to PC I never bothered to pick up because I have no intention of playing through it again. She was insufferable. Standard gameplay was tolerable in the first but mix it with that character and it's a big nope.
I just think its funny that a remastered and downgraded game from 2018 won game of the year in 2024, no one gave it the time of day when it came out.
I loved Astrobot when it came out on VR and truly thought it was the next evolution of gaming, but once it goes on a flat screen it's just mario on a PlayStation.
It's really sad that this is the first GTA in 27 years I am not hyped for. The original game came out 27 years ago under DMA design. I was there for the Max Clifford stuff that was designed to get you to buy it and oh boy did it work.
This one is the first game without Dan and Sam Housers writing or involvement, and it will not be good.
Dan was 100% the Rockstar, all that is left is session players.
I'm absolutely sick of remakes, but if they add controller support and shiny graphics to Oblivion while leaving absolutely everything else the same then I'll be up for it.
My PC is hooked up to my TV so mouse and keyboard has prevented me ever retunring to it.
@CupidStunt Aw cmon there was nothing subversive about it, it was one of the most basic plots that you could write, and was extremely sophomore in it's handling of the subject, almost like a teenager was asked to write about revenge, there was absolutely nothing clever about the setup, it was filled with far too many conveniences and contrivances and lacked the most fundamental emotion to let you invest in the characters, empathy. You just didn't care about what happened to either of them because they were all round horrible people. Spending 5 minutes throwing a ball for a dog does not make you a sympathetic character, especially if you show it after you have seen a character do their worst acts first.
@RoomWithaMoose Yep I'm really not concerned about her femininity, I'm extremely cynical and I think they are masking lazy development by not coding hair and pushing it as empowerment. Hair on most characters is get shorter and shorter and I think it has nothing to do with anything other than compute cylces, it's far easier to code a bald head that doesn't react to the environment.
@RoomWithaMoose I don't look for sexy in any game to be honest, I find it creepy and uncomfortable playing sexualised games when my missus is sat next to me.
What I do want from my characters is that they are aspirational, games are supposed to be an escape, a power fantasy that takes you to places and worlds you have no seen before.
There is absolutely nothing about this character that is aspirational, their arrogance oozes from every shot.
The biggest thing that annoyed my about this game that no one is talking about is the fact they ripped off the bar scene from Akira shot for shot, that is not homage, that is just hackery.
@LavenderShroud Once the crash happened, Nintendo released their seal of approval which was their way of reassuring customers that everything on the NES would be in working order.
@Fight_Teza_Fight if you have a product that will do better than your product, and you really want to make a massive franchise out of your product such as sequels, DLC, VR games, Lego games, and even movies what would you do?
@Flaming_Kaiser I did read the article, and apparently my working knowledge of how Sony operates (because I worked there) makes me "dislectic" whatever that is, but companies like to buy competing products to kill them or take ideas and use them in their own products...
@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare You have entitlement backwards, people who work at game companies are not entitled to employment simply because they show up.
They are selling a product, if people do not like those products then it is down to the employees to change course and offer a product that people want. If they are unwilling or unable to make changes in the organisation they work in then they need to find a company willing to accept their ideas.
I watch funny playthroughs if a game is really broken and I have no intention of buying it (Star Wars Outlaws was the last example of this) but will never watch someone else play a game when I could be playing it myself, it makes absolutely no sense to me.
I think the real reason why people watch rather than play is that kids cannot afford every new release these days, and will watch it instead.
It isn't that money is being left on the table, it is that there is no m9ney on the table...
Just more signs the ship is sinking. Since PS became westernised the whole thing feels like it's going down the toilet.
When I worked there everyone had a genuine passion for gaming, we would do a days work and stay for hours after just playing games for the pleasure of it.
Now it feels like the majority of people don't even like games, and they are treating the place like McDonalds, just churning out the next burger at a drive through.
@nomither6 You're confusing gaming/streaming with PC building.
If you think a twitch thot can tell you what speed her memory runs at on her PC or what voltage is safe to overclock to then I have a bridge to sell you 🤣

Re: Square Enix Vows to Deny Toxic Fans Its Wonderful Games, Services
@YorkshireNed I've had over 30 years in sales and customer service, and have been exceptionally successful at it.
I was also the UK community team manager for PlayStation.
If there is one thing I know, it's how to handle customers.
Re: Square Enix Vows to Deny Toxic Fans Its Wonderful Games, Services
@UncleByron Don't you see that the gaming industry HAS been catering to the loudest voices over the last few years?
And those voices have never turned into sales?
It's time to start catering to actual gamers who have disposable income again...
Re: Dynasty Warriors: Origins (PS5) - Peak Dynasty Warriors Is Back with an Almighty Bang
I'm really looking forward to this one, I've been feeling the drought from DW games.

Re: Poll: What Are Your Most Anticipated PS5 Games of 2025?
I'll be honest, for the most part that is a pretty depressing list.
The Precinct is the one I'm most excited for though, small studio with some fresh ideas.
Re: Actress Tati Gabrielle Grateful to Work with 'Video Game God' Neil Druckmann on Intergalactic PS5
Neil doesn't even like videogames.
I'm not convinced he has played one.

That seems like it has a stronger story than what Neil Druckman could come up with, my guess is that it's fake.

I still just don't get why they've turned her into a Witcher, she was so much more than that, it just feels lazy.
I hope I'm wrong.

Re: Random: PS5, PS4 Shovelware Isn't Even Trying to Hide Its Plagiarism Anymore
@LavenderShroud Once the crash happened, Nintendo released their seal of approval which was their way of reassuring customers that everything on the NES would be in working order.
Funny how they have got rid of that now...
Re: Random: PS5, PS4 Shovelware Isn't Even Trying to Hide Its Plagiarism Anymore
How is this shovelware any different to what EA, Ubisoft and Sony have been pushing out over the last few years?
This is getting more and more like the Atari crash by the day, unlicensed, zero quality control garbage being pushed to consumers.
We need a new Nintendo Seal of approval, but for the whole games industry.
Heavy fines for any company that releases a game with game breaking bugs, and more regulation on monetisation.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 559
I've spent the weekend playing PSP, Mega Drive and Neo Geo games on my Steam deck and it's the most fun I've had with gaming in years.

The other alternative would have been a reskin, this would absolutely have ended up branded Horizon.

Do you think companies must retain people simply out of the goodness of their hearts?
People like you need a serious reality check on how the world actually works.
Re: Rumour: Ubisoft Turmoil Continues as Shareholders Consider Buyout
@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare It dissapointed everyone, hence the bad sales.
What are you even talking about?
Re: Rumour: Ubisoft Turmoil Continues as Shareholders Consider Buyout
The company needs to die at this point and sell off the franchises to smaller companies who still care about making games.
Tencent will just increase the slop count tenfold.

@theheadofabroom The Steam Deck is really old hardware lol.
It's two years old, and runs all current games just fine.

They keep churning out hardware and forgetting that games are a pretty important component.

I got 12 hours in and decided I just wanted to replay P3 FES on an emulator in 4k and had much more of a blast.

@Loamy Nerds buy PCs.
The PS5 pro is for people not nerdy enough to build and run a PC.
Re: Konami Quiet as PS5 Pro Players Report Issues with Silent Hill 2
I'm puzzled that if all you have done is put more power into the gpu the games are performing worse when they haven't been patched.
Seems to me they have been doing some creative accounting with the new hardware that is causing problems.
PS4 Pro ran games significantly better even if they hadn't been patched. They should never, ever get worse with better hardware, it makes zero sense.
