The latest trailer for HBO’s anticipated adaptation of The Last of Us is trending on YouTube, after attracting over eight million views in approximately 48 hours. That number’s just taking into account the official HBO Max upload – various mirrors and re-streams will, as you’d expect, push the figures much higher.

The show will, of course, start streaming on 15th January, and it’s poised to be a colossal hit for PS Productions. Sony will be hoping to see an uptick in sales of The Last of Us: Part I, and increased awareness around its apocalyptic brand. Remember, there’s still more to come from this franchise: Naughty Dog is working on an online multiplayer adaptation, which will be fully revealed next year.
