There were rumours a while back that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings was going to end up on the PlayStation 3, but it never happened. Likewise, both before and after the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, there were whispers that the first two titles in the series were going to be remastered for PlayStation 4, but again, it never happened - and at this point, it doesn't look like it ever will.
In an interview with German website GameStar, translated by Reddit user Pawel95, CD Projekt Red reiterates that is has no plans to remaster the first two games for the current generation, or bundle all three titles into one retail package. A shame, we suppose, but it's worth mentioning that the previous games haven't aged especially well - we reckon they'd need some serious tweaking if they were to be put on the market these days, and that's probably a time consuming job that the Polish studio doesn't want to get bogged down with.
In any case, would you play the first two games if they were on PS4? Have you played them before on other platforms? Tell us just how far Geralt's come in the comments section below.

Can only hope one day they will change their minds.
Probably for the best. W3 is leagues ahead of the first two games in just about every category. The first two were horribly paced.
1 was a bit ropey but 2 still holds up really well its a shame playstation owners may have never played it
I always wanted that witcher 1 ps3 game that was supposed to come out... 7 years ago? God times slippery.
The first game while awesome is very bad paced, and it's dated as hell.
The second one is a bit better on pace and it's not so dated, but looks like a minigame when compared with The Witcher III. So it's for the best I guess.
I'm actually currently playing the first Witcher game. I'm really enjoying it so far (just finished Chapter 1, though I hear that Chapter 2 and 3 are abysmal), but I agree — it's way too outdated to be released in today's industry. A complete remake would be necessary if they wanted to release it on PS4, and I doubt they would want to put the resources into that.
I never played the first but the second was a great game. It was far more 'linear' though than the W3 but still a game I would recommend.
I would love to play The Witcher 2 on PlayStation. I think the first one has aged quite badly, honestly, but the second would be great.
I played Assassins Of Kings on my 360 twice to see each path. I loved all the political intrigue in that game. I never played the first but I would have loved remasters of both, definitely.
Good. I would much rather they commit their resources to Cyberpunk at this point.
Assassins of Kings was pretty special. Soooo much political intrigue, Plus the branching paths midway through the game was amazing, However, I think it's the right idea. Too much tweaking
I would like to play them if they all ever hit a console, since I dislike jumping into a series without knowing thd full story. I'm sure they have their reasons, but I would have liked to see it happen.
I mean any decent PC from 2005 and onwards would be able to run witcher 1 no problems, pretty sure even now igpu could handle that game easily
the first one is good and it goes for like a dollar on steam every 2 months, while if they release it here they would charge 30+
Mmm as someone who discovered the series with the Witcher III, I think I'd play them... but from what I read it would take a lot of work to make them more appealing to the current audience, so I think they should put their resources into their next game.
