@ellsworth004 The official Microsoft version is just a Seagate with their logo on it, nothing different about them internally.

@ellsworth004 I've been using a Seagate 2TB internall for over a year on my PS4, works great. Speed gains are nominal though

@paradox32 Just ordered my Seagate 4TB from Amazon. This will be very nice to have in addition to the 2TB internal I currently have.

@paradox32 I just looked up some videos on Youtube & it seems that the PS4 will power an external HDD without an additional power supply as long as it's 3.0 of course.

I wish we knew about the power requirements. The Xbox One's USB hubs can power an external, I want this for PS4 as well.

There are some dramatic improvements to frame rates at certain points of the game with boost mode in that video, not perfect but it's much more playable now.

It's very pretty but extremely meh in gameplay for me. I will be taking a pass on this one.

People should temper expectations, this is NOT going to make 30fps instantly run at 60fps. I would expect Xbox One S type improvements where games will run at a steady 30fps above with no dips, tearing etc.

@get2sammyb Has that been proven? Xbox One S does it & none of their games have suffered from any buggy performance from the boost to frame rates.

The article is spot on. They developed the hell out of some great exclusives that powered the PS3 back up to a #1 worldwide spot in overall sales even though they're virtually tied in North America with 360, it's still a huge achievement considering their disastrous launch. They weren't afraid to take chances with new IP's which is something we've seen less of on PS4.

In North America, there'a always holiday deals on these things. Sometimes almost half off but usually 40%. BE smart about it & buy them then. You can stack two years worth of subscriptions on.

You can get these deals around the holidays for half price. You NEVER have to pay full price if you don't want to.

They've said several times it is possible to run into other players but due to the size of the game it's not likely to happen frequently.

Why does it need to be answered on launch day? Why does everything have to be instantly known?

Honestly the lack of hand holding is refreshing. Minecraft did the same thing. Nobody knew anything in the beginning but you talked to friends or went online to find out what others were doing. It gets people talking about the game the way gamers used to do during the NES days where you figured it out as you went. I hate being force fed every single mission or direction in agame. It's tiresome & just frankly lazy of people to not want to try & figure stuff out on their own.

Felt a bit Bio-Shocky to me with some of the environments. Looks great!

I can't wait to lose myself in the solitude of that universe.

So another $40 for a meager "Expansion"....no thanks, I'm not falling for it again. Their expansion content are more like small DLC packs.

I played the demo & was really impressed. I will be picking this one up for sure.

And to think we got 3 great stand alone Final Fantasy games on the PS1. Those were the days!!

Even after the patched demos I find the battle system to be a big hot mess. It's inexcusable for a game this long in development with the financial resources it has behind it to play so poorly.

After playing the MP Beta my expectations have greatly diminished for this game. If it has a great single player I'm in but with many sites not even getting review copies until the day before or the day of I will be taking a big wait & see.

I don't play episodic games until they're complete & usually have a retail form.

I really enjoyed the Battleborn Beta. Everyone seems to be talking Overwatch but this game has a place too.

Dishonored 2 & Deus Ex:Mankind Divided will be providing that stealthy gaming fix for me this year!

Probably for the best. W3 is leagues ahead of the first two games in just about every category. The first two were horribly paced.

Agreed. Despite all the negative naysayers, the numbers don't lie. They're completely dominating this gen by a wide margin. As long as they get the messaging right, they will keep on trucking right along smashing everything in their path.

Tech leaks happen all the time, it doesn't mean a company should be forced to reveal it's hand before it's ready. Look at all the NX "leaks". It's all speculative until it's official. Apple for instance, the press had the iPhone 4 in hands months before it was unveiled & they just kept trucking right along.
People who follow the industry regularly are the ones who may put the brakes on a PS4 purchase soon but I have so many gamer friends who don't follow the press & are completely oblivious to most of the "news" that happens on a daily basis.

People who wanna wait & see, then wait & see. If the PS4 does what you need it to do now, then buy one now.

Can't wait to give this a try.

I played the first one & loved it. I will definitely buy this day one if it comes west too. Hopefully the first title sold well enough.

I feel like we're being conned somehow because they have repeatedly stressed that "fans won't like the ending" or "it will be decisive" and they always go back to well it is called a thief's end as to imply Drake's death or maybe that's they want us to believe.

The tone just doesn't fit with the rest of the trilogy though that's the issue. If this had been some dark story from the get-go that's fine but it hasn't been that & to come into the final game & to try being all decisive & infuriating your fans is just insulting & a betrayal of the spirit of the series.

@teknium_ It doesn't process any graphics information for the game, it's strictly for the headsets tracking & refresh rate.

@adf86 I'm pretty sure Phil's Spencer alluded to a mid cycle replacement for the Xbox One weeks ago. He didn't flat out say so but one of his recent speeches you can definitely get the sense that they're working on this as well.

This is like a "New" 3DS. I think it's great that there's an option for consoles to now get a boost of power & performance mid life cycle. For those that want that extra ooomph in their games this is an option, if you're happy with what you got then you'll be Ok as well as nobody is forcing you to upgrade.
