More positive press for the remastered collection that no one asked for: Dead Island: Riptide, the sort-of-sequel to Dead Island, wont be included on the Dead Island: Definitive Collection disc. According to publisher Deep Silver, only the first game will be on the PlayStation 4 disc, meaning that you'll have to download Riptide using a code that comes in the box.
Strangely enough, this isn't the case on Xbox One, where both titles can be accessed via the disc. Explaining why this apparently isn't possible on Sony's console, Deep Silver says that "PS4 discs don't support multiple games, so Riptide comes as a download code [...] you need a separate menu, you can't just put two games on disc the same way as on Xbox One." Fair enough, we suppose, although we're not sure what's stopping the developer from throwing both games on there and keeping them separate, much like Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection does.
In any case, are you happy with this decision or are you struggling to give a damn? Don't stop kicking zombies in the comments section below.

so just do what the NDC did and THJC not hard is it, definitely going to hurt the rental and second hand market.
That's just really lazy & inexcusable.
Or its just they were too lazy to figure out how to put the game on a single disc
I think it makes sense to do it the way they have it drastically reduces the amout of 2nd hand sales of the game
the uncharted collection is technically one game though, just like the halo collection on xbox one is one game
rare replay on the other hand has like 10 separate games
@dryrain If that's the case surely they'd have done the same for the Xbox One version. It's a bit weird!
Uncharted Trilogy...yeah two games IMPOSSIBLE, but 3 is totally possible.
The remastered Metro games were on one disc! And that was even a Deep Silver release!
@gbanas92 Good call!
I was about to say that Uncharted collection has 3 games on. What about the Batman remaster? That'll have 2 games presumably and Doom reboots when switching between campaign, mp and snapmap so that may operate as multiple games. There must have been a way round this if they tried
From what I understand, PS4 can only show one icon per Blu-ray. The issue here, in short, is that they couldn't be arsed to create a menu so you can select which game you want to play.
GUYS IT'S OKAY!
I created a menu for them that allows two games in one. It's all very, very technical but try to follow along:
"PS4 discs don't support multiple games"

@dryrain Why are you so against second hand sales? You've mentioned this a few times and I cant see any positives from a consumer standpoint in denying them.
Take it from someone who has played both entirely: not worth it. And I got them both for 6 dollars.
According to Deep Silver the reason is that multiple titles on a PS4 disc needs a menue and xbox does not need a menue for multiple titles on their disc.
So is Deep Silver admitting abject laziness or is the creation of a menue to allow multiple title on 1 PS4 disc a substantial enough cost that it is being avoided?
My wish would be that all 3 games be on the disc with also the option to download each game separately.
I don't get it, what's the difference between PS4 discs and Xbox One's? Are they not both Blu Ray's?
Same thing happen with the Saints Row 4 port, but Metro another Deep Silver game had two games on one disc. Deep Silver stop telling us bull.
Hilariously pathetic. These guys are mental.
Dunno why you guys are so negative, have you seen the trailer?? The game looks awesome!!!

@kyleforrester87 That is the CGI trailer mate looks nothing like the game.
Well they just safed me a nice amount of money. At least i have Valkyria Chronicles for 22 Euro.
@Flaming_Kaiser
@themcnoisey I am against it from a standpoint of the games industry. Companies spend millions developing games and only have the one opportunity to make money through the sale of the game. If they do not have DLC or microtransactions then thats it. Yet a game can be traded unlimited times everytime the company gets nothing from this yet people play the games. Other companies benefit from the resale of the games but not the company who make the games. A game might be popular with the fans but because of the lack of initlal retail sales it might never get a sequel or worse the company ceases to trade. The PC market has effectively cut out 2nd sales yet it works fine and does not stop the consumer from buying PC's.
@dryrain Agree, too often gamers want to have their cake and eat it
